The location is south of the main town, about a 12 minute stroll past cafes and restaurants by the river. Next door is the Dalyan Live Hotel which offers great Turkish Bath facilities and massages.
Dalyan was a hoot. Over 120 eating choices (our favourite was the Alegria Brasserie owned by the same family as the Yummy Cafe in the town centre.) Lots of shops selling mostly fake designer items and great fun bargaining. Liked the weekly market.
What was unexpected was just how cheap things are. Apparently Brits were getting 6 TR to the pound last year and we were getting 18 TR last month!!
All in all, a great break. Possibly too hot in July and August though.
We stayed in a hotel room which was lovely, feeling you're staying in an authentic Turkish room, so clean and it is cleaned and towels etc refreshed every day.
The staff are amazing, nothing is too much and they are so very friendly, you feel at home immediately.
At breakfast you are looked after so very well, the staff again so helpful and friendly. So much choice English or Mediterranean, omelette, scrambled eggs or fried eggs would be freshly for you .
Lovely pool and pool area, cleaned by a team every morning.
The grounds are just beautiful as you walk around and the garden area by the river with the jetty was our favourite place, with hammocks in the shade. We would sit on the jetty watching the wildlife and were amazed to frequently watch the loggerhead and Nile turtles swim by or pop up for air, even swimming right along the front of the jetty.
In the evening after our meal we would attend the bar by the pool where Mustafa would keep us all entertained all evening and we would all be crying with laughter.
Can not wait to return, we LOVED it!!
The apartment pool doesn’t have a pool bar which meant that it was lovely and quiet and there were always plenty of sun loungers and parasols to relax under. The hotel which is about 100m down the road has a pool with a pool bar, which you are also able to use, if you prefer things to be a bit more lively.
The grounds of both the apartments and hotel are beautiful. The furniture at the jetty could do with a bit of a tidy up but I still loved to lay in a hammock and watch the water taxis sailing up and down the river in the afternoon.
It was great value for money and if you’re looking for a more traditional, family run hotel/apartment then the Asur is perfect.
Rooms are more than comfortable and we're kept immaculate by the housekeeping staff (always smiling). The only slight drawback was that the bed was a little hard but that's a personal choice and it certainly didn't detract from the holiday.
Breakfast was varied and plentiful and the "egg station" was a hit.
The hotel grounds are immaculate with a stroll down to the river through the garden highly recommended. Location wise, it is about a 5 minute walk to the nearest restaurant (once you get your bearings) and a 15 minute walk to the centre of town. For the less mobile, taxis have a flat rate of 50TL (£2.50) to take you into town, just ask reception and the taxi will be waiting within minutes.
Could not recommend this hotel highly enough and the fact that they have so many returning guests year after year says it all.
The apartments, although fully booked when we visited, we’re so quiet and we often found we had the pool to ourselves. The area was clean and there were plenty of beds - not that we ever had to fight people for them.
The hotel, located approximately 100m down the road, where you could also visit to use the facilities, was also great. They had a spot right on the riverside which was great to sit by and watch the world go by. Also managed to spot a few turtles surfacing for air early in the morning. River taxis could be caught from there to the beach for 150tl return, and a boat trip we took out to see also picked us up from there to save us a walk to town.
Mirna, the manager, was extremely helpful and always took the time to chat when we saw her. She was very accommodating and was great with the kids. Some of the other staff had limited English, but were always willing to help and either called Mirna to ask her help with translating or sued translation apps. We always felt listened to and supported. We experienced nothing but helpful staff during our stay which makes previous reviews about the staff hard to understand.
Not many places I have visited previously that I would return to, but I would not hesitate to return to the Asur. Dalyan is such a beautiful place and has so much to offer for children and adults alike. You can’t go wrong picking the Asur as your base.
The hotel is very clean, rooms are pretty and equipped with everything you need and air con is available (and needed) at no extra cost. Breakfast was ample and the freshly cooked to order pancakes were delicious.
The owners were friendly and lots of people return here year on year.
It seems that the boat shuttle offered by the owners to the beach is no longer running (again advertised by Tui) however you can buy tickets from reception for the local water taxi and the small harbour is right next door, two minutes walk. This is also where you can get the ferry to go across the river and see the ruins at Kaunos, another holiday maker gave us a tip to not retun the way we went to the ruins and to turn left on our way back down the hill where we walked underneath the rock tombs, this was a fabulous view and worth doing.
Dalyan is a lovely town and livelier than I expected with plenty of places to eat about 15 minutes walk from the b and b. We enjoyed the restaurants next to the the river with views of the tombs and watched the turtles swim by, a little more expensive but the river and the views were the reason we booked to go to Dalyan.
Only one negative for us was from our room we could hear the music from the swimming pool bar into early hours of the morning which did keep us awake. The music was more akin to a nightclub and the same music is on a loop. Sometimes the bar man (very friendly chap) would not read the audience of the hotel correctly and lots were moaning about the music but didn't seem to want to complain. It was more fitting to a 18 to 30's holiday rather than the laid back atmosphere of the environment we were in, very strange. We did however politely ask him to turn the music down at 1am one of the nights because we needed to be up early for a trip, which he did and he was apologetic.
All in all a great place to stay in a nice town with plenty to do, history with Kaunos and the tombs, watching turtles swim by whilst eating at the Riverside, boat trip to the beach, boat trips to see local sights Inc mud baths!
The owners need to speak to Tui about their advertising of evening meals on offer and the boat shuttle that is not available, this is misleading.
Would we recommend this place, yes but ask for the music to not be so loud so that you can sleep!
The rooms were spotless, maids came in every day, we enjoyed seeing the different decorative pictures left on our bed it brightened up our day. The rooms have everything you need for self catering, especially with a small child. They even purchased us a new high-chair for our little girl which really was them going the extra mile.
The staff were all brilliant, made us feel so welcome, especially our little girl Olivia. So nice being greeted by friendly faces every day!
The apartments are a 10 minute slow walk in to the main town which we found to be perfect for us.
We will definitely return, hopefully May 2025!!
