I cant say enough good things about this resort. Their customer service was top notch in every aspect, from the airport pick up, to the resort, the restaurant, and the dives. I was so impressed with the dives, when in between each dive we were given hot tea, banana bread, and hot face towels. Its the little things. The resort brews their beer which was great! My wife and I are already planning our second Yap trip, can't wait!

I was stationed in Guam with the US Coast Guard from 2016 - 2019, and working on SEQUOIA gave me a chance to visit many of the islands in the area including Palau, FSM, RMI, & CNMI. When the time came to take one last family vacation, without hesitation I chose to take my family vacation to Yap and stay at the Manta Ray Bay Hotel. My wife and I took advantage of their 7 Day 10 "Dive and Stay" package. We brought our 4 year old daughter along. Not only was baby sitting available at a very reasonable rate through the hotel, it was exceptionally accommodating and the baby sitter accompanied us on the daily dive boat and took our daughter swimming while we were down diving. The whole family was able to take advantage of the beautiful water together. How many 4 year olds can say they legitimately swam with reef sharks?! The water is warm, visibility on a flood tide is amazing, the reefs are healthy, and the fish (including sharks, mantas) are plentiful. It was amazing. The Manta Ray Bay Staff is very friendly and accommodating and make for a very enjoyable experience. I recommend this trip, destination, and resort to divers and families alike.

From 2014-2019 my wife lived in Guam. In addition to diving the Marianas Islands we I took diving excursions to Palau, Chuuk, Yap, Pohnpei and even went as far afield as the Maldives. By FAR the best of the bunch was Yap and that is entirely due to two factors: The Manta Ray Bay Resort and Yap Days. From the food, to the staff to the facilities everything was top notch. The happy hour smoked wahoo is amazing. Living in Guam we are acutely aware of the logistical difficulties faced by all businesses that operate this far from normal supply chains. The fact that Manta Ray Bay provides the services and facilities that they do is uncanny. Sure, we're the beds a bit stiff? Yeah but who cares. Buffet breakfast in the Mnuw (a converted schooner turned restaurant and bar), diving all day (we had perfect visibility and water temperatures in the low 80s in March) with all the sharks, mantas and dogtooth tunas one could hope for, sitting at the Infinity Pool after diving drinking the local brewed Stone Money Brewing beer (the hammerhead amber is good, the manta ray gold was 'a pass') and finishing off the week in the Taro Leaf spa for a couples massage was perfect. The cleaning stations for SCUBA gear and storage faculties were great, although admittedly the staff did most of the work. During our trip we tried almost every restaurant on the island (all within easy walking distance) and never had a bad or expensive meal. The tuna was some of the best we have ever had. Then again, so was the mahi. Then again, so was the wahoo. Every meal was a home run and the ambiance was incredible. Each restaurant had high novelty value too. Granted, we were in Yap for Yap Days so there was always plenty to do so I can't vouch for the rest of the year. I will say, of all the annual festivals held at all the destinations around Micronesia, Yap Day was the best. You just have to see it for yourself...but if you want to go to Yap Days book early. I would absolutely go to Yap again and I would only stay at the Manta Ray Bay Resort.

Very easy to describe. Awesome facility, awesome staff and world class diving. What else could you ask for!!! Never fails to deliver. This will become one of your favorite dive destinations and you will return. It is also a close neighbor to Palau so it is easy to make a grand trip to some of the best diving in the Pacific. Contact Bill Acker for help with travel arrangements. Very safe island for sightseeing and hiking trails. No big dive crowds to contend with and many dive sites to choose from when you get tired of watching the mantas. If you actually do!!
