Well, they always say that the third time is a charm. I returned to Kodiak Island Resort for the 3rd time in early July. Last time (read previous review – Heaven on Earth) I visited Kodiak Island Resort with my two sons. This time I went with a dear friend of 51 years and his son and grandson, 9 years... More

Full disclosure...I can not rate this lodge for any services that they provide because I did not have the opportunity to actually stay here. I am only able to rate my experience that I encountered with the owner of the lodge. I was a solo traveler and booked this fishing trip in January 2016 for a mid June reservation. I... More

Our entire staff is certainly sorry this individual traveler has these feelings. After numerous phone calls and emails with this person our staff felt like his ambitions, expectations and goals were something we may not have been able to fulfill. I discussed these concerns with the client and professionally answered his requests and repeatedly explained our reservations regarding his expectations.... More

Today we (myself, my wife, and my aunt and uncle) left Kodiak Island after 4 nights and 3 days of fishing at Kodiak Island Resort. Even though everyone was an experienced fisherman but me - we all had a wonderful time! First the fishing - from what we could see at the docks this resort definitely has the best boat... More

This place is over the top. I think anyone can find a place to fish in Alaska but if you want more that catching fish, you need to go here. Allen, April and their staff make you feel like your at Ritz or better. Every meal is made to perfection, fresh linens everyday, outstanding accommodations. They use a custom boat that... More

My dad and I recently stayed at Kodiak Island Resort for a 4-day fishing trip, and we couldn't have been more impressed with the service, the lodge, and the fishing. The owners - Allen and April - and the entire staff were friendly and made us feel at home. Every meal, including the hors-d'oeuvres, was delicious and on par with... More

Everything about this lodge is more than you would ever expect! They have a chef (Mike) to cook your meals; not a cook, a chef! And the food was so good! Allen; the ole salty dog treats you with respect and he runs a tight ship which is very clear. Jim and Zeke work hard to ensure you get the... More

Kodiak Island Resort is a top notch operation...the accommodations are gorgeous, the food amazing, the staff excellent and the fishing fantastic. Alan and his staff made this experience hands down one of the most enjoyable vacations of my life. The scenery coupled with the crews knowledge and spectacular fishing made this an absolutely unforgettable experience. Highly recommend Kodiak Island Resort... More

We stayed at Kodiak Island Resort in July 2013 (tripadvisor won't let me choose this date for some reason). It is very remote so you really feel like you're getting away from it all, but with gourmet meals and amazing accommodations. The fishing was great - salmon weren't running yet, but we caught so much halibut, cod and other fish,... More

Everything was great! Great lodge, great food, great fishing, and the direct charter flight from Anchorage to Larsen Bay was a huge bonus over previous trips... Allen, April, and staff went the extra effort for us... BTW - Allen's sense of humor is great....it matches mine.. :-) and he taught my wife how to jig for Rock Fish I am... More

This was our 3rd trip to this wonderful resort. You don't return to places you don't love! The first 2 visits we caught really big halibut, 109, 122, 128, 351 & many in the 50-70 lb bracket! This year we really wanted to concentrate on salmon. We caught beautiful kings & silvers along with all the halibut we wanted! The... More
