Steps in the history... You can discover the baker's house as reflected by the history in the Taschler Haus Boutique Hotel. The ambiance represents the history of the house. The customized rooms with names inspired by Saxon crafts, with mural paintings and individual specific decorations of that time are waiting for you.

Best place to stay in Sighisoara, in the Historic Center and near the old medieval walls of the unique last European inhabited Saxon citadel. Beautiful mansion, each room with original oak furniture and paintings which inspire the mind to the myths, legends and narrative stories about Transylvania.
The owners are warm, welcoming and open hearted people that wait guests with sweet treats and hand made cherry or plums brandy. The attention to the details, the perfect cleanliness make the visitor feel special and think about the value of the journey.

Called to say we couldn’t find the property’s nd the owner came out to look for us, organised the parking and insisted on carrying my case. We were told to help ourselves to anything, he had left fruit, sweets, local liquors and water and told us we could check out whenever we wanted as our room was not booked after us. The beds are extremely comfortable, everything was immaculate and the room was lovely. Everything you might need was there. The location is unbeatable, and on arrival, the owner gave us a walking tour map of the old city which was so helpful and we did it that afternoon. He also recommended a restaurant which was also excellent. The ONLY place to stay here!

I can't recommend this boutique hotel enough. It's right outside the city walls a 1 min walk to the clock tower), and very reasonably priced for the service and quality (it says 3 stars but honestly it's more like 4-5). Jan and Silvia are the owners and they couldn't be nicer. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a pleasant one. They upgraded our room to a suite, and it's the little touches that matter: free water, fruit, the breakfast (even though they don't have a kitchen, they are kind enough to provide fruit, croissants, yoghurt...) Tea and coffee are complimentary, and the room was absolutely stunning, with some nice touches like old furniture and decor, and local drinks and cookies. The bed was very comfortable. The location is spectacular to visit the citadel, and they even take care of parking. And great restaurant recommendations in town. Overall, if you're looking for a good base to explore Sighisoara, look no further. We'll definitely come back.

All the rave reviews for the Taschler Haus are confirmed by more awards than you can shake a stick at. Set just below the clock tower and above the restaurant area of the Piața Hermann Oberth there couldn't be a more convenient and quiet place. An interesting courtyard with old farm equipment, tables, games and two lifesize costumed figures. Jan's welcome was old-world gentlemanly with liqueurs and a guided tour of the magnificent rooms. Ours - the Tischler - had a large, beautifully furnished bedroom and a sitting room complete with a desk. As well as a bathroom and an entrance hall. Everything provided and a delight to meet the housekeeper Mariela, whose Italian is much better than our Romanian.

Hard to summarize a pension where the hosts poured countless hours to decorate, maintain and make this a truly unique experience. This was by far the best pension we stayed out during a week-long tour of Transylvania. The room was very spatious and beautifully decorated. Everywhere you look there are old artefacts, colorful painting. We were welcome with some house drinks and sweets. The breakfast in the morning was very nice as well and you eat in a beautifully maintained backyards. Owners gave us a parking pass which helped us park on the street below free of charge. Highly recommend to stay there when visiting Sighisoara as it is located right by the old town in a wonderful setting. Big kudos to the wonderful host couple.

On that august weekend, Sighisoara was fully packed and we could not find a place to stay.
We luckily found a room in Taschler Haus, a central boutique hotel.
The host is very nice and the room on the second floor had a view over the Clock Tower. All rooms are unique, having their own style. We had a modest breakfast, fruits in the room, tea and coffee.
The stay was nice and quite, they also have a courtyard.
This stay completed the authentic experience of the Sighisoara Citadel.

We were warmly welcomed as a family into Taschler Haus for our six night stay starting 9th July 24. A complimentary small bottle of home made cherry liquor awaited in our room as an arrival gift. We also found plentiful amounts of coffee and tea, bottles of water in the fridge and toiletries in the bath room, all of which were replenished daily. Our room was a suite on the second floor consisting of two single beds in a living/ sleeping area, a double bedroom and bathroom. The suite was immaculately maintained and decorated with rustic German influenced paintings, rugs, furniture and some ornimants.

Breakfast is simple but perfect - a small buffet of fresh croissants collected daily by the owners from the local bakery, water melon, yoghurts and coffee. Some cereals and bread for toast were also available with preserves. We loved sitting in the court yard each morning enjoying a slow relaxing breakfast whilst admiring the spectacular architecture of SighiÅŸoara.

Taschler Haus is within the UNESCO protected Citidel of SighiÅŸoara; the building is protected and therefore retains many original features that add to its charm and unique character, but it does mean however taking care on worn stone stairways and cobbled courtyards. There is no car park at the hotel, but cars can be driven to Taschler Haus for unloading and loading of bags, and parked in a nearby (5 minute walk) hotel free of charge by local agreement.

We knew from the hotel description before booking and from our correspondence with the owners during our booking process what to expect regarding the accessibility of the hotel, parking and breakfast, and must say expectations were fully met in every way. I would recommend you stay at this hotel if you seek individuality, a place that can be a bit tricky to navigate underfoot, are prepared to leave your car more than a few meters from your bed, and are happy to settle for a relaxing simple breakfast. If you're happy to settle for this, a very warm welcome awaits in a hotel that is unique, clean, comfortable and right in the heart of SighiÅŸoara.

Thank you to the wonderful owners who made our stay enjoyable and memorable for all the right reasons.

We spent two nights in this hotel. Great location - just a walk up the street to get to the citadel, main square and restaurants. The owners Jan and Silvia are very friendly, hospitable and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The rooms are furnished with old style furniture, paintings, painted walls. In every morning we ate fresh croissants, yogurts and fruits. Coffee, tea and water were free of charge. We were offered traditional drinks and some sweets at welcome. Also, they gave us free tickets for parking, very close to the hotel. Definitely we will be back for another city break in Sighișoara.

It was perfect! We booked 1 night at this magical place and we loved it so much that we upgraded for 2 nights.
The room was amazing, so clean, the furniture was so special, we felt like in a small fairy tale.
It is in the heart of Sighisoara, in the old town like a few steps to everything. Many restaurants, bars and also a big supermaket just near you. U can also see the Clock tower throw the garden. It is such a beautiful place, that makes you fell so good.
The owners are such a nice family! They gave us all the tips we wanted, free fruits&cakes, water, local drinks and they are also with big smiles on the face that made as such a beautiful stay!
They also provide free parking just few stairs down the house.
It’s a must on your trip to Sighisoara!

Taschler Haus is a very nice place to stay when visit SighiÅŸoara. It is very close to everything.
Super clean rooms, equipped with everything you need, super comfy beds and pillows.
Also I have to mention that we received a welcome package (with some fruits, sweets and local drinks) and every morning we had a plate with croissants or other things to eat. Coffee, water and tea are included - very appreciated.
Host is friendly and willing to explain what to visit, where to eat and so on.
Very nice experience, the details really make the difference in this case.
Hope to be back soon in this place :)
