I stayed just one night here and wanted to like it as much as the other reviewers did, but afraid not. Check in was easy and friendly and they let me check in few hours early. Room is cute w charm and somewhat clean but very dated. The shower is not great. You must hold the shower head the whole time to avoid getting the entire bathroom wet. So I basically sat on the edge of tub and gave myself a sponge bath. The floor in the bathroom is old and stained with dirt, same w toilet bowl. I went out for the day and came back to my room to a funny smell and noise. It was the toilet... The flush handle on toilet needs to be manually put back in place after flushing, otherwise it will continue to run. It would have been helpful if I had been told this when shown the room. The sink is oddly in the room with bed etc, not in the bathroom. In mine, the faucet had holes in it and sprayed everywhere, soaking my toiletry bag. Towels did not smell fresh. That night I went out and came back around 1am. Apparently there is a large streetside gate that encloses the hotel and parking area and it gets locked each night. At what time, I have no idea? No one told me about this, but I put 2 & 2 together that the other key on the key ring was for the gate. Thankfully a friend was with me and was able to open the door, as my efforts were unsuccessful. I would have been stuck outside alone with no way to get in touch w hotel. As I was checking out, I needed a taxi, (car not bike). Grab app wouldn’t let me get picked up at hotel and the owner just shrugged and told me to make pickup on corner of street. I said it’s too far and my 3 bags are too heavy for me. He did nothing to help. Didn’t even help w getting my stuff to hotel exit. So I lugged my stuff down the road and a street vendor helped me get a taxi. Oh and no one around to help w checkout. I just left my key on table. All in all- overpriced hotel for quality of room and unfortunately for me some of the staff. The cleaning ladies were very nice as was the woman who ran the place as well. Just stay elsewhere if you want an easier experience.

Tehila house is like travelling used to be, communal places with people have real life interactions with each other, and It is a lovely. I can highly recommend Tehila house to anyone travelling to Canguu. The Pros 1. Location right in the heart of Canggu 2. Friendliest owner and team 3. Friendliest guests 4. Sweet touches like personalised welcome note and a goodbye printed picture 5. Original quirky room decorations, with AC, ensuite 6. Free unlimited water, which helps the world. The only small things to note is that this is not a 5* hotel, the rooms are a bit dated, but this is what gives the place character, and the overall vibe of the place is amazing and you wouldn't get that in a soulless 5* hotel. I loved my stay here, and I would go as far as to say it is the best place I have stayed in a long long time. If only more hotels had this charm and friendliness.

We were thrilled with our stay at Tehila House! Although we were only there for two nights, we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Anita and her team (including loving fur friends) were so sweet, accommodating and helpful with any of our inquiries. The property is GORGEOUS with a beautiful garden, pool and pond with a gazebo in the middle with a walkway and fish... it feels like you are staying in a Bali jungle oasis, and yet right outside of the property you are in the heart of Canggu -- one of our favourite areas on the whole island. It is walking distance from wonderful cafes and boutiques and one of our favourite restaurants (Dua Tiga) and we were also happy to have a scooter and helmets to rent from Tehila House (at a great rate) to explore further from the property as there are many cool areas a short bike ride away. The room was lovely - clean, comfortable, strong AC, beautiful details (including a personalized welcome note) and we were very happy with it. On our last day, they were celebrating a staff member's birthday and included us in the Indonesian feast -- a kind gesture that followed by a photo of us on the property and thoughtful handwritten note to send us off. Those personalized details were unforgettable and made our trip even sweeter. We only wish we could have stayed longer as it was so nice to spend our time there. Thank you Anita and team for a beautiful stay at Tehila House. We would love to visit again and would highly recommend anyone book a stay with you while in Canggu.

I stayed here near the start of my Bali journey in April and was blown away by the hospitality and welcoming chilled vibe. The heart of this place sits in the communal area where people from all walks of life come together to share everything and anything, it's also a great place with lots of little hide away areas if you need some 'Me time. The gazebo in the the middle of the Lilly fish pond is the perfect place to read and relax. Anita and her team are always on hand to help any way they can. So much so that after a couple of weeks of travelling the beautiful island of Bali the Bali belly experience got me. So I rebooked myself back into Tehila House, as a solo traveller, I knew I couldn't heal alone and I was welcomed with open arms in my time of need. Anita knew exactly what I needed and after following her recommendations I was back to myself within a couple of days. The fantastic Tehila team made sure I had everything I needed and gave me the space to get back on my feet. I will always be forever grateful and will highly recommend this beautiful majestic House to all travellers passing through Canggu. The rooms are perfect, the pool is gorgeous and the staff treat you like family. Thank you again for all that you do, you made my holiday very special 🙏

This is perfect for People looking for a place which is a home away from home. I don’t like dogs and even I fell in love with Anita’s cute dogs. The place is great for people who don’t want to stay in a hostel but would like to also get to know people while they are traveling. It has an open living room situation. with kitchen and a gazebo surrounded by water which is the best place to chill, read and even have a nap. There is free water, tea and coffee all day and very friendly staff. They will help in any way they can, nothing is too much for them. The bathrooms are a bit retro as Anita tried to keep as much of the old structure but everything is super clean. You can really see how they have modernized the house. It’s located in a super central area but in a quieter street and the place is very tranquil which is nice to come home to after a buzzing day in Canggu. I’ve met some of the nicest coolest people while staying there and will definitely return!
