We spent last week in Alaska to experience what is is like to fish in Alaska. I have heard so many great things, and Tyland and Damon were the most gracious tour guides, concierge, and genuine people. They treated our group like VIP's and were always available to answer any questions we had. I will always use Alaska Fishing and Lodging when I am out there. Cant wait to go again! Thank you!

Great guides!! The best guides on the Kenai River! I was invited on this epic fishing trip by a long time friend and was skeptical about the cost at first, turns out it’s worth every penny. I had not fished in decades and decades ago when I did fish it was casting without catching. Also I have never fly fished or even held a fly rod. Day 1 we go out with Damon. Damon tells me everything I need to know and do to catch sockeyes. I don’t get the casting exact but I’m getting the line in the right spot and Damon doesn’t micro manage or attempt to tweak my rookie casting. While waiting to catch a sockeye Damon would tell great fish tales from years gone by, very entertaining and informative. When I got a fish on Damon walked me through getting the sockeye in the net. It was fantastic. We didn’t leave until we caught our limit. Tyland (Ty) is the owner and guide I fished with the rest of the time. Ty was helpful, entertaining, polite, funny and would do everything in his power to make my stay in the cabins and fishing great. A group in our camp went halibut fishing 2 days prior to us. After the boat trip they had to wait 2 hours to get their fish processed by the deep sea charter Ty set up, the same charter we were to use. When they told Ty the next day while on the river Ty immediately changed our charter. When our charter returned to the dock on halibut day, our fish was already processed. We walked off the boat with filets. While on the river I saw numerous other guides that did not give the attention and focus to their clients that Ty and Damon gave our group. Other guides would wander off, not coach the clients how to land the sockeye and just not give the attention that I became accustomed to on my trip. The unforeseen bonus to staying at the camp was meeting and enjoying the company of the other clients. We would all process the fish together, throw some on the bbq or smoker, have an adult beverage or two, talk and laugh. It was great!! It’s not required to assist in the fish processing but it’s a blast. Cabins are 5-10 minutes from Fred Meyer, Sportsman’s Warehouse and lots of really good restaurants. I called this a once in a lifetime trip but already have plans to return next year for another once in a lifetime trip.

Had an amazing trip. Tyland works super hard to make sure you have an awesome time. Cabins are nice and clean and all I would ever need. This is also the best value in Kenai fishing. I highly recommend it!

Tyland spent a great deal of time on the phone with my husband and I to develop a stellar plan for our seven days with him. We had different types of fishing trips planned including a float plane trip for fishing and bear watching. Then the pandemic hit and we were forced to cancel our trip this year. Per the contract, Tyland did not have to give us back our entire deposit BUT HE DID! This is a really decent and honorable guy. We will absolutely plan to rebook our trip with Tyland as soon as possible.

After waiting 6 years as a promised to my father to go fishing in Alaska, we had to cancel due to the COVID. It was devastating news for us and probably more so to Tyland. He was very understanding and easy to work with and we came up with an agreeable alternative in short time. It's a level of customer service that is very rare this day in age. We look forward to our trip in the future!
