Detailed Reviews
Very new, picturesque, and comfortable rustic cabins with complete kitchens. Paint and furnishings are all new, adding to our appreciation and enjoyment. The owners are super nice people and we felt very welcome even in this time of COVID-19. Our cabin, #3, had a high quality flat screen TV with a large selection of DISH TV channels. The bedroom, (with 2 queen beds and a single bed), is up steep stairs, which could be a consideration if you needed to take all your luggage up with you, but we left almost everything downstairs and really got along just fine. Parking is great; very close to the rooms, a bonus if someone in your party brings way too many shoes for a short vacation trip... You're only a few steps off of the main street, within easy walking distance of everything this quaint town has to offer.
Fresh ground coffee and creamer are supplied along with a clean 12 cup coffee maker. They grind beans every day for the freshest cup possible; 2 thumbs up! The small enclosed shower has a 22 gallon water heater, enough for two good showers in a row. Very soft water is a wonderful bonus; just be sure to volunteer to shower first (so you know that there will still be hot water...).
We never heard any of our neighbors or vehicles outside; 2 more thumbs up. All in all a great stay and highly recommended!

This cabin was actually larger than we needed but we picked it because there was a bed and bathroom downstairs. Other cabins were equally charming as this yet many had loft beds or similar type bedding upstairs with bathroom down. Being a proud member of the "senior community" I could NOT see me going downstairs, deep night time to visit the rest room :-).
The cabin was lovely. Mr Coffee maker and coffee, sugar, creamer etc. The bedroom had down comforter that kept my partner and I very warm when temp outside was quite cold (maybe -20 degrees) The bed was very comfortable. Shower/tub had some type coating of the tub floor that made it non slippery. The towels were fluffy and large in size. The living area had large tv, and book shelf full of books to read and games to play. Location of the cabin is the closest to the downtown area, making for an easy walk to shop or dine. Would certainly stay here again.

These adorable cabins give you the cozy cabin feel and have downtown Talkeetna right out your door. Cabins are stocked with everything you need, and the hosts Bill & Jodi are receptive and accommodating. Plenty of room for my small family and bonus of running water and a warm cabin to make this rustic feel quite luxurious.

+1
We didn’t have an opportunity to meet Jodi but Bill went above and beyond to accommodate us! We arrived early in the morning via bus and Bill picked us up, held our luggage for us while we explored the quaint town of Talkeetna and then had our cabin ready before actual check-in time. He put our name on the door, our luggage inside the cabin and the keys inside. The cabin is very well equipped from the kitchen to the bathroom (shampoo, conditioner, soap and hairdryer). The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The location is perfect - walking distance to everything except The Flying Squirrel cafe.

Husband and I went out of town for a short weekend to break free from the city. We opted to splurge and stay at a local B&B style lodging. We were so impressed! While our hosts weren’t available at check in, they did leave us a note telling us where our room was and that the keys were inside. We stayed in the larger lodge building, which can easily accommodate 6-8 people. Full kitchen, nice sized bathroom and super clean. You can walk anywhere in Talkeetna from there, which was great! We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

We booked these cabins after reading the good reviews on trip advisor and were not disappointed. We were originally booked to arrive in 2021 but the owner, Bill, kindly moved our reservation to this year. He picked us up from the railroad ands as it was a clear day, drove us to an overlook to see Denali before taking us to the cabin.
The cabins are only just off the main street in Talkeetna so are within easy walking distance of everywhere but they were also very quiet. We spent one day relaxing in Talkeetna after a very busy itinerary over the previous 2 weeks and then went on a jet boat on the river after checking out the second day. Bill stored our luggage for us and then drove us back to the railroad (free of charge, unlike the hotel in Denali!)
The cabins are very well maintained and very clean. Bill was very friendly and helpful, even sorting out an excursion in Anchorage we were trying to confirm without our cell phones working!
I would definitely recommend staying in one of these cabins and we enjoyed getting a real flavour of Alaska in Talkeetna.

Talkeetna Cabins proved to be in a great location (with one exception, discussed below), fully outfitted to eat in (which is good because the food in town is pretty bleak), and quite comfortable. Much of the cabin seemed to be fairly new, especially the bathroom. The exception noted above is that it is located back to back with the town bars, which love to play loud music until well after the 10:00 curfew. If you don't mind that, or are a late person anyway, then I highly recommend the Cabins. We struggled with the noise, but this was more than made up for by the extremely accommodating owner, who took quite a bit of time to accommodate a special request we had. He is great, and is the real reason we recommend staying here! One small note: the living room needs more lighting -- hard to read if more than one person is trying.

Talkeetna is a place everyone should visit, and I really can't imagine a better place to stay than here. The location is perfect. You can hear the live music from main street while sitting on your deck. The walk to the river is all of three minutes. But the real prize is the cabin itself. It felt, well, cabiny, even though we had wifi, a TV, a full kitchen, a bathroom and hot shower, and a loft bedroom that could sleep four.
Come for the location, stay for the cabin. And be sure to listen to the owner, Bill. As we were leaving he told of us of the perfect spot to stop and see Denali, since it was a clear morning. I will now always listen to Bill no matter the subject. He had great advice on places to eat, and he gave us a view of the mountain that we'll never forget.

I highly recommend the Talkeetna Cabins if you are traveling to Talkeetna or the Denali area in Alaska. Bill and Jodi are the owners. I met Bill at the train station and he was helpful. Although we had arrangements with Talkeetna air taxi for transportation, Bill took our luggage from the train station and placed it in our rooms for when we return to the cabins after our excursion. The accommodations were perfect and very comfortable. We were 2 adults and my 14 year old son in one cabin. Upon entering the cabin there was a small kitchen with stove, fridge and coffee maker, living room with couch, tv and recliner chair. One bathroom with a shower. It included shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Upstairs in the spacious loft there were 2 queens beds and one twin-bed. There are 2 chairs and small table on porch. Bill also was helpful in providing transportation back to the train depot at the end of our stay. Highly recommend this location.

The Talkeetna Cabins are wonderful. They reflect the nature of the small community and provide a great place to stay while you enjoy the town. We spent three nights there and had no complaints whatsoever (okay, except for the fact that the sloped ceiling for the bedroom was a bit low for those of us over 6 feet tall). The cabins were clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
