Hidden gem in the mountains with the most stunning view we’ve ever seen. Winding rivers and the Denali mountain range are the highlights of the spectacular view. Maleia our host was welcoming, energetic and full of amazing history and local information. She cooked an amazing breakfast worth the price.
The cabin itself is spacious spanning 4 floors filled with photos, plants and art! The cabin was originally owned by a professional photographer. It’s got plenty of things to do for the kids with puzzles and games or musical instruments with a piano or guitar for folks to play.
They offer complementary bakes fresh cookies, coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
Like any other place in the mountains pictures don’t do it justice.
Highly Recommended!

Spent a night here with my wife while visiting Talkeetna on January.
We chose this place because of the great reviews and it was spot on! The house very clean and the rooms have amazing views over the Denali. Comfortable beds and nice shower and bath. On the evening Ron the host gave us some recommendations on restaurant in town and it was great. The next morning, we had an amazing breakfast with Ron and his wife Mable. We had a great chat with them for more than an hour!
Reaching the house is very convenient and the drive way and small dirt road leading to the house were plowed and ready for our arrival. This is an amazing property which is worth every dollar!
Very highly recommend this inn, not only for the view but also for the great hosts!!

Hi, thanks for your visit and your kind words for both Ron and Mabel and the property. Talkeetna is such an Alaskan gem. Shoulder seasons are always a great time to visit...Talkeetna either gearing up or winding down...all good. Thanks again, Tim and Peque

My wife and I booked this place for a weekend in February to get out of Palmer and relax. From the photos online the place looked beautiful and the view unbeatable. The reality is exactly that! The property is set up high on a tall hill above the trees with rooms that offer views from even higher. Every window in the home is perfectly placed to capture a part of the spectacular view. We were lucky enough to have a completely cloudless view of the entire Denali range all evening as we lounged in the open living room and played scrabble. The heated floors, beautiful craftsmanship, and homie touch go a long way and made our stay feel too short. Our room, like the rest of the home, was spotless, cozy, and welcoming. Plenty of fresh towels, candy on the bed, and fast wifi. We awoke the following day to a delicious homecooked breakfast with warm coffee and pleasant conversation. The owners are incredibly welcoming. The entire stay was private and relaxing. We will book again in the future!

Hi and thanks for your stay with us at the Denali Overlook Inn. Talkeetna is a special place and the D.O. is a stunning property close to town. If from Palmer, remember the shoulder season (May, September and October)...Talkeetna either gearing up or winding down without the summer time traffic. All fun. Thanks again for your kind words. My husband and I stayed here last night. The inn was gorgeous, and Maleia was a wonderful hostess! We were sad that we only had one night to enjoy this small piece of heaven. One could easily spend a weekend or a whole week here. Upon arrival, Maleia had homemade chocolate chip cookies and scones available for us. The front sitting room was very cozy with a wood burning stove. We stayed in the Denali View suite which was beautiful and as the name suggests, had a wonderful view. The suite was super spacious with lots of amenities. The room itself had a refrigerator, coffee maker, claw foot tub, bathrobes, recliners for enjoying the view, and super comfortable beds and sitting areas. Maleia offers breakfast for a small fee. The food was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed her company during breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely will plan to visit again on our next trip to Alaska!

My husband surprised me with a quick Valentine's weekend getaway to Talkeetna and staying at the Denali Overlook Inn was magical! Ron and Mabel were wonderful hosts and the ambiance and the atmosphere of the Inn was exactly what we needed - a break from the hustle and bustle. We loved that we did not have a tv in the room to distract us and loved checking out the books and photos all over the Inn. The main/great room was very relaxing. This was our first time staying at a B&B, it was clean, cozy, loved the decor and the Inn itself is beautiful! The views were outstanding, Denali came out from behind the clouds a few times and the sunset was Epic! We stayed in the Victorian room and we loved waking up to see the sunset reflecting off of the mountains. We also had a wonderful breakfast with good company and conversation. It was hard to leave! We will definitely be back! Thank you again for a lovely stay!

Hi, thanks so much for your recent stay. Talkeetna is a gem and we certainly love sharing the property with our guests. Try visiting during our shoulder season (May, September and October). Talkeetna is either gearing up or winding down...most activities still going without the summer crowds. Thanks again, Tim and Peque

What a special place this is….from the location, to the AMAZING views to the hospitality shown by Tim and Peque. If you can get the Denali View suite…DO IT! (And not for just one night…you will be beyond disappointed). Two was just perfect for what we wanted to do. Talkeetna is a fun little town!
The linens and towels were top notch, Peque treated us to wonderful breakfasts and Tim feels like an old friend sharing all of his tips and knowledge. You feel like home and it’s oh so hard to leave. We will be back!!

We were fortunate to stay here for a few nights on our Alaska adventure. Maleia made us feel so welcome... and the food she prepared was absolutely delicious. The accommodations are clean/comfortable with the most incredible views. We saw Denali from our room and stayed awake way into the wee hours of the day just watching the sky as semi darkness descended. We came back after a long hike to sitting on the lawn with a glass of wine followed by s'mores. Such special memories. This stay will go down as one of our most favorite. Thanks Maleia and Tim for making the Overlook Inn what it is... a most phenomenal place to stay. We hope to come back and stay longer the next time.

The inn was built by a famous photographer and as such is more than picture perfect. It has great windows that open to a perfect view of Denali (AKA Mount McKinley). Malia, the inns hostess, was more than kind and I felt I left Alaska having made a new friend. Her omelette’s were to delicious and she had made homemade scones and bagels during our stay. It was super clean. It does not get any better than this. It was the nicest place we stayed during our visit. If you get to speak with the owner he is super knowledgeable about the area and told us to take Hatchers pass down to Seward vs the highway. So very glad we did this as it was breathtaking scenery and not always open to travel (closes in winter months). Opens to a Great Lake on top of the mountains. This inn was a great find and made for a great trip!

The Inn is beautifully appointed with gorgeous views of the mountain range. Tim and Maleia go above and beyond to ensure all your needs are exceeded. Great breakfast to start each day and the outdoor fire pit with s’mores in the evening provides ample time to reflect and plan the next day’s adventure. The Inn is located about 10 minutes from all Talkeetna attractions. You can’t go wrong with this experience.

Hello, Yes, complimentary breakfast is included with your stay during the summer months and during winter we offer it for an additional charge. Thanks!
That is interesting Yes, there is a small parking area by the front door that we parked at when we stayed there. The house is a steep 1/8th of a mile from the main road, so I can't imagine where else you would park. The couple is super friendly, so you may just srop them and e-mail and have them clarify what the note means.
