Savri House is a historic building of Class A ( meaning” of national interest”), which makes it part of World Heritage Site (UNESCO). It is a veritable museum dedicated to the craftsmen, with old authentic handmade pieces gathered from all over Transylvania. The furniture is solid wood, refurbished to the highest standards, the whole process of restoration being carried out over a period of 7 years. The guesthouse is situated at the foot of the medieval citadel of Sighisoara, a two-minute walk from the commercial and historical centre. Each room has a unique style, both in terms of furniture and decor items. Each room has a private bathroom with best amenities offered (fine white towels, quality toiletries, slippers and hairdryer) including high-quality body care items. As a guest of our guest house, you will have access to the terrace overlooking the Sighisoara Medieval Citadel with picnic tables and barbecue equipment. You can also admire here the craftsmen’s working tools – objects that represent some authentic elements of our pension. We welcome you every morning with breakfast – traditional dishes, with aromatic coffee and juices, homemade bread, cheeses, meats and especially fresh local seasonal fruits.

I stayed at Casa Savri for 3 nights and it was the most wonderful experience I've ever had. The staff, especially Codrut and Teo were amazing and they made me feel so very welcome. They were so attentive and were making sure that I have everything I need. They also showed me the citadel and reccomended a local tour with Rares Sopterean (he has a PHD in history and he is both professional and funny). The city is wonderful, Casa Savri is located in a quiet area, exactly in the historic area of Sighisoara, the room was very clean and the bed was large and very confortable (I had the room Franceska, the one with the visible shower - AMAZING!). They also made sure that all the measures against COVID-19 were taken. The breakfast was very tasty and more than enough and they also had homemade desert (as an extra treat). All in all, it was a great experience and I can't recommend Casa Savri enough. I was impressed by the warmth of the staff and the beauty of Casa Savri, a true traditional fairytale. The only regret that I have is that I did not stayed a bit longer because it was a joy to be your guest. Thank you for giving me a memory that I will cherish forever!

Casa Savri is fantastic if you’re looking for a central yet chill, cosy and authentic place to stay during your trip to Sighisoara. We got the Franceska room which is the best choice for lovebirds/newlyweds/etc , as the host called it “the lovers room” - it’s a perfect combination of rustic and modern, with an amazingly comfortable bed and a glass-only shower right in the room. wow. the house itself has been carefully renovated, featuring lots of traditional decor (objects used in the good old days), flowers, a lovely chill terrace. Plus, you get your own direct access to the citadel and old town on the hill via the stairs that start at the terrace.

You have to realize when you use boutique style accommodations, that are in old towns you will have to adapt to the environment. Park on the curb in front of Casa Savri and go check in. Traffic will drive around. There are two parking lots which charge 10 Lei or $2 a day. Enough about logistics. Casa Savri has such a unique look and feel all you can do is enjoy it. The private courtyard, the uniqueness of the rooms, the direct and steep stairs up to the medieval town. It was very cool. Breakfast was fresh and excellent. The attendant we had, Theodore was fantastic, helpful and engaging. The gentleman who came the next day, not so much.

Unfortunately, today we visited the Casa Savri restaurant at the invitation of Codrut, who recommended himself as a supervisor. We decided to drink a wine, but due to the fact that he didn't show us a list of their prices and we were not properly guided, we choose a rosé wine, a common one I would say. We passed with amusement over the fact that we had to open the wine ourselves and over the fact that Codrut did not know how to pronounce the names of the wines. When we payed, over the fact that the wine was overly expensive, we did not receive a tax receipt although we insisted.Overall it was a very bad experiense.

The location is perfect - set only at 3 minutes of the citadel, has very beautiful traditional pieces and sets arround the interior garden and also inside the rooms. The room is very cozy, comfortable bed, very spacious bathroom, with AC in place and also a minibar. The breakfast was consistent and is usually served in between 08:30 - 10:30, there is also a bar where you can have coffe or drinks such as beers wines and so on and also there is a billiard table where you can practixe tour skills in the evening when nothing else to be done. The parking - from what i saw (for me it was not the case as i didn’t areoved by car) it’s really close to the building and tou can park there without problems in case you need. The place is usally very booked so it will be hard to find bookings if you are searching now for next week.

In June 2024 we stayed here one night in a junior suite. The suite is spacious, full with non functional “medieval” furniture and flea market junk. The room has airconditioning, a mini bar and water cooker. WiFi is good, lighting disappointing. The small windows can be opened. The bathroom has 2 sinks, a bathtub with hand shower and a shower cabin with shower in the ceiling. Not easy to take a shower without flooding the bathroom floor.
The bed is good, the pillows disappointing. Breakfast buffet is good
Paid parking is a few minutes walk from the hotel and there are many restaurants within walking distance. We didn’t see any supermarket within walking distance.
Staff at reception is very helpful and friendly.
The (frequent) smoking of some of the staff members on the terrace can be smelled inside the hotel. The locks of the room and main entrance need to be opened/ closed with large (15-20 cm) iron keys. The first time we left our room it took almost 10(!) minutes to figure out how to open the lock. An uncomfortable thing when you would have to leave the room urgently.

My daughter and I stayed at Casa Savri for two nights. I chose the hotel because it has a gorgeous garden and a true historical feel to it overall. It is beautiful and charmingly decorated. A few things to know:

• We had a huge room with plenty of storage. The bathroom was large with a good shower and we had ample room to spread out our things which is so nice when traveling.
• The location is fantastic. It is a short walk to everything while also being quiet and tucked away from street noise.
• We were always greeted with a nice hello from the staff every time we went in and out.
• The staff helped us figure out excellent, nearby parking for our rental.
• There is no elevator which was challenging with all of our luggage. Just know that the hotel is not handicapped accessible if this is an issue for you.
• We are vegan and vegetarian in our family. We were served breakfast rather than having a buffet. It would have been much easier for us to make our own choices from a buffet, but we did get a nice plate of fruit and veggies. We had hoped to eat outside, but were told breakfast was served inside. It also starts somewhat late at 8:30.

Overall, I would highly recommend Casa Savri!

The house is very warm, cosy and clean. The roomes are creatively decorated with traditional items but still have a modern vibe. The breakfast was a delicious mix of Mediterranean and traditional even though the coffee was not that great. We didn’t interact much with the staff but they were kind enough to inform us when the room was ready for check in. You have to cary an inconfortable big key with you in order in acces the house after the reception is closed. Overall recommended.

The Inn itself is charming! They did a lovely job on the interior including the rooms, dining room(formerly a stable) and the bar. It’s conveniently located in the lower town where there are 2 parking lots within 5 mins walk. It costs 10 RON (~2 USD) to park for a whole day and I feel it’s much easier than driving into in the Old Town up the hill.

Hotel staff was lovely and very helpful. Thanks Ioana!

The breakfast buffet is fine, nothing extraordinary. The biggest downside for us was a dog that barked incessantly at night and again in the morning. Needed earplugs. Not the fault of the hotel, of course but made for a less than stellar night of sleep.

Hotel is around 800 meters from the train station and very close to the old town.

The clerk at check was not very welcoming and we had to climb steep stairs with our luggage to our apartment.

The apartment itself was less luxurious than expected and its style was a bit outdated.

Breakfast was a bit too much with a huge plate with all kind of local delicacies.

Although we really loved Sighisoara, Casa Sivri was a bit disappointing.
