Super nice place to stay. Just opposite the boat harbor with a comfortable second floor balcony withy great views. The whole place is decorated beautifully. All the furnishings are wonderful. There's a large and comfortable common sitting area on the second floor. Even the lamps look like fishing rods and reels. Our bedroom was decorated just as nicely and was also very comfortable and clean. Mary, who is a very thoughtful and informative host, has thought of everything. Night tables with lamps on either side of the bed, ceiling fan, plenty of space, shades for the windows, clean private bathroom. It was perfectly quiet for sleeping. Mary not only let us store our suitcase after checkout while we walked around town, but graciously allowed us to use the sitting area and balcony to relax when we were done walking and we were waiting for the ferry back to Homer. The included breakfast includes several choices in the first floor café which Mary also runs. I wish every place we stayed was as nice as this.…
My husband, Mark, and I spent two years planning our 2018 Alaska Fishing Trip around a commercial salmon fishing experience we had acquired as a result of a live auction in support of the Iowa Children's Museum in Iowa City, Iowa. The salmon fishing day was scheduled for July 5th, 2018 and Captain Dan recommended we come to Seldovia to stay with Mary and Tim at the Sea Parrot Inn and enjoy the 4th of July celebrations. So we did, we booked our stay with the Sea Parrot Inn based on Captain Dan's recommendations and had a wonderful experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The bathroom and lovely shower were a welcome respite after our long trip from Iowa to AK and we enjoyed the home-cooked breakfasts. I know Seldovia is off the beaten track - but, I recommend that you check it out and if you go - stay with Mary and Tim at the Sea Parrot Inn.…
This is a true Alaskan little B & B.Simple with tons of local charm. You can view the docks from the porch. Espresso, ice cream, lunch and simple rooms make this a fun little place to stay. Bring your bicycles, fishing poles, bear spray and Xtra Tuff boots for a wonderful weekend getaway. We took the Seldovia Fast Ferry over and spent 2 days. Such a fun memory for the summer. Lots of local events you can find on FB. Bring a book and plan to relax.
Had a wonderful stay at the Sea Parrot Inn June 2018. Spent one night at the Inn while visiting Seldovia for the first time. The Owner Mary is a friendly, and knowledgeable about the surroundings. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and a great little breakfast is included in the price. Would recommend the Inn to anyone going to stay the night in Seldovia. Thank You Mary for making our stay in Seldovia a memorable one !! ☺ Lewis Family
We spent two (2) nights at the Sea Parrot Inn in Seldovia. The inn, located just across from the small boat harbor & ferry dock, couldn’t be any closer to the ferry and is comfortable & well suited to the small town. Our room (Puffin) was clean, big enough for two to move around in, and decorated nicely. Mary, the owner, is very pleasant and welcoming. She offers the use of a large common kitchen and great room to all guests. Perry’s Cafe, located in the same building, provides the breakfast and coffee that’s included in the rate. They also have great ice cream and soup and sandwiches which are decently priced. Seldovia is the perfect place to see something off the beaten path in Alaska. It is charming and a great place to relax and get away from the tourists.
I spent one (1) night at the Sea Parrot Inn while in Seldovia. The inn is nice and decorated very well. Mary is very pleasant and a joy to talk to. She has a lot of knowledge to share. The food in the restaurant is good and priced well. Seldovia is a very small town and a joy to visit. If you are planning a visit to the Sea Parrot, make sure your water taxi takes you to the docks in town because not all taxi's go there and it is expensive with some of them due to the added distance to the dock. There is a taxi service on the island but it is not cheap. Seldovia is the perfect place to see something different and off the beaten path in Alaska. It is the perfect place to relax.
We spent one night two days at the Sea Parrot. Clean, updated rooms with comfortable beds, along with clean home like common areas. Breakfast is included and so is a house dog! :) Loved our stay, we will definitely be back!
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in May and absolutely loved it! Mary was amazing and open arms to us like family. She has put some extra little touches of art and comfort into her extensive remodel of this gorgeous harbor side property! My wife loved the heated tile in the bathroom each day after cold breezy days of hard fishing in The Cook Inlet. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Seldovia.
We have used the Sea Parrot on multiple occasions over the years. Having our own vacation home in Seldovia we regularly have more visitors than we can accommodate. We always draw upon Mary and the Sea Parrot to house our overflow guests. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and have a very "at home" feel. They are quiet and front onto Main Street - overlooking the small boat harbor and beautiful Seldovia Bay. We have regularly had our parents and in-laws stay and access is easy even for seniors. Plus they have their own cafe and ice cream shop inside the building with making it easy to grab food, coffee or a treat without having to venture out. Being "locals" we regularly grab food or a smoothie at the cafe. In addition the second floor deck provides some of the best views in town! Seldovia is a great little community with much to do in town and the surrounding area. It is just a short ferry ride (or plane ride) from Homer and getting around is super easy. The fishing is excellent with a number of charter operators based there plus one can rent kayaks, hike, beachcomb or just visit the local shops and establishments. I highly recommend the Sea Parrot Inn for a long weekend or week to enjoy all the activities Seldovia has to offer!…
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Seldovia. We arrived in the morning, so left our bags at the Sea Parrot while we walked around Seldovia for a while until our room was ready. Our double room with twin beds was clean, comfortable and quiet; also handicap accessible if needed. The bathroom, too. I didn't realize breakfast was included when I made the reservation, so that was a nice surprise. Quite tasty and satisfying with good coffee and conversation. Sitting in the dining area watching the locals come in for their morning java was part of the fun. There's wifi which worked like a charm, and a community kitchen and television that we didn't have time to use this trip. The Sea Parrot is located right at the top of the ramp where the Seldovia Bay Ferry docks and lets passengers on and off. Very convenient.…
