Anglers Lodge is a family-owned and operated business established in 1987. Our all-inclusive packages and comfortable accommodations provide a home-away-from-home experience for each of our guests. Mark and Julie are the new owners of Anglers Lodge along with their children. Mark is on sight to help you with your fishing needs and Julie is readily available to provide the warm hospitality that the previous owners set into motion 29 years ago. You will enjoy the family atmosphere, the beautiful garden, fresh-baked goodies, delicious home-cooked meals and the atmosphere for telling those great fishing stories at the end of the day! Our lodge is located on the banks of the World Famous, Kenai River in Sterling, Alaska in a park-like setting. We are full service fishing lodge, providing you with wonderful rooms, excellent food and a variety of fishing opportunities. We are happy to accommodate our non-fishing partners and can help recommend outings and activities throughout the Peninsula for your group to enjoy the beautiful scenery, see wildlife and enjoy Alaska's great outdoors. We are centrally located on the Peninsula and just a short drive from Kenai, Soldotna, Seward and Homer, Alaska.

The people, fishing, food, location, lodging are outstanding. The people were helpful in all regards with out every need handled effortlessly, limited out on salmon, halibut, yellow eye, rock fish every day, "Chef" was the man preparing the best dishes, and the location is within feet if the Knik River. 5+ would be in order.

Just spent a week at the Anglers Lodge. A great place with a wonderful staff. The onwers bent over backward to make sure my son and I had a great time. Located close to several fly out services. They had a great chef that prepared excellent meals. The supporting staff were friendly and always ready to accommodate our needs and wants. I could spend the morning and evening fishing from the front yard prior and after the chosen daily activity. The lodge arranged for our fly outs to different locations, it was seamless. We were given a daily itenary that told us where and when we needed to be somewhere it had all the onformation we needed. The owners did everything they could to ensure we had a wonderful vacation.

As one other reviewer stated, there is no equal place of this type! From the warm, friendly, hands-on staff, to the location, food, and fishing possibilities, it's all exceptionally great! This place and our experience there was the highlight of our week-long time in Alaska. Julie and Mark, Rod, Chef Mark, the river guides, everyone was genuinely caring and helpful.

Room Tip: It's a lodge, so expect semi rustic. But clean, well stocked, comfy beds.

I'm not sure there are enough superlatives to describe our experience here. First, let me tell you about how our trip ended. Alaska was on fire. We could not get back to Anchorage on Sunday as Sterling Highway was closed. After sitting on the highway for over 4 hours, we turned back to Soldotna. We called Mark (one of the owner's) and he said "come on back. We will take care of you tonight - on us." Little did I know, TWENTY EIGHT more guests who had checked out but could not get past the closed roads also returned. Mark and Julie and their staff welcomed us all back. They had rooms ready for all of us. They made us an incredible dinner (salad, rolls, pasta dish, lemon custard dessert)! We then sat around the outdoor fireplace, shared stories, and enjoyed the Kenai River until dark. Mark and Julie are amazing and they have created an incredible atmosphere for adults and families. We fished three days in a row (rainbow trout fishing, Salmon fishing on the Kenai, and a fly-out trip to the Great River Lake). We caught our limit each day (except rainbow day was catch and release), caught fish from the dock, and the guides were absolutely fantastic. Chef Mark made incredible meals each night for dinner. We had ribs, salmon, prime rib, the best chicken dish I've ever had - alp around a family-style dining environment where we experienced wonderful conversation with our new friends. Rod was absolutely phenomenal. He just knows how to treat people right. He worked tirelessly to make sure our needs were met and he did it with the level of kindness that is rarely seen anymore. We made incredible friends and it felt like we were gathered among family. We will be back soon.

Booked a fishing trip late July / early August. Been to Anglers Lodge a few times before, but not in a few years. Was overall disapointed with this lodge. There were over 30 people based out of this lodge while we were there. Everything seemed rushed and not well organized. We were in one of the castaway cabins which was not ideal since it was +/- 1/2 mile from the main lodge and the river. Previous trips to Anglers Lodge were memorable due to the fact that we could fish right at the lodge and few people staying at the lodge. You can still fish at the lodge, but more difficult due to so many people and especially if you’re staying at the castaway lodge. Also fished on the Tina Rose out of Seward, which was part of the package with Anglers Lodge. Beautiful boat, but not good fishing. There were 13 of us on that boat, which seemed too many. I was sitting on coolers and standing on the way out due to lack of seats. Don’t want to just complain since we were in Alaska fishing, so some of the positives was the fishing. Had a great run of reds this summer and the guides at the Lodge had the spots to make sure we got our limit. The location of Anglers Lodge is fantastic. Just pretty disappointed with this last trip due to total number of people at the lodge and the overall unorganized staff.

Wow this is very unusual as we pride ourselves in being organized. One thing you have to remember is booking late in the season for the two weeks everyone wants can have its downfalls. That is a very busy 2 weeks for us as our fishing is extremely good. All the folks that read this should take that in consideration. Most people will put up with the rat race as catching a 40lb King is on most every ones bucket list. Please let these folks know what you guys caught for fish. These folks booked in March before the season and the cabins are all that we had so please remember to book your fishing trips early and ask as many questions as you can. If you are looking for a more peaceful time to come to fish Alaska try August. The fishing is still incredible. Also remember to let someone know at the lodge the problems you are feeling as we are here to provide the best vacation we can. We will always make changes to solve any problems we can and don't wait until your gone to complain. We could have made a more pleasurable vacation for you.
