Comfort on the Creek. The Inn at Creek Street is a collection of tastefully restored historic properties including eight rooms in the New York Hotel, ten in the Bayside Hotel, three units in the Creekside Lofts, Preacher's House, June's Place, the Star Room, the Wharf, and Harborview. Located in the heart of downtown, each unit is located along where Ketchikan's notable Creek Street and Thomas-Stedman Street national historic districts join. Most units have small kitchens and kitchenettes and all have modern amenities. Rooms overlook Ketchikan Creek and Thomas Basin with frequent wildlife sightings by guests (including seals, salmon, and birds). For an authentic Alaskan experience with a touch of history, great customer service, and the most conveniently located property, look no further than the Inn at Creek Street!

We are local but have stayed at the Inn at Creek Street for a special occasion. We stayed in the Star Room, which is a great location - close to everything but still a quiet corner (we could hear the creek while we fell asleep). We took baths in the jacuzzi tub (such a treat!!), drank complementary tea, and slept soundly in the comfortable bed. Then the next morning, we woke up to the sound of eagles and got complementary coffee at the New York Cafe, one of our favorite places in town. Everyone working at the Inn was kind, helpful, and understandably cautious during COVID. We felt safe and taken care of, and enjoyed every minute of our time there.

We stayed in the Star Room, which is a private single room on the second floor of the Star House. If you can't climb stairs you don't want to stay in this room. It was perfect for us - away from the street, looking over the madly rushing creek, and right on Creek Street for shopping and meandering. This was well stocked with coffeemaker, refrigerator, microwave and cups/plates and utensils. Everything was very clean and the bed was a little soft, but comfortable. The front desk staff were very helpful with transport to and from the airport, as well as giving us a ride to a restaurant for dinner. We would definitely stay here again if we're visiting Ketchikan again. This is in easy walking distance to good restaurants - New York Cafe, Pioneer Diner and Annabelle's.

My room at the Inn at Creek Street was a small and dated with an equally small private bath. It was clean and the staff was friendly, but the noise from the street was ridiculous. Seriously, we could have slept in the middle of the street and not had it be any noisier. Our first night we slept with earplugs in and the windows open as the July temperatures kept our non-air conditioned room very warm. Even with ear plugs the noise was unbearable. On top of that, each morning of our four night stay featured a 6 A.M. trash dumpster pick up out of our south facing window. The staff did come in and add a portable A/C unit, but that created its own noise problem. At least the room was cool. The bed is literally 15 feet from traffic on the main drag through town. Being that they were booked they couldn't move us off the street. The shower featured constant temperature fluctuations, but good pressure. Look elsewhere unless you are assured of a room not on Stedman Street.

My husband and I stayed in the New York Hotel, part of the Inn on Creek Street, as part of our honeymoon tour of Alaska. When we reached Ketchikan, we had already visited 6 other towns in Alaska, and Ketchikan was to be the last Alaska stop on our tour. The staff at the hotel, and the town itself were the most welcoming, and probably one of the highlights of our trip. We were collected from the ferry and dropped off at the airport when we left, and the two female staff (I’ve forgotten their names, sorry!) went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They even dropped us off at the Deer Mountain trailhead so that we could start hiking straight away, and lent us bear spray in case we encountered any bears. If you like hiking, I’d thoroughly recommend the Deer Mountain trail- it’s challenging but so beautiful. Overall, if we ever return to Ketchikan, we would most certainly stay at the Inn on Creek Street again. Thank you all for your hospitality!

I stayed in the Star for 10 days and loved it. Got to see the salmon jumping out my window and the seals cracking their fins on the water. They were very active when it rained. My room had a jacuzzi which I used everynight! Was the reason I rented the room. I was told by the owners it was the Honeymoon Suite so I Honeymooned by myself :) The owners, Steve and Perry, were fabulous and Afton was the best so very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. She went above and beyond to make my stay fantastic. Being directly downtown made it very easy to get around. A lot of the other hotels you would have had to take the bus which was most always full or rent a car which I did none of. I walked everywhere. The enabled me to talk to a lot of the locals which was my intent. The cruise ships coming into port is what makes this town what it is. It bases everything on those ships. I flew in. I met some wonderful people in Ketchikan and would definitely give this hotel a triple thumbs up. You guys rock! Was so wonderful to meet you all.
