The people, fishing, food, location, lodging are outstanding. The people were helpful in all regards with out every need handled effortlessly, limited out on salmon, halibut, yellow eye, rock fish every day, "Chef" was the man preparing the best dishes, and the location is within feet if the Knik River. 5+ would be in order.

We just returned today from a spectacular trip to Alaska. Spent a wonderful week at the beautiful Anglers Lodge in Sterling Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula. Owners Mark and Julie and entire staff welcome everyone as family and provide such a warm and friendly atmosphere. They make sure you are taken care of with any needs you have. The location of the lodge sits directly on the beautiful blue green glacier water of the Kenai River with Salmon fishing right from the wonderful dock. The beautiful landscaped property offers a big fire pit, horse shoes, fishing equipment etc. The picturesque rustic lodge offers tasty home cooked meals and excellent service from the staff. The beautiful rustic cabins provide a comfortable peaceful stay with the true feel of Alaska. The staff at the lodge will book any fishing trips and any Alaskan adventures you have on your bucket list. The location of the Lodge sits right in the middle of the Peninsula with the beautiful town of Soldotna just down the road with all the amenities of a nice small town.
Come to Alaska and enjoy the pristine beauty and let Anglers Lodge your peaceful retreat while you discover the true magic that Alaska offers. This Lodge and it’s wonderful staff are a true Gem in Alaska.

Best fishing trip the 5 of us have ever had. We did 2 days on the Kasilof River and 2 days out of Seward on the ocean. All 4 days the fishing was excellent. We had Caleb and Braxton on the river both days and they did an excellent job. One day on the ocean we fished off the Jedi and it was excellent. The 2nd day on the ocean with with Donnie and Steve on the Grand Slam. They were awesome to hang out with and we had a complete blast. The staff at the Anglers lodge were excellent. Debbie greeted us and she did an excellent job. Mark, Fred, Valerie and Chef Mark were the best. Valerie was awesome every morning and we wanted to take her home with us. The food was excellent every meal and anything we wanted they had for us. I believe Frank was the cook in the morning and he would ask us what we wanted to eat and cook it immediately for us. Lorie in scheduling doesn't get enough credit from guests. She has a tremendously hard job behind the scenes and tries to accommodate what everyone wants scheduled. Good job Lorie. Best trip ever and we will do it again in 2 years. Thanks for everything..............Mike Moore............Colorado.

How do you book a place as 2 bedrooms when it is not? Then when we asked to make the two beds into king size beds the maid service just opts out, leaves it is as - 4 twins. We absolutely told the booking person that we were three couples. How do you set us up with 4 twins and two bedrooms total. I am not a fisherman and we were looking foward to hanging at a fun place. Sadly I am now sleeping on a pull out so not to be in the same space as another couple.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It is a full service Lodge on the Kenai River. They take care of all needs and you want for nothing. The staff, fishing guides and owners are great. From now on this is my go-to place. You can't go wrong staying.

My brother and I enjoyed five days of fishing. It was a wonderful experience.

The guides and the ocean boat crews were first rate. There were several fishing options from which to choose.

The supper meals were delicious. The host and staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was an experience of a lifetime!

Great location, right on the river. Accommodations were comfortable and the food that was cooked was delicious. The guides were terrific all three days, working extremely hard to find us the hot spots, which they successfully did as we caught our halibut limit each day. We unfortunately woke the owners up our first morning as we got ready to make the trek to the Cook Inlet at 4am, which we apologized profusely for. Then at dinner that evening, the owner proceeded to scold our bewildered group of adults in their mid 30's for waking him and his wife up, telling us that we should "think before we act". We "thought" we were at a fishing lodge that we paid good money for. Other than the owners' short fuses, the experience at the lodge was great.

We spent half the day with the guys at Anglers Lodge. Our guide Buck was fantastic! He was so helpful and knew great places to put in our lines. We filled both our King Salmon tags in a couple hours. The equipment was great. The scenery was beautiful! He kept the boat clean so the flies were not a problem. He took great care of us first time salmon fishers. It was one of the highlights of our weekend in Alaska!

Myself and three friends went on a "once in a lifetime" fishing trip to Alaska and we chose this lodge over others primarily because of the all-inclusive package they offered. Breakfast was a get it yourself type setup which was fine considering that you had to be ready to leave for fishing at 5 AM. Lunch and dinner were great with home cooked meals prepared by Chef Marlene who with her husband Roger own the lodge. She had her own vegetable garden from which the guests all benefitted. The room we had was very basic, no TV, but comfortable enough except for the bed which had a very noisy (I was alone!) and uncomfortable mattress. The lodge itself was great, exactly what you envision when you think of an Alaskan fishing lodge. There was a BIG TV in the lodge which connected us to civilization via satellite. Seems like since there was already sat TV on site that they could put a basic small flat screen in each room. I bring that up because the only major fault we found with Anglers was the family reunion that the owners had while we and other guests were there. I estimate that with their children and grandchildren there were more than a dozen of them. Until my friend mentioned to Marlene that the kids making a lot of noise etc was preventing anyone from watching/enjoying the Olympics on the only TV on site, it was quite annoying. From that point on she did what she could to keep the kids in a different section of the lodge when guests were present in the main part of the lodge. On more than one occasion I watched as guests stood in line behind family members to get drinks etc during meals. Bottom line is that it's their lodge, their family, and they can do whatever they want with either. BUT, since this reunion must have been well planned given that the family came from 5 different time zones around the States, I think it would have been appropriate to mention it to guests with reservations and give them the option to cancel or change the dates of their visit. The family running around day and night certainly took away that quiet, relaxing, Alaskan fishing lodge experience where fishermen sit around at the end of the day discussing the days fishing experiences and swapping fish stories from the past. One final note. As per information provided by an on-site fishing guide, and our own experience, don't expect to catch any salmon from the banks of the river on the lodge property. Apparently, as per the guide, a big storm a few years ago forced large ice flows down the river changing the composition of the bottom in front of the lodge. As a result of the new bottom structure, salmon no longer appear to stage there. We watched as fisherman directly across the river from us pulled in salmon one after the other while neither we nor any other guests I observed caught salmon at our lodge.

Marlene and Roger are outstanding hosts. There guides Drew and Chris are outstanding!! Can not say enough about the food. The fishing was great. The whole staff were unbelievable. The all day fishing excursions were perfect. Our flout to crescent lake was diverted due to wind, but they took us to another location and we all got our limit. Great trip!!!
