Just a basic motel. There is no aircon so you have to have the windows open and it is right on the state highway. Got minimum sleep. We arrived at 7.00 and the proprietor was obviously not impressed. The bed was ok and it was clean but very tired. Won't be back.

chose this property on the basis of a review "nice and quiet". It could not have been more misleading. The road noise was horrific and did not abate all night. It appeared to be funneled down the driveway and amplified. Unfortunately the hosts were away. The room was cramped with the single bed jammed in and we needed a chair... More

A lovely motel with really nice hosts. Well located to a variety of coffee shops & petrol stations, and only a quick drive to the supermarkets (3 within a 5 minute drive). The motel rooms themselves were comfortable and a decent size. Well equipped with a microwave, fridge & utensils. Downsides however were that we were located in one of... More

We had the pleasure of staying at the Homestead Motel last weekend. Debbie and Shaun were amazing hosts. At check-in they were warm and welcoming and nothing was a bother. They spoke to us of the hard work they are putting into their motel to refurbish it, and rest assured as fellow moteliers ourselves we know that this is not... More

We stayed in the 2 bedroom studio. It was really tired, the chairs had stains on them and the whole place needed a new coat of paint. Our bed had roll together and was not good for a couple. There were also black hairs on the towels and in the bathroom (none of us have black hair!). Needless to say... More

The place was clean and nice, but they should have put double glazing windows in when they redecorated, due to the noise from the main road. Also they should have upgraded the Shower unit as it was out of the 70's and not acceptable at all. other than that no complaints.

The only detractor for this motel was the noise from the highway. apart from that, the motel was comfortable, clean and cosy. Everything you need from a motel, very friendly and helpful managers, good breakfast (extra cost but worth it), comfortable bed, and very clean and adequate facilities. Location was good for ease of getting places. Definitely a great place... More

My first night was amazed! Although realized that my room was the nearest to the highway, I optimistically thought that the traffic would be ease later at night. Unfortunately, this highway was just the main route of all heavy trucks running to and from the South. So, it was hard to sleep with those noises. However, this was in exchange... More

Was a very cosy night inside our room on a cold Timaru evening. We slept very well here and managers went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Large room and soft beds.. Rooms were clean .. Definitely no complaints for the price.
