We spent three nights in two cabins with our two teenagers in late July. The setting is fabulous, the cabins perfectly fine and we were quite happy with our stay. Loved the kayaking, hiking around the spit and up the ridge, running the road toward Seldovia, wood fired hot tub, camp fires on the beach, eagles, otters and loons everywhere, fish for sale, well stocked cabin. The setting is spectacular. Kristy the owner has a great aesthetic eye - her décor is lovely. We brought three nights of food and supplies, and cooking was fun and easy. If I have a nit to pick (and the nits are minimal), double beds are small if you are 6'4" (and I am). It is expensive, on the edge of being a bit over priced. But, the market drives this I suppose, and I don't have any regrets. Kristy was very nice. Rest of the staff pleasant, but clearly on the job. If you want to get away in Kachemak Bay and also get a feel of the world around you, this is a great option. Thanks for a great stay! Bill

Our time at Between Beaches was probably the most magical experience we’ve ever had. Honestly, there are no other words to describe BB. I have read the other reviews before and after our vacation, and the key themes that keep circulating are the experience and adventure. Our time at BB was a vacation that was long awaited for. We had originally made reservations for June 2020, but due to the pandemic we were not able to make it. Kristy and her team were kind enough to hold our reservation and honor it in June 2021. There were a few hiccups in our arrangement and timing, but not enough to overshadow our time there. Honestly, the hiccups involved a few miscommunications. I know that it was also related to being short staffed this year. Myself, and two of my girl friends, stayed in the Pioneer cabin for two nights. One of my friends had stayed there before and knew what to expect. We brought our own food and cooler. I feel that this vacation was exactly what all three of us were needing. Remote. Rustic. Beauty. Serenity. Our weather was perfect for two days there. We slept comfortably at night. We ate well, never go hungry. We watched the sunrise in the bay while drinking coffee and watched the sunset across the inlet while drinking wine. We spent our time talking, decompressing, and listening to nature. The waves, the wind, and even the Eagles gave us so much to think about. We knew that this was going to be a rustic and remote experience. I was happy to have running water, electricity and a place to shower. Think of it as a more glamorous way to camp. I know we will always hold this place special in our hearts. We would, without a doubt, stay here again. Some important things to remember, especially after reading some of the reviews: 1. You are in Alaska. They run an Alaskan time. Sit back and relax. 2. You are on a small spit of land and will be dropped off from a boat. Plan accordingly, your shoes might get wet and you might have to walk a little ways. 3. Seldovia is at least 10 miles away. The only way to get there is if you have a boat or call the city taxi. In June it was $30 each way. 4. You are remote. There are no supplies to buy if you forgot anything. That includes food and water. 5. Luxury might be used to describe BB, but think of it as a step up from tent camping. Luxury describes your experience and time there. Think on Alaskan terms: rustic and remote. It still feels like home away from home. Again, 5/5 stars. Would stay here again. Highly recommend to couples, girls trips, and adventurous types.

What an amazing and special place. We stayed at the Beach House, which was fully appointed yet quaint. It is a quiet place since the only way to get there is by boat or plane. Clams, oysters and crabs are available on the beach for the taking on the one side and tide pools abound on the other. Kristy, the owner and her sons make you feel like you are one of the family. Will never forget!

This is a one of a kind vacation! A wonderful place to unplug & experience the true beauty of AK! If you're lucky the wildlife puts on a great show, easily enjoyed from either beach. My favorite way to pass time was to sit in one of the many cozy Adirondack chairs they've set up or stretch out in a hammock with my book, or the eagles to keep me company. Choose from kayaking, tide polling, bird watching, clam digging, hiking and so much more. About a 25 minute drive into Seldovia or a water taxi to Homer for a day of exploring. While I was there Kristy had some salmon for purchase. My phone worked perfect on the MacDonald spit but in Seldovia you'll want to stop in and enjoy the local scene (and wifi) because chances are you won't have reception. This is the perfect vacation for someone who still loves camping off grid but also appreciates a comfy bed, running water and did I mention?! A hot tub and a sauna with the BEST views! I can't wait until I get a chance to go back. Kristy is a kindred spirit and I loved talking to her. This is very much a family business. A lot of hard work has gone into creating a place where people like me can come and recharge. From the placement of the cabins, the artwork all around the property and the scenery that no camera can truly do justice to.

Not luxury Difficult to leave without a water taxi Literally no food or drink available so bring everything unless you have brought a boat to go shopping. Listen, after getting a refund from this place I told them I wouldn’t review so I won’t speak anymore to my specific experience, however, please email me at jenndurm@Hotmail.com if you want other suggestions, with equally outstanding views and when they say rustic luxury, they understand the word luxury. I spent 3 weeks up and down the Kenaii peninsula and Seldovia, I will have a YouTube video up soon with suggestions The ONLY reason I’m even writing this is I lost 2 days of the most fun trip of my life (ALASKA IS AMAZING)and a rental car I could have still have had for a week and they are HARD to come by AND I paid for an extra flight and then I come to this website to see all 5 star reviews? I have PTSD and this place (and trying to escape it )triggered my PTSD. I didn’t fully understand how stranded I was until I found my middle aged, over weight butt trekking down at least 1000 feet of beach and up a mountain….with over 100lbs of luggage when a real life hero rescued me (Air Force rescue pilot for nearly 3 decades).. he and his wife are FAR more representative of the people of Seldovia. They were strangers to me and saved me from a place I believe misrepresented the luxury. And they then took me to town and bought me breakfast while they finished with their current guests and then let me into their Airbnb and taught me a great deal about PTSD….. I’m just saying… between beaches showed me there are heroes out there… but boondoggie instead as you can drive to any view you want and after driving all of Seldovia the views are outstanding everywhere and jacks and avias restaurant is just a short bit away~``` AMAZING BREAD AND all food but that jalapeño cheese bread…. Just yum! When people spend 15k for a trip they expect more then the wheat thins they had in their backpack… I wish I had bought the 15$fish for the eagles as I didn’t realize yet that this was my only food opportunity. This excursion caused me to lose 2 days of a trip and over 500$…….. I can’t stand establishments that lie to tourists going to an already scary destination… and VERY expensive…
