There still remain a few wild places in the world and this is one of them. Nestled at the base of Kokrines Hills on the North bank of the Yukon River, Yukon River Lodge is located in the heart of Alaska across from the Nowitna National Wildlife Refuge. It is the true Alaska – remote, wild and beautiful. In addition to lodging, fuel for boats, snowmachines, helicopters & ski/float planes is for sale at the lodge - Unleaded, JetA & Avgas. Activities at the lodge in the summer include - fishing day trips (Northern Pike, Grayling & Sheefish primarily), remote hot springs visit, wildlife & bird watching, Alaska Village & Cultural/Historic tours, Yukon River tours & custom guided trips. Winter activities include snowshoeing, ice fishing, remote hot springs visit, experiencing the peace and tranquility of the Yukon River, sitting by the bonfire overlooking the majestic Yukon River and checking out the Iditarod Sled Dog Race when the race comes through Ruby. Off the road system (approx halfway between Fairbanks and Nome), the lodge is accessible by boat, helicopter, float plane, ski plane & snowmachine. It is also a fuel stop for the Iron Dog Snowmachine Race @ Mile 324 from Fairbanks.
