Salmon Falls was created to provide the ultimate luxury experience for guests seeking the best of Alaska's world-class sportfishing. We cater to the discerning angler who demands peak performance and total comfort. Salmon Falls is centrally located in Alaska's most productive salt and freshwater sportfishing region. The waters around Salmon Falls are unlike any other in the world.
For over 30 years the Salmon Falls fishing guides have been helping people realize their dreams by catching some of the most magnificent fish on the planet. Silver Salmon fill the pristine blue waters surrounding Salmon Falls every summer as they return to their natural spawning grounds. Coho Salmon, weighing up to 20 pounds are known for their ferocious fight and spectacular acrobatic displays on the water's surface. After Coho season, making a run at Chinook Salmon, Pink Salmon, Chum Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Halibut and Rockfish makes for an exhilarating fishing experience.
We went there for a week, never having been to Ketchikan. Had a great time at the resort and did a lot of walking to the end of the road and in the state park, did a seaplane tour, sea kayaking, chartered fishing for halibut, and self-guided fishing for salmon. All were excellent experiences. We probably would have been more successful with guided salmon fishing given that we had not done that before, but it was wonderful just to putt around in a skiff all day and visit and enjoy the scenery. The only issue we had was finding out the week before we left that the resort was closing early and we would be moved to another property for the last day and night which meant we really couldn't schedule much that day. It all worked out, but not what we expected and they did take care of us. The rooms were fairly spartan but spacious, but it is a fishing resort. The bed was comfortable. We do hope to go back again.…
The resort and the staff as a whole did an outstanding job with our group of 6 on a self guided fishing package and taking care of it all. From the time we were picked up at the airport to getting dropped off, this resort took care of our every needs. Supplying the fishing gear, rain gear, food, snacks and probably not included but the skippers of the guided boats giving us some recommendations on where to fish, daily. Deck crew did an awesome job with the fish and boats, wait staff at our meals and snacks on the boat. They even offered rides up & down the hill for some of our elderly people. Can't Thank You All for all you did and making it a great experience with great memories.
When you stay at SalmonFalls, you will love the food and the friendly employees. My favorite staff member was Captain Bunker, who took my sisters and I salmon and halibut fishing for 2 days. We caught plenty of fish and he made sure we were given time to enjoy the Bubble-feeding whale show up close. Looking forward to a semi-annual trip! Great hiking to waterfalls nearby also.
Thank you, Salmon Falls! We met college friends for a “bucket list” trip and had a great reunion together. Fishing & shrimping were the highlight of our 4-day stay, followed by relaxing on the deck for Falls viewing & sunset photo ops. Guided fishing trips are the best choice for novice and moderately experienced fishermen. Our other excursions included whale-watching (outside vendor); hiking; lunch & shopping in Ketchikan. Timbers restaurant did not disappoint: very friendly and responsive staff; wide-ranging menu; excellent food, while all under the leadership of a terrific Chef (he’s a keeper)! Rooms in Lower Lodge were average and comfortable, but we spent most of our time outdoors or in the restaurant. I am highly likely to recommend this Resort to others and, in all likelihood, we’ll be back for another visit!…
Such a fabulous experience! Loved the charter guide service and the excellent assistance in catching a bunch of beautiful salmon. Captain Bunker made it fun— I don’t even like to fish but I had a great time. Spectacular setting. Super cool main lodge. Views for days. Saw a bunch of humpback whales up close. As good as it gets!
From start to finish Salmon Falls did not disappoint! We caught lots of fish, sampled oysters, took a float plane tour and did some hiking during our stay. The Staff is awesome! Very friendly and welcoming. Love the atmosphere =)
We had a great time fishing. At the end of the day, shower, and great meals at 4 star restaurant. The Dock manager was very knowledgeable of current fishing conditions and staff were very responsive from getting the boat ready early, docking tie up, and cleaning our catch.
Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised with the top quality of the lodge and fishing operation. The staff was helpful and the rooms were very nice and very clean. Thank you to the staff and fishing guides. will be going back!
The fishing guides and dock staff are top notch. The restaurant staff was friendly and attentive. The unpleasant part of our trip was a disorganized check-in process, a not so caring front desk staff, and no shuttle available to take us to town. When we asked about a shuttle to take us to Ketchikan, the front office staff seemed annoyed and said it probably wouldn't happen but they'd call me. No one ever called and our kind fishing guide drove us in his own car. We took a taxi back to the resort for $80. It took us over three hours to get our rooms and this is a remote location - there isn't anywhere to walk to or anything to do after a tiring flight. No one was even in the rooms for the last two hours, they just took their time cleaning them up for us. Our fishing guide, Garrett, was incredible and we would definitely love to fish with him again. Shawn, who runs the dock equipment room, was amazing. Given the amount of money to stay and fish here, it just didn't feel anything like a resort experience. This was my father's third visit to Salmon Falls Resort and he said that the experience had definitely changed, and not for the better.…
Wonderful Staff! Wonderful Property! Wonderful Fishing! This is a class A resort where the fun never stops. From fishing in the morning or all day, to taking your own boat out to see the sites; it a true Alaska experience.
