Visited Bukavu for a seminar and stayed at Coco Lodge. Very pleasant stay with a spacious room and very comfortable bed. Fantastic restaurant and the owner, Carlos, is extremely knowledgable, friendly and helpful. Even going as far as staying up late in the evening to print documents for me. Definitely worth stopping over on a trip through Bukavu.

We stayed at Lodge Co-Co for one night in June 2016 as part of our trip to see the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi-Biega. The hotel was exactly what we needed after a tough day of trekking in the forest. The shower was hot and plentiful, the bed really good, the room quiet and the restaurant's food delicious. We especially liked... More

This review is only for the Co-Co restaurant and not the hotel. There is a large outdoor seating area in the back garden. Be sure to pick a comfy seat as you will wait for ages for your food to arrive. However, the owner is very friendly and makes the rounds to say hello to each table, trying to keep... More

Once you enter the premises, this place is magical! It will transport you to another world. Carlos the owner is amazingly hospitable, caring & helpful. He helped us organize the most amazing & memorable trip to Kahuzi-Biega, truly a world wonder. And he helped via email even before we met! The well kept secret is that Carlos was instrumental to... Among the few restaurants in Bukavu, Coco Lodge is by far my favorite. The food is good and fresh, I recommend the pizzas prepared in a wood stove in one corner of the huge but albeit cosy dining area. Drinks as well are good and the staff is very friendly and quick. On Fridays, there is live music played by... More

The service at the restaurant is quite bad: the waiters are not pro active enough, they forget what your ordered (even if they write it!) and they sometimes bring you wrong meals. When you pay they will try to give you back teared up dollar notes (which are not accepted in Congo and which you cannot use anymore). Drinks are... More

My office was opposite Coco Lodge, and we used to head over there for after work drinks which would then sometimes turn into dinner. The Pizzas there are wonderful (but they are only available in the evenings). I have to say I love the staff who are really helpful and friendly

A group of 4 colleagues stayed at Coco Lodge over this last weekend using it as our base before visiting the low land gorillas in the Kahuzi-Biega National Park. The accommodation is very good with well appointed rooms on the second floor. Power can be an issue however the rooms have solar power back up so there is lighting but... More

One of the best places that I have beel lodged in the DRC. Internet is fast, food is delicious and is a perfect place to spend one night in transit or to use as a base to discover the wildlife in the Kivu. I would recommend Coco lodge to anyone that goes to Bukavu.
