My husband and his hunting buddy stayed at Hotel McGrath before and after their moose hunt, again. They were well pleased with their stay the last time two years ago. Jen, the owner, is the busiest person on the planet. She and her staff provide clean and homey rooms with an Alaskan theme. The guys stayed in a two queen bed room. They also had breakfast and dinner on their days there. Jen cooks a meal of the day and one just opts whether to eat or not. When they came back from their hunt early,(they both got a moose) Jen immediately went to the kitchen and made them a meal even though they were not expected. It is almost like being at home. Any time one needs a place to stay in McGrath, this is the place to be.
The Hotel McGrath operates a variety of lodging facilities in this small interior Alaska town located along the Kuskokwim River :). The rooms in the main building and the 5-plex are clean, comfortable, plus nicely maintained... staff are very helpful and friendly too. Good eats are served in the dining room as well. Enjoy!
We stayed with Jenni before and after our Alaskan moose hunt. What a great, comfortable, friendly way to bookend our hunt. Jenni is beyond anything you’d expect with her hospitality. I definitely recommend Hotel McGrath to anyone traveling to/thru McGrath. I will stay here again.
Jen goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is amazing. The choices are limited in McGrath, but when you stay here, Hotel McGrath should be your place to stay. Very good meals, typical Alaskan decor throughout. The owner Jen is very helpful and does everything to make sure your stay is the best possible. Can’t wait to go back.
I had the experience of staying at Hotel McGrath when on a tour for the Iditarod. It is a beautiful little B and B with wonderful service, great hospitality. We even woke up one morning to a moose walking down the street. It gives you the true feel of Alaska. Jen and crew are excellent.
