We visited caribou lodge for my husband’s birthday. It was the best weekend. This place is magical, we loved it. We originally planned to stay there for two nights but due to weather we had to stay one more night (lucky us!) but Zac and Alyssa were so great they made everything so comfortable. The cabin has great view, it’s so clean and tidy. The food was delicious and we greatly appreciate that they cook vegetarian meals for us, freshly baked bread and cookies were amazing and I still remember those mouthwatering desserts! Zac was a great guide, he took us to two beautiful hikes and we got to see moose and black bears. We did kayaking in the evening which was very beautiful and peaceful. And how can we forget Howie, he the best host, he used to hangout with us at lodge. We enjoyed our evenings with him. Pippin is a sweetheart too. It is an authentic Alaska experience. It was very peaceful and beautiful, just what we needed. We would really like to go back some day. And lastly sorry Zack for late review but your place is so great that we couldn’t even put it into words! - Khyati and Vivek

We were looking for an “authentic” Alaska experience and we got it. Floatplane to and fro, hiking in the backcountry and beautiful scenery. Along with comfortable accommodations and excellent food, we got exactly what we were looking for.

Zac is probably the most capable human being I have ever met. My sister and I went alpine camping for several nights with 5 kids and it was shockingly fun. Alyssa should open a restaurant. Her cooking was top notch. The cabins were immaculately clean and my kids have asked us to put an outhouse like theirs (so fancy) in our back yard. Cant say enough great things about our Caribou Lodge experience

Great Hospitality, Food, Bed - Cabin, Location, & Cleanliness. My stay was the Perfect Vacation! It was everything I wanted to do while literally getting away from everything. I didn't have to worry about a thing. The only complaint I have, is that I wish I had two more nights. In fact, I'm looking into booking for 2021. If you want to get away and do nothing or hike and see animals or explore untouched lands, then this is the place. I had to fly to get to the property. There is no noise or light pollution. Hikes are so much fun. I was able to see Black bears and Grizzly bears. The food was great & plenty, plus they took our dietary needs into consideration with each meal. Thanks again and can't wait for next year! Until then... FREEZE!! okay, okay.. UNFREEZE!!

Hey guys, Thanks so much for the review. We're getting so used to the 5-star reviews that we may shake things up a bit and see if we can get some less satisfied guests . (just kidding!) It is the best compliment to see someone book with us again after their visit. We are mostly a bucket-list destination and don't see many repeat customers. We look forward to seeing you in 2021! Our emphasis here at Caribou Lodge is hiking, kayaking, and camping trips, but to see people unwind and relax away from the crazy cities is always a treat for us. Our remote, fly-in location is so peaceful and quiet. We get many guests say that a 3rd or 4th night would have allowed for some R&R after all the hiking. And thank you for entertaining our kids. They always love playing outside with our guests...but now, all they want to do is play FREEZE tag! :) We look forward to seeing you again! Cheers!

Can't believe its taken me so long to get around to writing a review...but here goes. My partner, Beryl, and I spent 3 nights at Caribou Lodge late September 2019. Our stay was everything you dream an Alaskan Lodge holiday might be, and more. Beautiful float-plane ride out there...after the fog had lifted at Talkeetna...to a warm welcome from Zac, Joe, Alyssa,Bonnie and their family. We had a great little cozy cabin by Boomerang Lake. Our time was spent on guided hikes over the amazing tundra, with sightings of far away mountains and also, thank goodness, far away views of large black furry wildlife with long sharp pointy teeth. Having said that. We never felt in any danger. A testament to the professionalism of our Guides. We partook of community meals in the main lodge, washed down with quaffs of cheeky little wines and gallons of interesting conversations with our hosts and fellow guests.Whilst in Australia, you only have to worry about red-back spiders on the outhouse seats, at Caribou Lodge you have the added attraction of side-stepping bear and moose during your late night sprint to the bathroom. Perhaps I'm exaggerating a bit ! All in all, a wonderful trip, with wonderful experiences, food and hosts. As a postscript, my partner and I got engaged at the top of Blue Berry Hill, so the Lodge will always be in our hearts. Thank you Bramante Family.

Hey, we remember you!!! :) And we are so glad you folks decided to visit us! You forgot to mention your marriage proposal to Beryl on the hiking trail... That was the 2nd proposal in 2019 here at Caribou Lodge. So AWESOME! And ya know, now that you mention it, I always try to remember to tell folks to take a peak around at night before heading to the outhouse, because bears have (on very rare occasion) been known to walk through, but in 6 years we haven't had one person see a bear in the back yard..... kinda disappointing! It used to add to that late-night outhouse experience.... Thanks for the kind words and 5 ball review! Please visit us again one day. -Zac, and the team
