Found this place on TA, where I go for all my travel planning.
Nice porch with hanging baskets and rocking chair.Pretty spacious, good for a family. We used only downstairs bedroom.I was considering the upstairs one ( my husband snores), but gave up that idea ,as the stairs are sooo steep. No chance to negotiate them safely if you use bathroom during the night( slight disappointment).
I'm glad my husband read the note by the door-to remove outside shoes.WE always do.But not everyone would,so maybe mention in description of the reservation?
Kitchen, though stocked, was a bit cramped if you have more than two people.
The thing I didn't like at all was -you are supposed to wash your dishes before you leave. For me it meant I need to wash them before I use them( which I do in cabins without dishwasher).Never ever was I required to wash dishes( we travel a lot).Cleaning fee is$75,we didn't use upstairs and washed our dishes.A bit expensive.
Overall I am glad we stayed there, these are just couple small things...
Muffins were tasty,coffee a bit weak,but I liked it.
Thank you

This was a beautiful place to stay in Hope. We enjoyed the view of the woods, the fire pit and chairs, the long front porch, the comfortable bed, the ice on the fridge, the nice bathroom, the kindness of our host. Thank you for such a wonderful escape and for the best biscuits and gravy we have ever had. Their coffee is wonderful too!! And the muffins. And everything!!

Outstanding! Thank you so much for visiting us and taking the time to write such a detailed and kind review. As a small family business in a seasonal town, we have a short window to get it right and most days it doesn’t feel like it. This helps. Much appreciated.

We truly enjoyed meeting Jess and staying at her cabin. She is so easy to work with and went out of her way to make our trip a memorable one. We stayed in the back unit for 3 nights and it was quiet, comfortable and clean. Jess's coffee shop and bakery is outstanding. We feel lucky to have been so pampered in the middle of the wilderness.

We decided to take a sidetrip off the beaten path during our 12 day trip to Alaska to Hope at the recommendation of a friend. Luckily we found these wonderful two bedroom cabins. Our stay at Hope's Hideaway came at just the right time for a slower pace and good family time. Clean, quiet and comfortable. This is Geo. Stecko's property but Dorinda lives right on the property. She makes for a welcome arrival and provided hot muffins for the morning. We filled out the breakfast ourselves in the full kitchen. There was an inside hot tub but we did not want to be inside away from this lovely area. Fantastic peaceful hike in Hope with very different fauna from our many other hikes in AK. We ate at two great restaurants - try Bowman's Bear Creek for gourmet, yes, real gourmet here. Adorable history museum. We wished we would have planned for two nights there instead of one. If you want to use your kitchen facilities you will find the barest minimum of groceries in Hope but you can bring your own groceries from one of the towns that are more on the beaten path. Anchorage is really not that far. The drive to Hope is beautiful. The cabins and Hope are close to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Ctr and Portage Glacier and fishing for other day activities besides the great hiking. We were the only guests at the time and just loved it!

Hope's Hideaway is beautiful. So spacious and lots of extras--like a hot tub, for instance. My half of the building has a queen bed and two small bedrooms with twin beds. There's a kitchen and nice porch. It's about a half mile outside of town and tucked away in the woods. Hope is a great little town with fishing and hiking right here. Highly recommend! I'm a solo traveler so didn't need all this space, but I appreciate this comfort. Three downsides: the bathroom wasn't all that clean, I could hear every word and movement of the people in the next unit, and they leave their dog tied up with no bed or shelter. I didn't check the hot tub to see whether it was clean. The other people staying there weren't being loud, the walls are just obviously not well insulated. That poor dog sat in the dirt for hours and hours on a short chain right outside my door. As a dog lover, this bothered me greatly. Maybe they don't leave the dog chained up everyday?

What a hidden jewel of a place Hope's Hideaway is. The Cabin is situated in the woods. The cabin can be divided into two separate cabins or used as one large cabin. My family used only one side of the Cabin which had a bedroom downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs in a loft area. There was also a hot tub in the cabin. The property managers Dorinda and Steve were just amazing. They took care of our every need and were great resources of what to do in the area. They gave us homemade bread upon our arrival which they bake. The town offers 2 small restaurants which are very good. The scenery is just beautiful. The cabin is situated in the mountains with creeks and trails nearby. It is not unusual to see a moose walk by. The cabin offers full kitchen, bathroom and fireplace. The cabin was very clean and with all amenities. Just an amazing place to stay. This was our third visit to Alaska and our first trip to Hope. Hope's hideaway is a must if staying in Hope. Hope is a small village with a big heart and lots of things to do. Thanks again for the great hospitality Dorinda and Steve. We will definitely be back to this amazing place.

We didn't stay in the cabins but by chance stopped in for coffee. Best coffee I've had in awhile, a non-coffee drinking friend even said she liked it. Please let me know where I can order the coffee you sale.

Hope is a magical place and the Hideaway was a great spot to experience the magic.

Our host was very friendly. The coffee and blueberry muffins at their nearby Cafe were 5 star yummy. And, somehow they arranged for a moose with her two calfs to wander past our front door.

We love that you could see a mama moose and her twins walk by from your porch. We don’t always see them so close, but Hope, Alaska is definitely wild. Thank you for visiting us and taking the time for this kind review. We also love baking homestyle jumbo blueberry muffins so we’re glad you enjoyed them. Thank you!

we spent here two nights (before and after a kayak trip in PW Sound). The cabin we stayed in (3 people) was beautiful, clean and well equipped. Levi was extremely friendly and really did his best to optimized our time in the area. Recommended!
