I don't know what the deal is with Canggu but there aren't many hotels in the area, its filled with hostels, homestays and small villas. The Kirana calls itself a four star hotel I can tell you it is nothing of the sort. The staff are very friendly and great however the hotel is quite dated and doesn't have the four start standards in place (staff, facilities, quality). The bathroom has flies all over the place its disgusting. The location is very good and central enough to a number of restaurants that is the only positive. They had a rainstorm during my stay and the water went through the roof so the entire hotel had water all over the place. I went to my room and there is water all over the room floor and bathroom floor this was not great to come back to. When I complained and asked for another room they said there is nothing they can do about it. I would not stay here again.…
After reading all the mixed reviews on this hotel, i was concerned about staying here but the minute i checked in to the hotel all my concerns went away. The room was nice and clean and everything in working order. Staff were also extremely friendly and helpful with any queries. The hotel is well located - the beach is not even a 5 minute walk and lots of shops, places to eat and spas outside your door. I could not fault it in any way. It is not a 5 star hotel and was never advertised to be but it’s a great hotel in its class. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely consider the Kirana for any future travel. It was great!
Filthy hotel. Filthy room with flies coming out of the bathroom sink all day and night. I left the bathroom door closed to minimize the flies in the room. Patio door didn't lock. Elevator out of service. Paint and construction everywhere once walking up the stairs to the room. It looks as though some guests may have had decent rooms. I was not one of them. Nice pool. Good location. Terrible hotel.
Although both location and staff are great, we would not recommend to stay here (anymore). It seems they didn't do any maintenance during the pandemic. Lot's of leakage and broken furniture in the rooms. The loud (live) music at night from the restaurant/bar next door is an issue as well.
We stayed at Kirana Canggu for 2 days. Everything was fine and the staff are very friendly and nice. They also set our room as a complimentary. The location is very strategic surrounded by many cafes, shop, etc and it is near the Pantai Batu Bolong (only 400 m from the hotel).
I completely don't understand these negative comments. Kirana turned out to be a great place. Breakfasts were delicious, the pool very large, the rooms nice and clean, and the most important are ... PEOPLE WHO WORK HERE! THE GREATEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD! I loved this place at first sight and I will definitely want to come back here. I love you Kiran ❤️
Booked twice in this hotel in a week's time, as i was really impressed with the hotel and staff. The location is perfect and close to everything, 5 mins walk to the beach, old mans and the lawn. Spa service was fantastic. The staff were amazing, always smiling and making sure you have a good stay. I loved spending my time with them at the reception. Booked a suite room in my first visit and stayed for 3 nights and after my 2 days trip to nusa penida i booked the suite again. The rooms are big and very spacious. Comfortable beds. Shout out to the reception staff. Lovely stay and will book again in my next trip
The hotel is situated near the Canggu Beach, rooms are clean and the stuff is nice. Swimming pool is very good if you'd like to swim in the evening. Unfortunately near the hotel is a reconstruction going on, so the surrounding is due to this not so nice. The hotel offers 3 kinds of breakfast which is average. Near the hotel is a supermarket and money change, which is good. And also a few minutes walk is a very nice yoga studio Serenity. If you want to stay a few nights in Canggu this is a good choice.
We booked this as the last leg of our wedding anniversary. I hate having to give a negative review but I hope my feedback can help this place to improve cause I see the potential but can’t justify the price we ended up paying for such place. We stayed in a Kirana room on the first floor at the end of Nov 2019 for 4 nights. Pros: - Awesome Location. It’s about a 5-7 min walk to Batu Bolong beach along with many restaurants, cafes and beach clubs along the way - Food options were cooked to perfection at the Kirana. For a set breakfast menu, everything was always cooked well and well presented. The mixed satay on the all day dining menu was also delicious - Security and Staff were all round kind - The Kanaya spa located on level 3 of the Kirana gave a good full body massage service Cons: - Rooms were run down. I happened to scratch my leg on a nail that was sticking out of the side wood frame of the bed - Bathroom appears dirty (mirror mould, what seems to be permanent yellow marks on the inside rim of toilet seats) - TV was fuzzy when we first arrived. I ended up telling the front desk about this and they sent their maintenance man to work on it which he did eventually fix after some time - The website mentions hairdryer as one of their amenities on their website. You need to request this from reception as it appears it’s either shared by all guests or they forgot to include one in our room. - The Kirana shampoo & conditioner and body wash was very watery, it was no point of even using it Some other minor observations: - Guests had to walk to the front reception each time they wanted to get a towel for the pool which was inconvenient. I feel something like this could easily be improved just by where you store your towels or procedure to provide one - Went to use the single treadmill at the gym but it was busted. Went for a jog around the block instead Overall I feel there needs to be a proper audit or review of the rooms and amenities by management of this place to be considered as a 4 star standard. …
The hotel is nicely situated in Canguu, next to all the local hotspots. Rooms are good and cozy. The breakfasts are very nice and consistent. Staff is helpful and kind. Only weak points were some maintenance problems in the bathroom but they were quickly solved once reception was notified. Special thanks to Harry and agent Ren for assisting us !
