This was a great getaway (thanks to our wives) for me and my buddy James. We spent an incredible week in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. And the only thing that could top it, and did, was staying at the All Alaska Outdoors Lodge.

Bob Ledda and his wife Suzanne have created a wonderful paradise on the Kenai Peninsula. They have delivered that real Alaska home feel with their spacious, fully equipped log cabins, and wonderful amenities like an outdoor grill, fire pit (near the cabin and down by the water), and a beachside play area.

Of course, if you are looking for more than just a getaway, Bob and Suzanne have that covered as well. For James and myself, this was a fishing trip of a lifetime. We are both hobby fisherman, but neither of us had done any river drift fishing or fly fishing, and certainly not in Alaska, so much of this was completely new for us.

Bob helped to put together a multi-faceted trip with upper and lower drift fishing as well as shore fishing on the Kenai River for King and Sockeye Salmon, Trout, and Dolly Varden. Add to that an offshore multi-species deep sea fishing trip out of Seward in the Prince William Sound where we limited out on Halibut and Rockfish and even caught some Lingcod.

As if all of that weren’t enough, we took part in the Ultimate Expedition Flyout. We flew out in a Float Plane over the Alaska Range and were able to see active steaming volcanos, glaciers and ice fields, and even brown bear populations running over the grassy plains. We flew to three separate remote locations where we went after Sockeye, King, Lake Trout, Grayling, and Dolly Varden. We even took our own side trip to the Ninilchik River where we hiked in to fly cast for Kings.

Everyday when we would come back, Jason, one of Bob’s employees, would do a masterful job of filleting our catch of the day, cleaning it, vacuum packing it, and freezing it in preparation for shipment back home.

Thank you to Bob and Suzanne, Jason, and to our pilot and all of our guides (Titus, Monte, Dan, Zach, Bryson, and Cody) who showed us lots of new tips and techniques, and helped complete this fabulous trip for us.

All in all, we could not ask for a more perfect trip. We are both looking forward to coming back and bringing the whole family next time (activities here for the kids too). I highly recommend the All Alaska Outdoors Lodge to anyone looking for that perfect getaway.

My family just spent a week at this beautiful place, and we are already talking about going back. Our log cabin suite located right on the serene waters of Longmere Lake was absolutely perfect for my family of four. My daughters (12 and 16) had their own space upstairs and could go down to the water by themselves (I could hear and see them from our room, which gave me peace of mind while giving them their space), so they were happy. The staff were all wonderful- knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. They, along with their partners for various day excursions, made sure we all had exceptional, memorable experiences. We did the fly in fishing trip with Talon Air, and not only caught fish, but caught several glimpses of wildlife that some of us just don’t see in the lower 48! For someone who has only seen bears in a zoo, watching them play and thrive in their natural habitat was incredible.
If you’re hesitant because of the two and a half hour drive from Anchorage airport, don’t be. There are plenty of places to stop, stretch, take photos, and enjoy the spectacular scenery. Airline tickets may be pricey, gas prices have increased, and things in Alaska aren’t cheap, but I promise that your experience at All Alaska Outdoors will be worth it. You can’t put a price on creating lifelong memories!

My wife and I have been traveling to Alaska for the past 33 consecutive years and have stayed at a number of fishing lodges from Kodiak Island to the Kenai Peninsula. All Alaska Outdoors is the one place where we have stayed that offers everything that someone going to Alaska to see the real Alaska. From remote fly-out fishing to Ocean Charters, to river trips to flightseeing and hiking this lodge tops them all. The accommodations are outstanding with very spacious housing units with all of the amenities of home and the the lodge grounds are inviting and very asthetic. All Alaska is also one of the only lodges that processes all of your fish for you, boxes it up frozen and vacuum sealed all ready for you to take home on your trip home. All Alaska has very competitive prices but for what you get no one does a better job, and we know.

Our family just had a once in a lifetime experience in Alaska with All Alaska Outdoors. The lodge is clean and peaceful with everything you need including a grill, full kitchen and a trout pond right out in front of the lodge where we caught dinner for one of our nights! The staff is amazing, from Suzanne the owner, to Tessa, Monte and Jason. The fishing guides are great with kids and know how to catch fish and show everyone a good time. From Eric Locker to Jim McCormick to Lawrence and Aren at Talon Air, and Lucas Weldin up on the upper Kenai- everyone was amazing.

The separator though for All Alaska is the experience of jumping in Bob’s (All Alaska owner) plane and allowing him to show you his favorite spots in Lake Clark National Park, from Twin Lakes to Crescent Lake, home of the largest concentration of coastal brown bears on the planet. Bob’s 25 years of knowledge of the park and fishing spots is unmatched. If you like fishing 80 miles from a road in crystal clear lakes and streams with no one around for grayling, lake trout, char and rainbows, then the Ultimate Fly Out with Bob via All Alaska Outdoors is the trip for you. Did I mention flying through mountain passes and by steaming volcanoes with Bob on the way to the fishing grounds?

Alaska is a big place with variable conditions and weather. Bob and his team at Talon Air and his group of guides are able to get you to beautiful places and beautiful fish in a way that rigid plans and limited versatility outfits cannot do. In the end, this versatility is everything to enjoying the best of Alaska.

The trout fishing on site along with the grill and fire pit really made put our trip over the top. The accommodations were superb the beds were comfortable and we had plenty of space for our belongings. They have coolers on site for use. A must stay while in Soldotna or the surrounding areas.

The trip was completely planned and all the "bucket list " items we wanted to do happened.
From Halibut fishing in Cooks Inlet, Salmon fishing multiple ways, dog sledding, whale watching. and seeing bears and moose in nature, all was perfect.
Their hand picked operators they use were individually picked and I think the best of the best is what we got.
This doesn't even come close to saying how nice and accommodating the entire lodge group was to make the experience great.

This is the 17th consecutive year in a row we've stayed at AAO LODGE. We can afford to stay just about anywhere we want and we love AAO. They allow us to manage our fishing trips in a manner that is both convenient and enjoyable. Their Ultimate Expedition fly-outs are our favorite. The facilities are very comfortable with full kitchens in all of the units and the lodge is very conveniently located less than 8 miles from Soldotna. They include all fish processing as part of your stay. Bob Ledda and his wife Suzanne are great hosts. Rates are excellent and we love this lodge.

This place is top notch. Easy to reserve, welcoming and accommodating. Tessa and Bill were great at being sure we were where we needed to be with written updates as to day/time of our excursions with phone numbers and directions included. Just made it easy for us. The cabin was clean and comfortable and had just about everything we needed.
