Detailed Reviews
I would have given Juneau Hotel a full 5 circles BUT! Right under the bedroom is the boiler for the hotel, and it was loud enough that I had to go and buy earplugs! We stayed five nights and the first two nights I hardly slept. The earplugs helped but I didn't like sleeping with these things in my ears that didn't stay in my ears very well, it was such a struggle. After the second sleepless night I went to the service desk and asked what was that loud annoying noise in our room, that is when I found out it was the boiler! I asked if we could have a different room and they could not give us a different room because they were booked up for the next six weeks. I asked if we could get a 20% discount off of our total bill and they said they couldn't do that. I than asked to speak with the manager (I later found out the manager was one of the hotel owners from the driver who took us to the airport on the day we left.) I was told that the manager would not be in the office until Monday, we left on Tuesday, it was Saturday when I finally expressed my dissatisfaction with our room. Finally the assistant manager agreed offered a discount of $60 off of the entire bill.
My husband and I really liked our room accommodations, a kitchen with everything you need to cook a full meal, a comfortable sofa (sofa bed) to relax and watch tv or read or just take a nap. Bedroom was a nice size with dressers and a closet with plenty of hangers to hang your clothes should you want to hang them, comfortable bed, and really good pillows (I'm really picky about my pillows).
Do not stay in ROOM 1414 you will not get a good night's rest unless you are deaf, drunk as a skunk, or exhausted!

We stayed here twice in December, 2024.
The first stay, I was impressed by our suite’s cleanliness and the professional attitude of the staff. The price was excellent.
The second stay, it seemed the suite (a different one) had not been well-cleaned: there was lint in the dryer and a lot of debris on the washer lid, not enough toiletries (especially soap) for four guests, an empty box of tissues, and the couch was very dirty. Again, the staff was wonderful.
I would stay here again but would ask for a room change if it appeared as dirty as was the second suite.

My wife and I stayed two nights before embarking on a two-day cruise from Juneau and could not have been happier with the hotel. The room (a two-room suite with kitchentte) was large, comfortable and clean. The desk staff were very friendly and very helpful with information about the sites, taxis and restaurants.
The location is not as central as other downtown hotels, but it is only a five minute walk to the grocery store and the best breakfast restaurant in town, and only 10 minutes to the shopping/tourist center. Also, it is very close to the channel, near a nice park, with great views and bald eagles circling overhead.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing our hotel for your pre-cruise stay and for sharing such a positive review! It's wonderful to know that our two-room suite with a kitchenette met your needs for comfort and cleanliness, and that our desk staff were friendly and helpful with local information. We're also glad that our location, although slightly away from the downtown core, provided convenient access to nearby amenities and scenic views. Hearing that you enjoyed the proximity to the grocery store, a great breakfast spot, and the shopping/tourist center is fantastic, as well as the nearby park and wildlife sightings. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back in the future, perhaps for another cruise adventure! Warm regards,

My wife and I stayed three nights at Juneau Hotel. The hotel is approximately one mile from the ‘main’ downtown of Juneau, and approximately half mile from the local grocery store. The hotel’s complimentary shuttle from the airport is temporarily suspended due to Covid; we paid $21 for a taxi to take us from the airport to the hotel (a little over six miles). Uber appears to be available when flights arrive into Juneau, but were otherwise ‘not available’ when I tried utilizing Uber during the stay. The room had a full kitchen, with modest supply of pots, pans, glasses, plates, and silverware. The hotel is located at the corner of Egan Drive and West 10th Street/Juneau Douglas Bridge roadway, therefore has persistent traffic that is a bit noisy (but not to a level that was bothersome to us). The hotel offers free WiFi – our best download speed was 18.2 Mbps, with best upload speed of 2.3 Mbps (so plan accordingly for a MiFi if you require faster speeds) (both speeds taken at approximately 830pm each night of our stay…slowest download speed was 0.5 Mbps). The queen bed was very soft and sagged significantly to the middle. The room had a nice under/over washer/dryer – we did two loads of laundry with no issues. Similar to the Seward hotel we stayed at recently, this hotel is currently not offering housekeeping services due to Covid precautions – a bit odd since hotels in both Talkeetna and Girdwood provided daily housekeeping. While municipalities take lead on such requirements as mask use, we see the absence of housekeeping as more an economic/budget function than Covid precaution. Our room had no paper towels, kitchen wash cloth, or other material(s) one would need to clean up the kitchen counter and/or range top after cooking a meal. The local grocery store only sold 10 or 20-pack paper towels at exorbitant prices, so we purchased a wash cloth and kitchen towel. The room did have two detergent pods for the dishwasher. I have attached the instructions we found in the room. Of six locations, this was the only one that asked us to remove our own garbage at checkout. Overall an adequate hotel, but we would not stay here again.

I liked my room location on the ground floor, closest to the water side, with a view of Douglas Island and the park. Having a dog room, it was really nice to walk out the door to the nice park/riverwalk with the gorgeous new humpback whale statue. It was surprisingly quiet (not totally quiet) but much better than I expected. Only noise to speak of was that my bedroom abutted the building boiler room, which for some might be "white noise" but I'm used to complete silence. The boiler room made my room a little smaller than other rooms in the building. The bed had a brand new mattress, which I REALLY appreciated because of back issues.
Staff super friendly and helpful. Housekeeping 1x/week for extended stay, also very nice and helpful.
Only comment I'd make is if you are going to the there for awhile, the room doesn't have much in the way of pots/pans/dishes, so if there is something that you want (ie large frying pan with lid, quality knives) you need to bring it yourself. I ended up going to a thrift store to get additional things I needed.
Affordable extended-stay, probably would have cost that much for any rental between rent & utilities, and no hassle of leases & connecting utilities. I reduced my stay by three weeks because my project wrapped up, and they made it easy to do so.

We had a suite queen on the lower floor backside. It is a older hotel but the room was huge with kitchen. We bought groceries at a local store and cooked most of our meals . You will save lots of money like this. The traffic didn’t bother us at all, after a long day of activities sleep was easy. If your high end luxury maybe this isn’t for you for us skipping the turn down service and room service was well worth it. On my next visit to Juneau this hotel is my choice, I just love this huge room. Checkin is a stated. If you need laundry done just ask at the front desk and they will arrange it.

As a solo, senior, female traveler I felt the Juneau Hotel was a perfect fit for me. I felt secure and safe in terms of both location and cleanliness of the facility. I was also pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness of my suite with separate bedroom, washer/dryer, full kitchen, living room and bath.
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The airport shuttle was efficient. With the pandemic surging just now, I felt the Juneau Hotel met all safety standards. This was my first trip outside of my "bubble" and it was very comfortable for me.
The rate was great, the location along the seawalk by the whale statue lovely and quiet (downtown nightlife is not my thing), and the walk (with visiting ravens and eagles) with luggage to my cruise dock was simple. To summarize, Juneau Hotel exceeded my expectations! Great hotel choice!

The hotel is away from town and since I have some mobility issues, we rented a car to get to restaurants/sights. The mattress in room 1413 needs to be replaced as it is sagging in the center. We utilized the laundry facilities and enjoyed the park nearby. They do provide airport shuttle from 5am-11pm which we used coming and going. I did hear the street noise, people and cars.

This was the perfect lodging choice for our stay in Juneau with providing plenty of space in this suite(more like an apartment). We didn't do any cooking but having a full size refrigerator for our drinks and breakfast items was really appreciated. We did utilize the washer and dryer in the room which was convenient. Truly appreciated the shuttle service that got us to and from the airport and ferry terminal. They stored our luggage while we went to Haines/Skagway for 4 days and returned for our final day of stay which saved us lugging them along or paying for storage at the airport. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is located by the busy road but we were exhausted from our adventures that the noisy traffic didn't bother us at all.

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a hotel. I was traveling with my wife and daughter, so we booked a suite with 2 bedrooms. We moved our luggage to the hotel about 11:30 and told them we would be back at check-in to move into our room. I had been fishing and wanted to change my clothes and shower about 2;30. The room was not ready. I went for a walk, and we all got back around 3:00. Because we wanted to get ready for some shopping and dinner we waited in the lobby. Despite knowing we were waiting, the room was the last one done and not ready until 4:45. When we finally got in, the room had been given at best a cursory cleaning. The floors still had debris, the counters were barely wiped and still had leftovers, and there were dishes in the dishwasher. We went ahead and lived with it, took showers and went out for the evening. There was no one at the front desk to talk to about it. The next morning, we got up early and left, putting the Maid Service sign up. We returned after dinner that evening and the room had not been touched. When this was stated to the front desk, we were told they had given us towels but the cleaning staff was gone so they couldn't do anything about the room. When we checked out the next day the person at the front desk avoided asking about our stay and rushed us out. I would avoid this hotel at all costs.
