We stayed at the Prospector in one of their water view suites. This is a solidly reliable older property. No fancy frills, yet the suite was roomy and they did their best to not use stinky chemically fragrant cleaners for us. The two best features were the extra space and the water view.

From check-in to check-out, our service could not have been better, especially the front desk personnel. Our room was large and well-appointed, with comfortable queen-size beds. The hotel is located on the waterfront within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. The State Museum next door is a must visit

I was perplexed how hard it was to find an available hotel in Juneau but after visiting I understand. There really aren't many in the "downtown" area. I was lucky to get into the Prospector which was confirmed by a few locals I met. Its right on the outskirts of downtown, an easy walk to anywhere. The room was fine,... More

The room was HUGE with two walk-in closets. Beds were comfortable enough, but not as new and firm as I would have liked. Free in-room WIFI included, which was nice. There was also a mini-fridge, a microwave, flat-screen TV. The room had a view of the channel. Including taxes, it was about $180/night.... for that I really think there should... More

Don't let the appearance fool you, yes it's old but the staff were all friendly and always willing to give advice on the best things to do in town. We had a room on the north side of the hotel so we had a great view of the channel, Douglas Island, and the mountains that surround Juneau. The only thing... More

Very clean hotel. The staff was nice and friendly. The room was large and the bed comfortable. There was a frigerator, and microwave. The Internet was fast and reliable. I walked to the grocery store around the corner for breakfast food. It is only a few blocks from the downtown, and waterfront.

Our family gathering of 35 stayed here over the 4th of July. I would do so again in a heartbeat. Very accommodating staff. They catered dinner for us one night that was ample amounts of well prepared food. The restaurant food was good as well. All in all, a great room, good staff

We arrived at the hotel early morning after arriving on our Un-Cruise trip. We hoped we could leave our luggage but we were allowed to take our room as one was available. Our room was a suite and massive. Unusual warm weather also meant it was very warm but the staff opened up the room before we got in. The... More

It was our joy to spend two nights at the Prospector Hotel in early May -- and we would be very happy to stay there again. The hotel may look a bit dated, but everything was clean, the room was very spacious and comfortable, and the staff was very kind. Though we were staying with airline miles we were treated... More
