My husband and I stayed here on our way to and from our sheep hunt. Jen and her people are the best… seriously the best! Jen went so far to deal with and coordinate getting our sheep meat butchered and home to Idaho. The rooms are cute and clean, the staff is wonderful and the food is amazing. So pleased to have the opportunity to stay at this fun and charming place!
In McGrath for the Iditarod, so it was cold outside but always warm and welcoming inside. My room was spacious and comfortable and the food was good (last year we had the best cinnamon buns I've ever tasted). Nothing is too much trouble for Jenni and Sarah
This is my 5th stay here, and once again it was simply superb. The host, Jen, greets me like a close friend and will bend over backwards to make sure I have everything, and more, that I might require. I stay in one of the apartments and it is always clean and warm. I like that I have a full kitchen so I can have midnight snacks!! I eat at the hotel and often take a packed lunch if going out for the day. The meals are carefully thought out, very well balanced, tasty and delicious!
My husband and his hunting buddy stayed at Hotel McGrath before and after their moose hunt, again. They were well pleased with their stay the last time two years ago. Jen, the owner, is the busiest person on the planet. She and her staff provide clean and homey rooms with an Alaskan theme. The guys stayed in a two queen bed room. They also had breakfast and dinner on their days there. Jen cooks a meal of the day and one just opts whether to eat or not. When they came back from their hunt early,(they both got a moose) Jen immediately went to the kitchen and made them a meal even though they were not expected. It is almost like being at home. Any time one needs a place to stay in McGrath, this is the place to be.
The Hotel McGrath operates a variety of lodging facilities in this small interior Alaska town located along the Kuskokwim River :). The rooms in the main building and the 5-plex are clean, comfortable, plus nicely maintained... staff are very helpful and friendly too. Good eats are served in the dining room as well. Enjoy!
We stayed with Jenni before and after our Alaskan moose hunt. What a great, comfortable, friendly way to bookend our hunt. Jenni is beyond anything you’d expect with her hospitality. I definitely recommend Hotel McGrath to anyone traveling to/thru McGrath. I will stay here again.
Jen goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is amazing. The choices are limited in McGrath, but when you stay here, Hotel McGrath should be your place to stay. Very good meals, typical Alaskan decor throughout. The owner Jen is very helpful and does everything to make sure your stay is the best possible. Can’t wait to go back.
I had the experience of staying at Hotel McGrath when on a tour for the Iditarod. It is a beautiful little B and B with wonderful service, great hospitality. We even woke up one morning to a moose walking down the street. It gives you the true feel of Alaska. Jen and crew are excellent.
I had the privilege of staying here and can't say enough wonderful things about it. Jen and Zeb, the hotel owners could teach the rest of the world what amazing customer service looks like. When you come to stay here, you are more than a guest, you are family.
My husband and his friend stayed here at McGrath Hotel before and after their moose hunt. They were pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel is . Their room had two queen beds and was spotlessly clean. The Hotel also served breakfast and supper. Zeb cooked breakfast along with 1000 other duties he performed during the course of the day. Jen cooked supper along with her own 1000 chores. The food was excellent at both meals. One just tells them whether a meal is wanted and a special of the day Is served. My husband could not remember what the cost was. Zeb was every where making sure everything was as comfortable as possible. He lent a phone to the guys so they could call home. This year they added a McGrath Meat Company which made their hunt so much simpler. If you are in McGrath you have to stay here.…
