Everything we wanted: Easy access to the airport, A base to explore National Forest and the city, A car wasn't necessary. It's walkable from the airport ferry terminal with a carry-on bag but we opted for the free hotel shuttle since it was raining. The shuttle also has schedules for Ketchikan city and Walmart. The Silver Line and the Green Line public buses took us from Ward Harbor to Carianna Lake to Ketchikan city to Saxeman.

While the stay was great the ability to obtain food fell sharply short of expectations. The diner closes at 8p the flyer in the room indicates room service is available until 11 via the bar, the phone number is not correct. If a meal is important to after a long flight and the time it takes to cross the ferry, you will be better served to take a much earlier flight in. Signage for available parking is sorely lacking.

After the airline messed up our flight to Vancouver, we unexpectedly had to wait in Ketchikan two days to catch up with our cruise ship. We stayed at The Landing. -Older hotel which has been well maintained -Comfortable room with all necessary amenities -Very helpful and accommodating staff -Free shuttle that will take/pick you up at the ferry, locations in town, Walmart, etc. -Free $10-off-per-person breakfast coupon at connected diner where food is “down home” and tasty.

Honestly this is one of the tougher hotel reviews to write--I really WANT to like this hotel. On the positive side, the customer service was great from the front desk staff to the shuttle drivers who always seemed ready and waiting to take you where you needed to go around town . The room I stayed at in the adjacent building was huge with two queen beds and a couple of comfy chairs. If I recall correctly, the last time I stayed here years ago we also had a balcony. The only reason I rated this hotel as "average" is due to the extreme noise that we could hear for hours into the night....and I'm not talking about being able to hear conversations in the next room....I'm talking about a full-fledged party with loud music in the room above ours that went on until well after 3am in the morning. At one point we were awakened by a drunk pounding on our door--perhaps he was heading to the "party" room and had the wrong floor. I've stayed a lot of hotels around the world and the noise at this hotel was by far the worst I've ever experienced.

The front desk staff was meh, the hallways were smelly in the morning to mid-afternoon, and just a tad bit better in the late afternoon-evening after airflow blew through. The room had NO AIR CONDITIONING, it was hot and sticky at night. The restaurant/bar service was racist, didn't serve natives or people of color after a certain hour!! Refused to let us in, said they were closed while we could CLEARLY see a waiter serving white customers. AWEFUL.

We stayed here for 4 nights. It is 2 minutes drive from the airport. I wasn't sure where to stay in Ketchikan but this place made it easy to be away from the cruise ship hustle & bustle and still get everyplace easily. We would easily pick this hotel again if we returned to Ketchikan. First are the accommodations. Everything was clean and the front desk had people who worked so hard to make a nice stay! The shuttle they provide will take you down town and pick you up all on a phone call. The wait was never long and again the drivers were top notch, gave us some good tips along with some fun history of the area. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel which don't be afraid to get a bus pass for the day, that made it super easy to get places as well (and Walmart / Subway inside Walmart if you need any supplies or a quick meal)! Within walking distance or a shuttle ride away is a little grocery store we went to on the first day to get pop and some snacks, and liquor for our room! There are also 2 restaurants I will review separate as well, but the room came with a discount for breakfast we found was enough to cover a basic breakfast, but who wants that! We had so much yummy breakfast we loved that place! I would highly recommend this place. When we left we were commenting that I don't think we have stayed anyplace where every single person working there seems to be working as hard as they can to make your stay a great one! And ours was a great one!

Clean well appointed hotel with well equipped kitchen suites there are two restaurants on location friendly and helpful staff airport shuttle and a welcoming attitude at the front desk Although this should not be considered a hotel with a great view it is extremely convenient to not only the airport but is only a block and a half to a well-equipped supermarket perfect for supplying your kitchen suite with goodies

Friendly, efficient, accommodating staff. Starting with Linda Peters, General Manager who printed our boarding passes, Liz on the front desk, who assisted in numerous ways, John, who shuttled us around town for 6 days and assisted us in picking up our processed fish at the Cedar's Lodge. Gabe, Ann, Kristen, and the other servers and the fabulous Chefs and bartenders at "Jeremiah's, a Pub". Also, the housekeeping staff were very helpful. The entire staff was terrific. The Landing Hotel was built in 1977, with some renovations since. It is located at 3434 Tongass Ave, approximately 2 miles from downtown and about 1 mile from the airport (via ferry). Getting around town and airport was very easy due to the hotel's on-request shuttle service. The rooms, hotel and grounds are kept extremely clean. Lots of clean fresh air. We highly recommend this hotel.

My dad, brother and I stayed here for 4 nights whilst charter fishing in Ketchikan at Knudson's Cove. All the staff worked extremely hard to make sure we had a pleasant stay, especially the front desk and shuttle service drivers. We had vouchers for a free breakfast each morning which was a great way to start the day, and typically we would have a drink at Jeremiah's upon returning from fishing. It's in a great location, has clean rooms, and is a short shuttle ride from downtown as well as the ferry to the airport.

The staff in this hotel are exceptional. Brittany who worked the font desk gave us lots of information and treated us like family. She made sure all of our needs were met. The shuttle service is amazing. Kayla drove us all around town at a moment's notice. She had to drive us to the emergency room for our friend who fell. She was friendly, calming and efficient. Both restaurants were very good. Our room included a $10 breakfast voucher per person each day. The menu and service were excellent. On our last of 3 nights we ate at Jeremiah's after an exhausting day of touring. Our server was very friendly and the food was well prepared. The rooms were basic but large and comfortable and offered quality toiletries and spa robes. It was nice to stay a few minutes away from downtown and the cruise ships especially when the shuttle took us where we wanted to go.
