It was my first time doing a surf camp and my first time to Bali, and I have to say I'm really happy that Wavehouse was the place I chose to have this initial experience. The dorms are amazingly spacious and modern, and the private room I later moved to was pleasant to stay in. The outdoor bar area is super nice, and has such a chill vibe to socialise with others or simply lounge around in your own company. I felt truly connected to the community of travelers I met there, which Wavehouse helped facilitate with the yoga sessions, fitness classes and social activities (on top of your surf crew of course) The people at the reception: Maudy, Maria and Valerine were always willing to help me out with any issues I had, and down for a chat anytime. The people at the bar: Ega, Era and Algo were always polite and helpful, as well as great conversationalists The surf staff consisting of Bukit, Wally, Adut, Allen and Wayan are absolutely amazing. They're such great help in the water in terms of positioning and timing on the waves, even giving you a push if it's looks like you're to slow to catch the wave. They're great fun to hang out with too. The head instructor Alex is really helpful with the surf video analysis and reading the waves. All the instructors were always willing to lend their time offering advice or coaching even outside of the official surfing lessons, and are passionate about helping you improve. I've learned a lot from everyone and would highly recommend the surf camp! The food is also really tasty with a wide variety of options, and their homemade Kombucha is really good. Compliments to their chef for creating such consistent, high quality meals! I have already booked my 2nd trip with them :)…
I cannot recommend this accomodation for only a surf holiday. The teachers have different levels of competence, especially concerning weather and wave knowledge. Feedback on one's own abilities is almost exclusively given afterwards via video analysis and not directly in the water as I know it from other surf schools. In addition, little value is placed on personal circumstances. At a catch-up appointment as an external guest, I was told "bad luck, no new chance possible" because I could not reach the course in time due to the tense traffic situation (which was obiously not my fault at all). Also, the number of the yoga classes did not live up to what was promised on the website. However, I also had a good time on the camp's premises. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The entire premises had appealing architecture and together with the facilities were inviting to relax and chill. The food was exquisite. And the location was very good since it only takes a five minutes walk to the beach.…
I always enjoyed travelling to Bali, but this time it was for surfing and I am happy that i took the classes from Wave House! I can’t thank enough the coaches. They were all friendly and professional, however especially deep impressions were made by Gilbert! His motivation and kindness, always with a happy smile made my classes more memorable and enjoyable!Thank you! I will be back.
Well, I will start saying THANK YOU for the hospitality and a stress-free atmosphere. The place is a great value for money! You get great breakfasts (healthy btw !!), clean and new rooms ( check out the Studio!!), pro coaches with a great sense of humor))) Besides, the guests are just like you: chilled, easy-going, positive))) Definitely recommend!!!
Whoa. Exactly how I imagined my Bali weekend would be. This place is truly relaxing and offers all the thrills. The atmosphere was perfect. The grounds, pools (there’s two), and common space were clean and well manicured. The rooms were very modern with a very cool indoor/outdoor bathroom - the shower is uncovered and open to the sky above...yes, you have your privacy but you won’t think twice showering under the sunset. Rooms have Air Conditioning, big comfy bed, lock boxes and all the typical amenities....except, there’s no TV. Which brings me to the social scene. If you’re looking to meet other adventurous travelers from around the globe, this place does a great job of helping guests get to know each other (yes, there’s definitely a Russian influence but lots of other countries too). At the heart of camp is a tiki hut complete with a full service kitchen/bar, beautiful wooden communal table and several small tables for lounging. The vibe is perfect with great music, huge menu, views of both pools, and smiling people. If you get antsy from sitting around the hut, the two pools offer a great place to cool off or practice your “pop up”. If you’re thinking of coming to Bali or landed on this review in search of surfing, you’re at the right place. The instructors are top notch, whether you’re a beginner or a professional-beginner, they tailor the location and lesson to the crowd. The instructors will put you in the right spot and if you need it, give ya a little “jump” to put you down the face of the wave. The board selection is decent and includes rash guards. The photo review after the day’s lesson is fun and useful for improving your swag. But why you really need to come here is for the people. Sure the Instagram shows off all the gorgeous, athletic coeds (they’re not lying) but it was the local staff that made the trip complete. Everyone from the surf instructors, to the administration, to the drivers make an effort to say “hi” and bring you into their social circle. It truly felt like a home, away from home. Big shoutout to my people. Fev the friendly Magician. Melissa, Indo’s very own Malibu Barbi. Adut, the guy who’s living the life you wish you had. Alex-Alejandro, the fiery Spaniard who will level-up your surf-game. Dhani, the lovable photographer who will level-up your Instagram-game. Many blessings & apologies for butchering your names. -evan (Rob)…
This was the highlight of my vacation. I had such a fun experience learning how to surf, and at the same time in good company - both by other guests and especially the coaches. The coaches are super friendly, helpful and also very fun. They really know what they are doing. They take their time with each student and try to explain and demonstrate as much as possible, until every student gets the hang of it. Special shoutout to Sofyan and Timmy, for being such fun and cool coaches! They taught me so much and at the same time made it super fun :) I would not have been comfortable or confident in the water without their knowledge and skills. Will definitely come back!!
I had 10-12 surf lessons with this camp without accommodation so I will try to highlight the pros and cons only of surfing experience. Pros: They have great facilities, good boards, they provide lycra and sun protection, they use Glowfox app for easy lessons booking, each lesson they try to put on the different spots so you could have a different experience. Cons: Low quality of coaches. Most of them are Indonesians who have poor English, sometimes they just waste the time of the lessons by surfing on themself without giving proper instructions on the water and not giving detailed explanation after. They have only one coach who does his job - Alejandro (Spaniard) who works really hard to teach people surfing, he speaks great English and does his best to see your progressing. He is funny and you are getting pleasure to work with him. But he is only one for 10-15 students so you can't always have the lessons with him.…
The most important conclusion of my following review is that I'm going to come back to the Wave House Camp in next year. Why you should visit this Camp? 1. Accommodation: expectations from the pictures on the Instagram correspond to reality. Rooms, beds, shower - in excellent condition. 2. Breakfasts: amazingly tasty! There is no buffet, but there is a feeling of a real restaurant with excellent cuisine. 3. Surfing: 6 times a week for different levels of skills. Professional and adequate trainers who supports you during your surf sessions. 4. Additional trainings: surf fitness, yoga, pool training: everything there helps you to become better. 5. People and atmosphere. Of course, this point depends on you, but my surroundings there were mega nice, friendly and helpful. 6. Bonuses: good price for all additional services; suitable for solo tourism; convenient location; great photographers like snipers with a camera; the cutest cats and dog; the best office managers ever;) 🤙🤙🤙…
They have good food and nice service. The best photographer “Dani” who helps you with everything you need! What’s not okay is if you want to insure the rented surfboard!!! You have to pay every single day 45’000 IDR even your not surfing and taking a day off or traveling away for two days. Not faire!!
Stayed here for 10 days, and would like to say that it is a perfect place to try surfing, meet new people and explore the island. Everything was thought out to the detail: a lot of breakfast options, airport transfer included, transfer to the surf spot. Coaches were also very attentive and kind. Ready to come back some day)
