We stayed at Paos as part of an overnight stay on a Trekking Tour. It really was a lovely experience. Mainly because of the staff.
They spoke very good English and couldn’t do enough for you, from the reception staff to the gentleman out the front who organises the taxis.

The room was large, the bed was really comfy and unlike lots of other hotels didn’t have an uncomfortable gap down the middle.

Sadly because of the Corona virus the swimming pool was closed for H&S reasons, but they gave us a 30% discount in the Spa instead, which we took full advantage of. We had a 60 min hot stone massage, which at under 30 GBP each was very good value, it really sorted out the aches from trekking that day.

The breakfast selection was very varied and really nice.

Again, because of the virus scare, sadly the hotel was almost empty. Apparently lots of people have cancelled their reservations, which I guess is a worry. We haven’t felt like the virus is any bigger problem here than the UK. In fact it’s probably less as everyone is wearing face masks and there is hand sanitiser everywhere - probably why they have less cases than us.

The other thing to note, is don’t expect that a great view is a given, we only stayed one night and woke upto thick cloud, you have to expect that in the mountains :)

I would love to return to Sapa one day, and would certainly stay here again.

I was lucky enough to be guided to this hotel, outstanding views of the valleys and mountains all the way up to FanciPan, as soon as I arrived everthing was on queue, room ready and very friendly staff. The bathrooms are very modern with open shower, overhead shower with option of shower rail. The buffet breakfast is a very large variety of Western food and Asian food. The restaurant is nice food with from Rib Eye, Samon etc. The roof top balcony awsom views and same with pretty much the most of hotel, this was built very smartly. Town is 5 mins away which means it's very quiet and your not in the middle of all the noise. Well done to you guys at Paos!

Pao's Sapa Hotel deserves more than five stars. The facility was immaculate; everything gleamed. Everybody on the staff was kind and helpful; they seemed to care about us not because it's their job, but because they genuinely wanted to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Evening meals in the restaurant were among the best we had in Vietnam--which is saying a lot.

The hotel is away from the center of town, so it's quiet. It perches on the rim of a deep valley; rooms have excellent views of rice terraces and small villages in the valley below.

More than once during our stay, the hotel's convivial manager sat down with us and told us of remote areas outside of Sapa that general tourists do not see. As photographers, we were inspired by the manager's suggestions and, after he arranged for motorcycles and drivers to take us to those areas, we got many unique photos of the mountains and of the indigenous people.

Judging from the manager's enthusiasm for everything, we suspect that he inspires the hotel staff just as he inspired us.

Really cool hotel with a guaranteed mountain view. I stayed for 2 nights and it costed nearly the same price as my plane ticket to vietnam but I would say it was a luxurious experience. I would come here again with family or with a partner but not as a solo traveller as it is not budget friendly. It also about 2km from the sapa town up hill, full of potholes in the road. A shuttle bus service every 2 hours takes you to a from the hotel to Sapa Plaza. The view of the mountain from the lounge area is worth the price alone. The bell boys were polite and professional and so were the receptionists. Not everyone can understand English well but they try.
I would like to thank a receptionist in particular, Katie, for helping me find transportation (even on her off days) to places I would like to visit. Although you can haggle the transport prices lower with locals, it was very easy to plan with her and the prices she offered were reasonable. I cannot comment on other receptionists, but I trusted Katie.
I ordered room service(food) on both nights as it was too dark at night to venture to sapa town for food and I think the food is a bit salty and overpriced. They should offer more set meals, rather than whole dishes where you have to order rice separately. The breakfast buffet is a must-get, really delicious and such a spread.

Our stay at foggy Sapa would have been disappointing if not for the warmth of the super staff of Pao’s Sapa.

Attentive care, interest in our daily discoveries & advice on where to eat were appreciated and lifted the gloominess.

It is rare to find such energetic staff; their alertness was felt shortly after I clicked the booking confirmation when a What’s App message welcomed us from Sinh Keyni (Night reception team). Another enquiry from Sinh came when we were late in night arrival.

For those who appreciate fine architectural design, Pao’s Sapa will stand out in its practical use of curves. This is matched by interior decoration focussing on Hmong culture & designs.

The stunning view from our room overlooking the Muong Hoa valley was only seen for just a minute of clear skies before fog set in again. It was a premium room with
a large 2 person square bath tub fronting a panaromic window to soak in the view.

We hope return one day to appreciate the magnificence of Sapa, but this time in sunnier climes, and definitely staying at Pao’s Sapa with it super staff.

This is my second review, management asked me to delete first as was not favourable. An offer of free spa services or restaurant meals was the enticement but all I wanted was a tour fee refund due to cancellation for bad weather. Originally this did not happen but with a revised request eventually did. (As long as I removed my review) There was no mention about how long to remove 😉Room was as would expect, very big, clean with beautiful view over valley. Could not fault it except that the aircon air inlet must have been near where people smoked as on one occasion, after returning to room there was a smell of cigarette smoke.
Breakfast was the only meal we had and could not fault the quality and choices available.
My first review highlighted the problem some reception/tour desk staff had communicating in English and management agreed could be better.
My thoughts are that if you want to advertise/offer booking services on a world wide platform then you must make sure you can communicate effectively with a wide audience. Manager informed me that my comments have highlighted a problem and they are going to offer more training to new staff.
The hotel advertised complimentary shuttle service in their room manual into town but this is not correct. A small fee of 50 K VD will get you the 1.5 ks in.
The room manual also stated no noise in corridors or public areas of hotel but my experience is that when there is a huge corporate function with 200 + people bringing in many many VD then forget about the rules. We were woken about 4 am as the group started their bonding activities.
This place really only aimed at Vietnamese customers I think as I only witnessed a couple of other foreign guests.
If you want to be rated 5 star then you must ensure everything is perfect.
I my case it wasn’t. If you were rated 4 star I would rate you very highly but that’s the nature of the review system.
So I guess this hotel has a near perfect guest satisfaction rating and reviews but is that because anyone who dares criticise is bribed to delete their review???

Dear Mr. Hancorn, Thank you for sharing your comments about your stay with us. Without feedback, we cannot improve the quality of the guest experience at the hotel. Pao’s Sapa Leisure Hotel is a 5-star hotel therefore we always strive to improve our service to meet guest expectations. Being known for our great customer service these comments came as surprise and we would like to make things right. Firstly about the air in the room, we use an open space so that visitors can immerse themselves in nature and the scenery of Muong Hoa valley, so it is possible that smoke has come in from the balcony area. Almost all staff at the hotel are local people, so their English of course still has limitations. We always try to train every day to improve their foreign language level and deliver the best experience to our customers. About the tour cost, the cost incurred is the cost of moving to the top of the pass, so it can't be refunded because the weather is not good so you can't enjoy the scenery, which is out of our control. But in the end, we still decided to refund you to ensure customer satisfaction. The Hotel Shuttle Bus service is a complimentary service but it’s scheduled. And the transportation service at a very specific time would be charged a small fee as you have mentioned. We are happy to admit service faults that can happen and we will fix them immediately with appropriate service recovery. And in this case, we believe that our associates have made every effort to serve you, not for your review but for your satisfaction. We value the customer's feedback and we would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback will be shared with the appropriate team to make sure these issues are resolved. Thank you again for being our guest. We hope you will consider giving us a second chance to provide you with the level of service you've come to expect from our hotel. Best Regards, The Hotel Management

Loved everything about this place. Its very modern with big, big rooms and most importantly it's spotlessly clean. The breakfast buffet is enormous even the most picky eater will find something to their liking. The staff are so incredibly helpful and friendly. A word the the dinner menu its great and dishes are beautifully presented, great taste too. The hotel is located about a ten minute walk from the centre and the hotel offer a free shuttle bus to the square throughout the day. It's a surprisingly lively town which was evident from the noise rolling down the hill late in the evening. Grateful to be at a distance from it and able to get a great night's sleep. In addition to all the great things this hotel has to offer it has the absolute best views out over the valley. Below are views from my table and my balcony. Highly recommend this property

Love this hotel! The place was situated in a quiet district and a standalone building. The receptionist was friendly and attentive. Rooms were like your typical 4 star hotel standards, nice cozy and clean. we booked the room with the valley view but unfortunately it was too foggy so we couldn’t see much. Hotel was sweet to decorate the room for us. Hotel food was pretty bad, please do not order the fried rice.

To start with the positive, the views from Pao's are absolutely gorgeous. Such unique scenery and so glad we were able to enjoy it. However, we were extremely disappointed in our stay at Pao's. When staying at a 5 star hotel, we expected air conditioning... however, Pao's does not have a functional air conditioning system. Our room would not get below 23 degrees Celsius (76 degrees Farenheit). We talked with staff about this x3, yet they never fixed it. We ended up changing rooms and once again, we could not get the room cooler than 23 degrees. While not extremely hot, the duvet covers are thick quilts and there are no sheets. There also are no screens on the door, which made us hesitant to leave the door open. The windows did not open. We voiced our concerns to Pao's and they apologized, but did not offer a discount or services for our inconvenience. In addition to the lack of air conditioning, Pao's is by far the most noisy hotel I have stayed in. The rooms on our floor were open to the lobby. There was an event at Pao's on one of the nights we were staying there. The music from the event was extremely loud and made it challenging to even watch a show on our laptop. Our whole room was vibrating due to the noise. Due to these issues, we would strongly advise guests to consider other hotels. Pao's is much more expensive than comparable hotels and is not worth the expense.

3/5 stars. It’s a shame I cannot give this hotel a 5 star rating despite its beautiful scenic views, brand new amenities(including bath), very comfortable king bed, nice breakfast buffet, friendly staff and thoughtful touches with regular house keeping. I was quite disappointed by the non functioning/faulty air con in the room which simply did not reduce the temperature to what we desired despite the staff claiming it “was working”. In fact, I had to use a noisy fan to keep myself cool overnight. This is quite disappointing since we paid for a pricey premium room which we expected the best from especially since the hotel claims it is “5 star”. To me a 5 star luxury hotel achieves near perfection and cannot simply afford to have a faulty amenity such as a non functioning air conditioner in the room. It seems to me this is a systemic issue with a number of rooms in the same floor having the same problem with the air conditioner(I was able to see this when they offered me to move to a different premium room). I have communicated the above with the manager today and hope the hotel management will be making adjustments for future. I am sorry to say I would not be returning to this hotel in the future unless this issue is fixed especially given the price we paid.
