This is a lovely B&B we arrived late at night and Linda welcomed us warmly helped and us with our luggage and let us know breakfast was family style at 8 AM. We came up the next morning to wonderful smells and fresh coffee and raspberries freshly picked from her garden. We made the short walk into town and explored then it was time to catch our cruise ship and our hostess offered to load our luggage and drive us to the port. What service!! I am sorry to see that they are trying to sell the B&B it will be a loss to future guests but everyone deserves to retire sometime. So best of luck Linda and Mark.

I got lucky to snag the last available room reservation for my stay. Linda was very responsive to my questions before I arrived and was kind to greet us upon arrival at the Inn after our very late incoming flight. I did run this by her before we booked (and closer to arrival) to make sure it would be workable and so we wouldn’t be too disruptive. The Inn is a short drive from the airport—we used a ride share.

The room was on the lower level and worked well for me and my friend with two beds and a nice bathroom. While it was small, we weren’t in the room much and it met our needs and didn’t feel on top of one another. It felt like staying in a (nice clean) home and was comfortable. The bed and bedding in particular were very comfortable. It was also nice and quiet, and we didn’t really hear any other guests during our multi-night stay.

Breakfast was lovely, both with the different variety of offerings (with special touches) each day, as well as mostly pleasantly conversing with the large share of other guests. Because I needed to leave super early on two days, Linda was kind enough to pack me a to go bag, which included everything that I like and kept me well fed throughout the whole days. Other special touches include very pleasant and intelligent hosts, snacks, the two doggies and fish, and the non-commercial, residential feel of the property.

The inn’s location was ideal away from the commercial area, but close enough so walking was easy (but it is up a steep hill, which I appreciated to help walk off some vacation dining). The more downtown area was no more than 10 minutes away. I liked not staying in the middle of the more tourist area. During my last night, after a full day and with having a super early outbound flight the next day, I ordered delivery from a local restaurant recommended by Linda and it was good and arrived in about a half hour.

As my title says, I’m confident that my vacation would not be the same if I had stayed elsewhere. It just felt more at ease, with a lot of charm, and staying with new friends with great hospitality.

I highly recommend that others choose the Inn over a local hotel for all of these reasons. Actually, i may be disinclined to ever stay in a hotel again after the wonderful experience.

We stayed in the attic room. This was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday. The room was huge, views out three windows on the top floor out over Juneau were amazing. The room was quiet and all the comforts we could have asked for. The BEST part was the large jetted tub in the middle of the room. This ticked off all the boxes for the perfect room. Linda and Mark were perfect hosts, we received a complete rundown of all the things not to miss when we arrived, which we took advantage of and they were spot on. The breakfast each morning was phenomenal, Linda and Mark worked magic, but seriously served breakfasts for big hearty eaters. We had fresh baked cookies and wine on the table to help ourselves to every afternoon. I highly recommend this beautiful B&B to anyone coming to Juneau. It’s centrally located, easy walk to the best restaurants and fun stuff to. Of our three weeks in Alaska this was the highlight. Linda also surprised me on the last day we were there for my birthday and brought out amazing cupcakes with candles on for all the guests to sing happy birthday. This is a special place.

While on a two week, late May, 2022 vacation to Alaska's Inside Passage, my wife and I stayed 3 nights at the Capital Inn B & B. Of all the decisions I made planning this trip, staying at Linda and Mark's Capital Inn may have been my best. The communication with Linda prior to arrival was excellent. We were arriving from Ketchikan on an Alaska Marine Highway ferry at 4:30 AM. With Linda's help, we arranged for a driver to meet us at the ferry and drive us to the Capital Inn. Linda welcomed us and allowed us to store our luggage in our room, hours before checkin, so we could go on a 7 hour tour of Tracy Arm Fjord. We stayed in Klonda's room. It was a secluded room on the back of the house. The big bed was comfortable and the shades kept the light out. The bathroom was quite large. It even contained a fridge. My favorite part of staying at the Capital Inn was breakfast. The gourmet breakfasts had a variety of foods and were plentiful. Every breakfast started with fruit and muffins. One morning we were served two types of pancakes and sausage. Another morning scrambled eggs with crab meat, hash browns and sausage. For an hour or more, every day started off with great food and wonderful conversation with other guests around the big dining room table. The location of Capital Inn was ideal for the excursions we took on three different days. Just a 10 minute walk to the Tramway meeting spot. The walk back to the inn was a bit more challenging. It was uphill on Main Street for 5 blocks, the last block having the steepest incline. You may prefer walking up Franklin Street and taking 5th Street over to the inn. I just can't adequately express how enjoyable it was to spend our time at the Capital Inn Bed & Breakfast. Do yourself a favor, spend a little more and stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast with Linda, Mark and their dogs Dutch and Dolly while in Juneau.

If you’re staying in Juneau you’ll be fortunate to be able to book at Alaska’s Capital Inn Bed & Breakfast. Before our arrival all our questions were answered and we were provided so much information - we were able to book at Salt, have some fantastic casual meals and provided tickets for Mt. Roberts Tramway. Once we arrived, the location was ideal, the atmosphere was inviting, accommodations were super comfortable, breakfasts were divine, and plenty of snacks were available throughout the day. Our party had 3 different flights leaving and we had transportation to the airports taken care of. We showed up with our bags packed and off we went. Linda and Mark were exceptionally gracious hosts! Thank you!

We spent two nights at the Capital Inn before embarking on a national geographics cruise.
Our stay was extremely pleasant, Linda and Mark are excellent hosts and Mark served up a great breakfast!
I would recommend at least a day in Juneau before cruising if you can do it, it’s a fun town with lots to do, good food, and nice hikes.
The Inn is a few blocks uphill from the main downtown area so maybe not the greatest choice for limited mobility, otherwise excellent.
I would highly recommend the Alaska Capital Inn for your stay in Juneau.

This was our first trip to Alaska, and we count ourselves as incredibly lucky to have been able to stay in this quiet and comfortable bed and breakfast! Alaska’s Capital Inn was the perfect base for our South East Alaska adventures. Our hosts, Linda and Mark, warmly welcomed us into their beautifully restored bed and breakfast, and throughout our comings and goings made us feel comfortable and cared for. The breakfasts Linda prepared were generous and dangerously delicious! When we tired, we could sit for hours reading in the large chairs in the living room, or wander around looking at all the curios and collected items of Alaska lore throughout the house. We were two couples traveling together, one couple had a great room upstairs with plenty of windows, while the other had an equally beautiful and comfortable downstairs room that opened onto the back garden. We can’t wait to get back and stay here again!

Beautiful place to stay. Linda made us feel welcome from the start with "The 5 minute Tour" Dutch and Dolly (Scottish Terriers) are also friendly and posed for pictures. The room (John's Room) was beautiful and bed very comfortable. Hair dryer, extra pillows, linen and robes in the closet. Mini fridge in the hallway, great for take out left overs.
Breakfast both days was awesome. Table was set beautifully each morning. Linda also had snacks on the sideboard, coffee, tea and cider on the table and wine in the evening. She even had free passes for the tram. The home is within walking distance of the waterfront and downtown. Highly recommend.

Such a wonderful place to stay! Mark & Linda were so accommodating when we arrived in the morning before our nights stay. We were able to leave our luggage and visit with some of the other clients then walk to town. When we got back our room was ready and they had wine and light snacks for us to enjoy. To be able to sit in a comfortable living room atmosphere enjoy our wine and visit instead of being in a hotel room was wonderful! We were also able to visit with other house guests that had arrived. The room was very comfortable…….the bed was amazing. The next morning a family style breakfast was served with all the people we had meet the day before. We would highly recommend this B&B ❤️❤️❤️

Linda and Mark have set a new standard for B&Bs. The breakfasts are amazing with fresh fruit parfaits, fresh homemade muffins and cookies daily and then there's the main course. They will make your tour and transportation arrangements while you enjoy a glass of wine on the front porch and have great suggestions on what to see and do for day trips from Juneau and what to do around town.

Go to Juneau, stay at the Alaska Capital Inn B&B and take the Tracy Arm Fjord and Glacier tour on the Captain Cook. Trip of a lifetime!

Hey Judy, Thanks for the questions We are used to flights arriving and departing at all hours of the day and night. We are always happy to pre arrange taxi's for you. Save the money on a rental car, and instead use that money on a tour, or special dinner. Parking is a pain in the downtown area.

Yes, we have one room with two twin beds, we call the room, "The Focsle". We are located in the historic downtown area, well within walking distance to not only grocery stores, but shopping, museums, waterfront, restaurants, and the Mt. Roberts tramway. We offer our guests free passes to ride the tramway, thus saving you $35 per person! We also have a suite that will sleep three or four people, we call that room, "Lela's Suite" . You can see photos of each of our rooms and the Inn, on our website. Feel free to call us to book your room. Cheers! Linda
