Friendly personal, clean, spacious room with jacuzzi. Good kitchen, fine food in buffet setup. The wellness section has various attractions. Just 4 points because they don't have open air pools. It's planned for next years.

First the positives. The hotel in good position , the room nicely updated ,good quality furnitures huge jacuzzi good quality TV. Good quality breakfast and dinner . The bath fantastic ,easily accessible from the room . The negatives. The man at the door in hotel uniform just ignored us and had no intention to help with our luggage . The so called “bio”bed was very average and the pillows were terrible. The hand washing dispenser fallen of the wall .The housekeeping . After cleaning..? we found the room the same like before . Cups and glasses left dirty. No vacuuming the room and washing up the bathroom. The Tv has only a few channel available for watching of many listed. The Jacuzzi control panel not functioning properly. At dinners the waiter only asked twice to sign the bill. When looked our drink bill at checkout I found a bottle of sparkling vine on it which we never ordered . I noted to the receptionist . She said OK I will take this item out. Just wonder how often could it happen with other guests ? Over all I found the hotel nice but but too expensive for the quality of it’s services. Need to pay a lot more attention to details . There’s lot to learn yet.

It's incredibly expensive and the quality is very questionable. We were with a family including a 17 months old toddler. The room was quite big but nothing was child friendly like they advertise it. The bathroom was a mess, I have never seen so badly constructed amenities at hotels before. Wall tiles were drilled several places and cracks were filled everywhere plus some holes next to another ones. It's clear that the quality of the construction is very low. A/C in our room was way too loud and our baby could not bear with its noise. The metals were very rusty in the bathroom and the window was not fully closable. Room cleaning did not happen in 6 days even tho we have put the signs to the door everytime. On the last day the cleaning lady has arrived but we were about to pack and leave so actually the room wasn't cleared for a week. The food was very varied, it was easy to eat different meals usually and most of them taste good. The dinner was also featured singer and keyboard player whic was good 2 times and awful the rest when it was clear that the singer was there just for money and no passion to sing. The drink was not included even tho it was said that breakfast and dinner is included. For dinner we had to order drinks and that were very pricey and selection was not wide enough. They have only one kind of dark beer, etc. Smoke free areas are not smoke free. People smoke at nearly all entries including the child outdoor area. The bath area was not child friendly. It was a rock hard surface for a child waterslide and adults were not allowed to get into the water. We skipped that altogether. Adult area was the same quality, there were 3 levels for the pools and outside the floor was slippery especially that it wasn't levelled but had a quite big ramp side. It's hard not to realise that the owner has a lot of money but zero sense of art, and the whole complex is just a badly designed labirynth. We tried lunch one time but that was small and not tasty, we went to other restaurants every other day instead of this. Parking is a joke. Huge parking area in front of the building and there's a turnpike for the hotel's residents' vehicles' entry and then at the end of that road there was a free road crossing so nothing was guarded, it's just illusion. When checking out and paid the bill we left. After an hour we realized that we forgot one swimwear in the room so I tried to reach the hotel, but they were not open to help me and they kept my belongings. The child care center was so small we did not even tried. In Gyula for a more than 3 times smaller hotel there was a much bigger playground area for kids. It's a shame mensan advertises itself as child friendly.

This is the second time that i was in MenDan. My room was in the building where there is thermae. These rooms are big and enough beatiful. Probably, rooms in the main building are better and new. Good food and service.

If you plan to stay in Zalakaros, there is no better option than to stay at this hotel. The entrance to the citiy´s spa is nearby and the hotel has its own spa that contain thermal water. Rooms are quite big and clean. There are lot of plants in the lobby and corridors of the hotel. Food was great and the staff was friendly and always helpful. Definitely worth of visiting.
