This was my first time in Alaska and we were blessed with hospitality and great weather! Jeff and his team were amazing! Our lodge was clean, and had the perfect waterfront view. A crew member would meet us every morning and outfit our boat with everything we needed for a successful fishing day. They provided tips on where to go for weather and to catch the most fish! I cannot stress enough how nice everyone was. My husband and I will be making this an annual trip!

This was our first time at Chinook shores but definitely not our last. We had a company fishing trip here on the recommendation of a friend and absolutely had a blast. All the staff was friendly and very accommodating to a bunch of rookie fishermen. The lodge was perfect for our group with full kitchen and washer dryer. We are already trying to figure out when we want to go again.

Such an accommodative team of hosts and precious location. My first experience ocean kayaking was stunning here in Knudson Cove, provided with the proper guidance and advice to get me out on the water and make it so.

We spent July 26-31st at Chinook Shores on our fifth consecutive trip there. We started with two couples the first year and three couples the second year guided with Jeff and his staff. The last three years, we have been self-guided. This year we had three boats and six couples along with six friends in an adjacent unit. Once again, the trip was absolutely fantastic. Jeff and Nadra go out of their way in spite of an extremely busy schedule to make you feel welcome. We had tremendous fishing and landed our biggest halibut yet including 168#, 165# and 145# fish. The salmon fishing was excellent as well with pink salmon readily caught and several kings. We also caught a number of silvers but their numbers have been down a bit the past two years. I cannot say enough about Chinook Shores. We have already booked for next year and have lots of fish to eat between now and then!

This review is not for the main lodge ... it is for the brand new “apartment”. The apartment is immaculate. It was very well thought out and the craftsmanship and attention to detail are incredible. Granite countertop, top grade cookery, professional grade washer dryer, etc. Truly professional finish work on the flooring, trim, etc. Private hot tub overlooks Knudson Cove where we regularly saw eagles, ravens, sea lions from. There have been whales also right in the cove as well. The staff are genuinely pleasant and nice and will take care of everything from grabbing you ice or bait to filleting your catch. They always greet you at the dock to send you off or help dock your boat and unload. We caught King, Silver and Pink Salmon, various species of Rockfish, Pacific Cod, and Flounder. Did not have any luck with halibut unfortunately. We also caught 6 Dungeness but only one was legal size. We saw Bald Eagles, Sea Lions, Humpback whales and Black Bear. In giving an honest review I have to give the good and the bad ... so here is the bad ... the fact that we only booked one week instead of two!
