Despite our efforts to engage in simple Spanish exchanges on arrival, having had a long journey, we were met with complete rudeness, total lack of customer care and felt as though we wanted to book elsewhere, but too late, we had already committed to 3 nights payment. We have travelled fairly extensively, both abroad and in the UK and have... More

A really beautiful historic, comfortable hotel in the old town of Avila .Centrally situated inside the ancient walled city this is a cosy, old hotel but with all the modern amenities. The only thing lacking is that there is no breakfast available, although the hotel does have a restaurant. However, there are many cafes and bars within easy walking distance.,

We stayed here while in Avila and found the location good but the services a bit limited, especially breakfast. Perhaps we were at the end of the season and we and the operators all a bit tired or perhaps our expectations were a bit too great, and had the same receptionist that booked us in been on throughout our stay... We stayed in room 306 in early November. The room was very comfortable and a 3 night stay cost just short of 150 Euros. Our only issues wer that you cannot park close by as it is right on the edge of the old city and that there was no wi fi. When we were there the hotel wasn't doing... More

We stayed at El Rasto Hotel for one night in May while on a road trip in Spain. It's a reasonably priced hotel inside the old city walls. There are some reasonably priced restaurants nearby and the location was nice for carrying exploring the town on foot. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

A friend & I arrived by car late in a Friday afternoon by car. We found the place easily & after unpacking the car we parked it outside the walled city where the parking was free & it was no more than 300 metres away. The lady at the front desk was nice & spoke a little English. Then we... More

El Rastro Hotel is within the city walls of Avila, yet a few blocks from the absolute tourist center of town. This is a good combination...close enough to be convenient and far enough to be quiet. Our room, while not luxurious, was spacious, clean and attractive, and the bathroom arrangements were perfectly adequate. Unfortunately, the hotel offered no breakfast option,... More

We booked a double room during the festivities of Easter, and we were given a corner room with street view, which was great. Tidy, big and well lit, and the bathroom as well. No noise or neighbourhood problem, but the wifi only funcioned in the reception. We did find a dead bug on a bed, but since it did not... More

Hotel El Rastro is just inside the Paseo El Rastro gate of the walls of Avila. It is conveniently located and you can easily walk anywhere inside the walled city. My single room was small, but clean and comfortable. The only windows looked out into a tall air shaft so there was little light or ventilation. The room had a... More

If you book for a single person you'll probably get one of the rooms looking out on an air shaft, with little natural light or ventilation. Also, the key system is annoying, because the card for the lights can't be separated from the room key, which you need to use to lock your door at night when you go to... More
