We stopped here for a couple of nights in Canggu at the end of our Indonesian honeymoon. Really convenient location, walking distance from loads of great cafes, restaurants (and the excellent Canggu Tattoo Studio, if you are so inclined)
The beach is also a 10 min walk or 4 min Grab ride.

Bungalows were great with cold A/C and comfy beds. Lovely outdoor shower and covered porch seating area to watch the rain. It's a small hotel with only 8 rooms I believe so it's lovely and quiet and you can always get a sunbed by the pool.

Delicious dragonfruit granola bowls for breakfast

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again

This is a little oasis away from the hustle and scooter-infested streets of Canggu. Easily walkable to the beach, restaurants, shops, etc, and right next to a laundry, motorbike hire place, etc. But the place itself is calm and chilled, with a lovely pool (albeit small - only two people can really swim simultaneously) and shaded, pillowed verandas to shelter from the sun. Staff are friendly and helpful and the free breakfast is good. The only real downside is that these traditional Balinese bungalows have zero noise insulation. At night, the nearby Deus ex Machina blasts out obnoxiously loud music until midnight, and you hear every frog, bird and raindrop. Definitely a problem for a light sleeper like me. I also had a couple of communication issues: we ordered a car from the airport but they forgot to book it, and on check in they told us we were checking out 2 days earlier than we were, which caused some confusion. So best to just double check these things.

We stayed at the Calmtree Bungalows for 6 nights. We thoroughly enjoyed it.. the bungalows are lovely.. we wondered how it would be without aircon but the fans are great.. The staff are friendly and helpful and the grounds are beautiful... set in the middle of town but down an alley you wouldn’t know it was there.. easy walking distance to everything.. shops and restaurants and about 10-15 mins to the beach.. would recommend to others 😊

Calmtree Bungalows are a lovely oasis in Canggu. We enjoyed our room with its shady balcony and open air bathroom. The bed was comfy and air con cool. The only slight criticism was the pool temperature was like a warm bath and not so refreshing. Great budget stay.

Quiet setting with a beautiful garden and a swimming pool, in the center of Canggu. Not far from the beach, clubs , and close to shops and restaurants. There’s even a bazar close to the hotel. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. The bungalows are very authentic with comfortable beds and there is airco in the room. I wasn’t very fond of the shower which was outside.

A little piece of paradise and a haven of peace in a sparkling Canggu. And especially extremely well placed, next to all points of interest and exits of the city. For the price, there is really nothing wrong. Very friendly welcome.

Gorgeous pool area and everything was spotless (unlike the beach down the road!). Really quiet and lovely little haven with fresh cooked breakfast every day.

The rooms are lovely though we only ordered a room with a fan but really you need AC.
This is not five star like the Ritz but is five star in terms of friendly staff and value for money.

Wonderful location. Very calming setting with a lovely pool. The pool is the perfect temperature. We enjoyed the bungalows. I liked the benches on the deck to relax. Comfy beds and appreciated the mosquito net. The outdoor shower was also very nice. Incredibly friendly staff. The betelnut cafe just around the corner was very good. The breakfast included was a great start to the day. Would definitely recommend!!

Location was perfect for us. Down a side road off the main strip. Close enough to walk everywhere, whether it was beach, meal, shopping or night life. Quiet was key. The rooms were spotless. Staff couldn't do enough. Helpful amd so polite. A slightly rustic oasis tucked away.

Hi , it is a lovely place to stay. Not as busy as many places in Bali. Lots of young people around and some very good places to eat as well. I would recommend the Calmtree whole heartily as a great spot. Great breakfasts and nice family running it. Canguu is a good place to stay and not too bad with bikes but hey it’s Bali and they do love those wretched things. No problem to cross the roads. Hope you enjoy your stay😎
