Recently, my sister and I visited Juneau and had a simply wonderful time.  The weather was perfect, and we mostly had the town to ourselves, as it was at the end of tourist season.  Our lodgings were at Capital Inn, an excellent B&B, hidden away right in the heart of downtown Juneau.  It's owned and run by a very nice, interesting, couple, who serve fantastic meals, too!

This is where I stay whenever I’m in Juneau. It is the perfect bed and breakfast. The house is beautiful and surrounded by flowers, and even though it is a short walk from downtown you feel private. The bedrooms are roomy with very comfortable beds and clean, well designed bathrooms. The very best part is the breakfast. Linda is a brilliant cook, and makes abundant food. For example, for one breakfast we had fruit, rhubarb walnut muffins, vegetarian quiche, sautéed new potatoes. There are also fresh cookies available all day and evening. Mark and Linda know everything about where to go and what to do. Everything here is a delight.

Lovely, considerate hosts, outstanding breakfast that’ll keep you going, great location/parking. The logistics of getting in and out of the place were painless, hallway/stairs were quiet, bed/pillows were comfee...shower tub means a cramped shower experience and hot water pressure was fine but a hot shower was possible only with cold water off (ie you got what you got).

What if some close friends had a comfortable well appointed, spacious home in Juneau and also happened to serve up a delicious breakfast each morning. In addition to making you feel at home, imagine these friends also can make great recommendations on things to do because they know every single restaurant, tour company, hiking trail etc. in Juneau. We rented two rooms for a five day stay with our teenagers and this is exactly what it was like. Alaska's Capital Inn is a truly distinctive place to stay in a truly distinctive small city.
