Just finished an excellent 5 days! The level of detailed care Nicole and Jim give each guest is fabulous. The Inn is perfect, beautiful rooms with gorgeous views, close to the town and restaurants yet far enough to easily get to hiking trails. Their knowledge of the fishing captains, float plane pilots & restaurants gave my husband and I great... More

Nichol and Jim were the perfect hosts. I only wish our schedule allowed us an additional day or two. Super comfortable and relaxing environment. Full kitchen and living room and several uniquely appointed bedrooms with their own personalities.

Warm, friendly ambience and Alaska décor. Jim and Nicole know everyone in town and are a wealth of information about hidden island gems and activities. Rooms are comfy and facilities are in perfect order. You really should stay here! It's wonderful.

After finally planning my return trip to Alaska after 37 years I spent some time researching a place to stay and the Black Bear Inn is PERFECT. The hosts are locals who know their island, where to go and what to see when you are there. We visited during off season and the accommodations were warm, inviting, clean and well... More

We stayed at the BEAR in August and had a delightful experience. Nicole and Jim welcomed us into their home / Inn and took care of everything, including doing some shopping for us pre visit. Just found photos. ...

Stayed at the Black Bear Inn September of 2015 for deep sea fishing and sightseeing. This Inn is in a great location, right on the water where you can watch the ships come in and the whales play right from your room or from the patio. The owners, Nichole and Jim, were excellent hosts and went well above and beyond... More

Stayed at the Black Bear for three nights the last week of September. The room was wonderful. We had a small enclosed balcony with a table and a separate entrance. There were few guests when we were there, and as a result parking was no issue. The owner was pleasant and friendly when we saw her, but didn't intrude on... More

Pre- small ship cruise stay in rainy Ketchikan. We are certainly glad we decided to stay here. Innkeepers offered to set-up our rental car and Bear viewing tour - terrific service. Some may prefer a fixed sit-down breakfast, but how nice it was to wander downstairs at the time of our choice and sit watching the ships ply by. Beautiful... More

I stayed at the Black Bear Inn while visiting Ketchikan for a few nights in June. The location is out of town, which is great for peace and quiet. The hosts are amazing, and will do everything they can to make your stay comfortable, including booking outings for you. Nicole is one of the nicest innkeepers I have ever had... More

The Black Bear Inn is a definite 5+/5+ B&B / mini-Hotel in the otherwise rough and tumble SE Alaska locale of Ketchikan. I didn't expect such a special locale here, after having stayed in 5-6 different pretty average Route 66 type Hotels in Ketchikan over the last 20 years. Wow, Sue & I were happily surprised by the boutique atmosphere... More
