This hotel needs a lot of TLC!!! Lets' start with the positive things: - Good breakfast both for Westerners' and Asians' tastes - Friendly staff - Good mattress on the bed - Good dinner And the negative things: - The room is in serious lack of TLC. The walls are touched up with a different color that the original one. Looks like a Dalmatian dog - Dirty bed linen - The lampshades have never been dusted or cleaned and are full of mildew - Old stained bath towels - No face or hand towels - Old shower fixture - The sink doesn't drain in the bathroom - Dirty shower stall - Loud inside and outside, paper thin walls - The night manager doesn't speak a word of English - When they do your laundry, it comes back with stains and doesn't smell fresh

Overall the hotel was in a nice location. It is overlooking Sapa and some mountains. We stayed one night. The room was clean and had good mattresses and a balcony and was clean. The weather was quite cold, 4 degrees but that is what you can expect travelling to the mountains in Vietnam in January. The hotel restaurant provided some nice food which was included in the tour. In the evening it was quite cold in the restaurant as often the door to the outside kitchen was left open by serving staff. The heating in the restaurant only pointed to some tables, so you better find a table covered by the heating. On arrival the hotel receptionist and the tour guide welcomed us and provided us with an overview of amenities of the hotel. It has a Trekking shop on the ground floor where you can buy shoes and warmer cloths for the trekking tours which was quite useful. The night shift at the reception did not speak any English and asked me to put my question into Google translater. Eventually we got there. In the evening we went for a Spa treatment. The massage itself was very good but unfortunately due to the cold weather it wasn't as enjoyable as it could be even with the staff pointing electrical heaters at us. Overall we would recommend the hotel but think of the seasons in the mountains of Vietnam.

Stay in 2January here. The room was big and the amenities here was very good!!! It is very comfortable and also looks very high class. Safety box, bath tub, balcony, all was very good!!! And the staff working at help desk 1st floor is very helpful and friendly. Still remember that i wear a shoe that not suit for junggle trekking, and after listen to her advice, i bought i new trekking shoe on the spot. Luckily she advice me, if not, it must be very hard for me to complate my 12km jungle trekking 😂🤣 Cause my white shoe (Puma) is a sneakers 😅😅 So really recommended 👍🏻

Whilst the rooms are tastefully decorated and mostly clean (I did have a cockroach, but that’s not so unusual), the hotel service was poor. I booked a panoramic room months and months in advance, instead I got a view into someone else’s bedroom. This is because the hotel is under construction, the drilling and hammering are so loud and that’s why they didn’t give us the rooms we booked. They also didn’t inform us or offer us any discount until we complained. It is also NYE, after a lovely dinner in a hotel elsewhere, we wanted to come back and have a drink. Of course the bar is closed. No problem - mini-bar. However, the fridge is on, but completely empty. We went to the front desk to just ask to give us a few cans of beers but were denied. Overall it felt like a series of disappointments. The hotel is nice enough but the service is appalling, if you want to be hosted and have a good hotel staff who can do basics like stock a mini bar (in a room you did not book), I would not recommend this hotel at all. Would certainly not come back.

We stayed on the 7th floor of this hotel for 2 nights in December. Although the rooms have a/c and you can get warm in the room, the restaurant and lobby had no heating. As such we had to eat our meals in our outdoor overcoats which is not very comfortable. The 8th floor is currently a building site undergoing major renovations. There was building work happening all night the first night so we got no sleep. The second night the work started at 6:00am!! This is not conducive to guest comfort and it is suggested that rooms adjacent to construction should not be used. The Reception and restaurant are on the 5th floor, but there is a lift down to the 1st floor which provides easy access into the town via some steps. The views from the upper floors are wonderful (when it is not foggy) and it was too cold to make use of the balcony which is probably quite nice in summer. There was a safe in the wardrobe but it was broken so we were unable to secure our passports etc. The shower worked well. The WiFi was good.
