Detailed Reviews
Our flight arrived very early in the morning and we went to the hotel just to drop our bags off, but our rooms were ready, so they let us check in--we GREATLY appreciated this. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. It was a bit warm, though. It was rather hot (for Alaska) the days we were there and there is no air conditioning in the hotel. The windows in our rooms did open, though, and the hotel provided fans to everyone.
The staff was friendly and helpful with our questions about the ferry, restaurant recommendations, etc.
During our 2 weeks in Alaska, we generally found food to be pretty lackluster, but the restaurant on site was really good! I would eat there again.

Dear makotara: Thank you for taking the time to do a review of our property. We are so pleased to see you enjoyed your stay with us. We are happy to see you were able to be in Ketchikan when we had some warmer weather. But, we normally do not get this warm a weather to last that long either. We are pleased to hear the fans were helpful. Also, nice to hear you enjoyed your meals in the restaurant and would return. We do hope you will make a trip back to Ketchikan and give us another opportunity to serve your lodging needs. Sincerely, Linda Peters, GM

The staff in this hotel are exceptional. Brittany who worked the font desk gave us lots of information and treated us like family. She made sure all of our needs were met. The shuttle service is amazing. Kayla drove us all around town at a moment's notice. She had to drive us to the emergency room for our friend who fell. She was friendly, calming and efficient. Both restaurants were very good. Our room included a $10 breakfast voucher per person each day. The menu and service were excellent. On our last of 3 nights we ate at Jeremiah's after an exhausting day of touring. Our server was very friendly and the food was well prepared. The rooms were basic but large and comfortable and offered quality toiletries and spa robes. It was nice to stay a few minutes away from downtown and the cruise ships especially when the shuttle took us where we wanted to go.

From the moment we walked in the doors, we were greeted so warmly. Mylene graciously checked us in early as our ferry arrived mid-morning. She then managed to upgrade us to a suite and gave us vouchers for breakfast! What a welcome to Ketchikan! Mylene also made sure we had everything we needed during our 4 day stay…she’s a gem and The Landing is very lucky to have such great person representing them.
The free shuttle was much appreciated, as was our driver (Dana?). She was very accommodating and informative and managed to make a rainy day shopping and sightseeing trip fun.
We ate at both restaurants while we were here…The Landing and Jeremiah’s. Delicious!
We’ve been traveling around Alaska for 2 1/2 weeks and this is by far the nicest hotel we’ve stayed at. I highly recommend it!

The hotel is just down the street from the airport and ferry, so it's very convenient.
The hotel is typical with creaky floors and thin walls. I could hear the guy in the next room snoring every night. I'd ask for a room on the top floor if I were you.
The room was pretty clean though there was some hair in the sink and shower. The shower BTW provided lots of hot water and had good pressure.
The restaurants were the best part. The down stair diner served great breakfasts - I had the corned beef hash. The pub upstairs had a good menu and the quality was generally good. One mix up in our dinners when we ordered two rib eye steaks and they only had one. I ordered the pot roast instead to substitute for it and they brought out a new york steak which I'm not a fan of. I ate it rather than wait. Not too tender and lots of gristle.
The staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered sandwiches for our fishing trips each day and the quality was very good and ready each morning at 5 am.
Consider renting a car. Taxi to Clover Pass was about $50 each way. For three days of fishing and picking up our fish after it was processed $350. We also took taxis to downtown for another $15 each way. Adds up,
Uber and Lyft seem nonexistent. We tried to use the apps but kept getting "no cars available."

Dear firegod62: My apologies for not responding to your review sooner. We apologize for the inconveniences you mentioned concerning your room. We are pleased to see that you enjoyed our dining facilities. We are sorry to hear you spent so much on cab fairs. We do have a shuttle that runs from 6am -9:30 pm, but unfortunately it does not go out of the city limits to Clover Pass. I do hope you were informed of our shuttle van for the downtown runs; although it is on a first come basis and can be a longer wait than getting a cab. We do hope you got your limit on the fish and went home with plenty for the freezer. Please come back and see us again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to do the review. Sincerely, Linda Peters,GM

We stayed here for 4 nights. It is 2 minutes drive from the airport. I wasn't sure where to stay in Ketchikan but this place made it easy to be away from the cruise ship hustle & bustle and still get everyplace easily. We would easily pick this hotel again if we returned to Ketchikan.
First are the accommodations. Everything was clean and the front desk had people who worked so hard to make a nice stay!
The shuttle they provide will take you down town and pick you up all on a phone call. The wait was never long and again the drivers were top notch, gave us some good tips along with some fun history of the area. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel which don't be afraid to get a bus pass for the day, that made it super easy to get places as well (and Walmart / Subway inside Walmart if you need any supplies or a quick meal)!
Within walking distance or a shuttle ride away is a little grocery store we went to on the first day to get pop and some snacks, and liquor for our room!
There are also 2 restaurants I will review separate as well, but the room came with a discount for breakfast we found was enough to cover a basic breakfast, but who wants that! We had so much yummy breakfast we loved that place!
I would highly recommend this place.
When we left we were commenting that I don't think we have stayed anyplace where every single person working there seems to be working as hard as they can to make your stay a great one! And ours was a great one!

Where to begin? The service in this hotel is some of the worst I've ever experienced. It's like these people have never heard the term "good service". Actually, that's too generous, they don't know the meaning of "decent service".
When they are out of food, they don't call to let you know. They simply arrive as if they have room service, just to tell you they are out of food and "We're sort of out of everything, so....sorry....;/" They did this two on two separate occasions. After the second, I stopped visiting either on-site restaurant.
One restaurant on-site is called Jeremiah's. It is supposedly open until 10:30 PM. They stop answering they phone for room service at approximately 8:30 PM. No one mentions this. I had to call the front desk to go and get the restaurant to call my room to take my order. When that happened, they woman answering was very rude.
Overall, this is a poor excuse for a hotel and I'm completely blown away that anyone thinks this is more than a 2/5 experience.
My working theory: it's one of the only hotels on the island and they know they can treat you like trash and you have no choice but to take it. It's like this in 90% of Ketchikan service establishments.

We loved this hotel. The rooms were clean, spaceous, and well maintained. Staff was friendly and professional. I would highly recommend staying here. We loved the restaurant too, which the hotel gave a $10 breakfast voucher every morning. The food is reasonable and very good. Both hotel and restaurant staff were excellent.

Hotel is well located. It is comfortable and staff is incredibly nice. The restaurants, both for breakfast and dinner offer good food. Be careful on choosing your room once the third floor may be noisy from Thursdays to Saturdays due to events in the fourth floor. That said, it is a place worth to stay.

I can't praise this hotel enough! We left a cruise for the hospital emergency room with a lot of fear and uncertainty. The Landing only had a one room for one night, but they "juggled some things" and miraculously, I had a room for 5 nights, with assurances that if I needed more time, they would "figure it out!" The room was exceptionally clean, very comfortable and quiet...the perfect respite from the stress. The two restaurants were so convenient, welcoming (the breakfast server was always smiling and cheerful), with good food and reasonable prices. The shuttle scrambled all day to take me wherever I needed to go...the hospital (which is only 2 blocks away), and the airport ferry when my wife was released after 4 days. Although the hotel is not "downtown" there is a great grocery store and a pharmacy within walking distance, and the shuttle could get me anywhere I needed to go. Every member of the staff was very accommodating and helpful. If I could give this place more than 5-stars, I would! I haved stayed in top hotels around the world; The Landing is near the top of my list, not for its polished surfaces (like the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong), but for its spirit and care.

After arriving on an early flight the folk at check in kindly allowed me access to my room early. Made a big difference to my day as I could actually schedule something good.
Pretty much that set the precedent for my stay, the staff always accommodating with the bonus of an excellent shuttle provided for runs to the center of Ketchikan and to trail heads for hiking.
My room was huge for just me. All nice touches provided, toiletries including mouthwash. The bed very comfortable much needed after long hikes, and the room meticulously clean.
At breakfast a $10 voucher is provided to use at the excellent onsite diner. Love the corned beef hash.
Overall nothing was a problem. I could not have asked for more and thank the staff for taking such good care of me. My only hotel choice for my return to Ketchikan.
