Land's End Resort garners praise for its pristine location, offering guests stunning views and a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle. The resort's atmosphere is often described as inviting, with travelers commending the cozy and clean accommodations. However, opinions on service range from accolades for staff friendliness to criticisms of inattentiveness.
While the amenities, including hot tubs and pools, are a highlight for many, some guests have raised concerns over their upkeep. Additionally, the resort's value for money has been called into question, with some visitors feeling underwhelmed given the high costs.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
We recently stayed in the loft room with a king-size bed at Lands End Resort in Homer, and it was fantastic! The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the view from our room was nothing short of breathtaking. We loved the cute patio where we could relax and take in the scenery.
We dined at the resort's restaurant, and while it was a bit pricey, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. Definitely worth it! One of the highlights of our stay was enjoying the resort’s hot tub, sauna, and indoor pool—such a great way to unwind, and we highly recommend these amenities.
Unfortunately, many places around the resort were closed due to the shoulder season, but this only gives us more reason to return! We can’t wait to come back and experience everything Homer has to offer when it's in full swing. Highly recommend this resort for a relaxing getaway!

Our visit to Lands End Resort was exceptional
the most thought out hotel room I've ever stayed in...Brand new and spotless
Attention to detail at every turn
let me say that we understand that Alaska is supposed to be rustic.
My wife is NOT a fan of rustic..
We stayed in the brand new wing in a oversized room I would call outstanding.
Incredibly comfortable bed, well lit room with recessed lighting, high end fixtures such as granite counter tops, a huge soaking tub with a view of the bay and a separate stand up shower
Comfortable upholstered chairs in front of a huge bay window bay window where you can watch whales and sea otters swim by, eagles flying so close you can almost touch them
The hotel staff was always ready to do anything necessary to make our stay more pleasurable.
due to the current pandemic we ate most of our meals from the restaurant in the hotel and ate them sitting in our hotel room in front of the bay window ...every meal we had was delicious. Don't miss the strip strip steak!
I even got to meet a local national television celebrity that stopped by the restaurant just at moment I was picking up my to-go order
Which was quite exciting
This is a 4 star room with a 10 star view
if your visiting Homer this IS the place to stay its as close to "The Homer Hilton" as your going to get

We stayed at Lands End for Memorial Day weekend and were impressed by the fantastic service. Front desk, housekeeping staff and especially the Chart Room team displayed the best in guest service. We’ve been staying at Lands End for decades, but this post CoVid isolation was a welcome respite. Surprisingly good weather and super good food added to the enjoyment, the view from room #327 doesn’t hurt either.
New employee Sophia in the dining room tried Her best to ensure our dinner was enjoyed, Christopher, the breakfast service is an outstanding employee. Chef Miller’s menu is creative and well executed. Food portions are enormous. We noticed the extraordinary lengths the Chart staff took to ensure the sanitation safety of the guests, which is very much appreciated.
Even the Chief Engineer was super friendly, fixed our tv remote control. A front desk worker, (Michael?) practically ran a Do Not Disturb sign up to our room. After hunting down, not leaving the house for a couple months, my stay at Lands End went a long way to recharge my “batteries”. Can’t wait to return.

Thank you for this amazing show of local business support as well as beyond awesome review! Our staff has been working hard to make each and every guest feel welcomed and safe during their stay during these Post-COVID times. We have missed our fellow Alaskans this spring and were very happy to see everyone back this weekend for the holiday. We will be sure to share you positive notes to each staff member mentioned, and we cannot wait to see you and your family again very soon!

Not all staff wear masks - we had to scrub down our room ourselves to feel safe, housekeepers not wearing masks and one was coughing. Waitstaff inconsistent with masking, man at front desk not wearing mask or host in restaurant. Rooms smaller than appear online, bed uncomfortable, location was excellent and last night we got to eat on patio with a server considerate enough to wear a mask - food excellent.

Thank you for your feedback. We will be making sure our standards on wearing masks in the restaurant and at the Front Desk are being upheld. We can guarantee that our Housekeepers are taking all the necessary precautions when cleaning rooms, as well as using high grade cleaners to help disinfect and sanitize surfaces. We are glad you enjoyed your meal on our beach side deck and found the food to meet your standards.

I seen many great reviews so I thought this was a good place however our experience was far from that.
They had no employees, if you wanted amenities like towels, coffee, tissues you had to go to their front counter with a list and get it yourself.
They told us checkin was 5pm and checkout was 11am but our confirmation printed 4pm guaranteed (which they would not honor) and 12pm which the key locks you out right at 11am and they want another days rent holding your belongings as hostage. They finally gave us our stuff but you have to fight for it.
Next is the restaurant. We made a well in advance reservation then confirmed the day before. They said we had no reservations but would make it for us now. We thought everything was set until we showed up and low behold we had no reservations again. They argued this with us almost not giving us our seat. Then just after this a walkin came in and she was all happy to seat them saying no problem we have plenty of tables. Don’t even ask just how low budget those meals were. Trust me, go to McDonald’s.
Outrageous prices, poor to no service and terrible food, extortionists and liers.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review and feedback. We are sincerely sorry to hear you had such an inconvenient stay with us and hope you were able to speak with Management while you were here. We have unfortunately, fallen victim to many issues this year such as COVID and Staffing Shortages. We hope you are able to give us another chance someday to see that these issues are not the norm and our standards are much higher for customer service as you experienced. All departments involved will be reached out to, to ensure our standards are met.

We stayed four nights in a King stateroom with a balcony. The mountain and bay views are just gorgeous and it is fun to watch the boats leave the harbor each morning and return each evening. The room is very comfortable and is one of the few we’ve stayed in with two very comfortable swivel chairs for relaxing. Good internet and AT&T cell signal. Wonderful soaking tub and walk in shower, good lighting.
I mark the hotel down for what I think is, at this point, an unnecessary reduction and restriction in services and amenities without a commensurate price adjustment, especially in the case of multi-night stays. Yes, we can go get more towels ourselves and find a place to dump our own trash from four days. We did. Yes, we could go ask for more tiny soaps and some coffee and cups — we did. But why should we have to when the staff knew we would be there for four nights? They service the turnover rooms. How much harder would it be to develop a method to allow guests to flag their room for more towels, soap and coffee and trash pickup if they need it. We’re already making our own beds. Just knock, bring it in, set it down and leave. Also, the restaurant was closed except for a buffet breakfast so, aside from the great view, we were paying for isolation and inconvenience at the end of the spit. The location is lovely, the room very nice. All hotels are struggling with service. But it may be time to either figure out a way to provide some or adjust rates.

Thank you for your review and rating. We appreciate your recent stay and taking extra time to share your feedback. COVID has hit our business hard this year with the lingering effects of labor shortages. Our staff is working hard to provide the same quality our guests are used to, but in a more restricted manor. We hope you come back to stay with us again in the future when these lingering issues have been fully resolved.

We loved our stay at the Landsend Resort. We had an excellent beachfront room and enjoyed the fantastic views everyday. The rooms are exceptionally clean and the tub is to die for. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Due to Covid they do not clean your rooms everyday but they do make every attempt to resupply your rooms with the things you may need on a daily basis. Coffee, tea, towels, etc. The restaurant is currently closed (June) due to lack of staff but hopefully that will be fixed soon. The check-in and check-out process was easy and pleasant. The room is comfortable, spacious, and the bed is also comfortable. You may find folks at other properties nextdoor having bonfires and depot the wind the smoke may enter your room but the hotel addresses that and they can only burn up until a certain time. We would stay here again as we enjoyed our stay, the beach, and the views. Close enough to activity on the spit but far away for some peace and quiet. Loved this place. Hope to visit again.

Check in process was unfriendly, unwelcoming and uninformative. The young man who checked me in apparently had memorized his check in spiel and wasn't deviating from it. I only learned about the nice amenities from the checkout survey I just received 2 days after we left! Every hotel in AK is running on a skeleton crew, we understand and appreciate this. Your room won't be refreshed as it was in the old days. But if you call the front desk in need of toilet paper or towels, you should not have to leave the room and drive back to the front desk to pick it up yourself. Anyway, as my title stated, the property's location and view is magical. If you're on the first floor, you have direct access to the stony beach and an awesome fire pit which my kids loved. All said, I would stay there again but would lower my expectations of any type of service levels.

Thank you for your feedback and rating. We strive to provide the best customer service possible and it sounds like our Front Desk may have fallen short. Some days when they are busy to the max and short staffed, they will ask if guests are willing to come to the desk to pick up the items. However, it is our expectation that they should be able to deliver items to your room. It sounds like you were staying in one of our Lodges which are not directly connected to our hotel. We hope that when you do choose to return to visit us, that our staffing levels have increased and your can experience the service standards you are accustomed to.

We were very excited to have an ocean front room right on the beach. The views were absolutely beautiful! The hotel itself is in need of some updates, and for the price, should update the rooms. We stayed for 4 nights. We were never told that our room would not be serviced (ie. beds made up, towels changed, linens changed after two days) which was very disappointing for the price paid for the room. We actually needed to go to the check in counter every time we needed a fresh towel or wash cloth, or additional soap and shampoo - ugg.
Also, we went to the on site restaurant for dessert one hour before closing. The restaurant was only 1/3 full, but we were told that they could do a dessert in a box if we wanted to take it to our room. What kind of service is that??? A lava cake should be serviced on china with real forks. We declined dessert and did not use the restaurant for the remainder of our stay.
If you want to use the pool, sauna or hot tub, you need to sign up in advance for your half hour time slot.
The view rates 5+, but the lack of service made our stay less pleasant that it could have been.

We drove from Anchorage down to Homer and stayed at the Lands End Resort on a recommendation from someone that we know who lives in Wasilla.
When we arrived we went to our room which was a condo at the very end of the property. The hotel itself is only part of the property and then there are multiple two-story condos that are all individually owned that run down the beach and we were in one of these, specifically number 619. This unit was on the downstairs portion of the building.
Initially when we got to the room I thought it was quite small. My wife thought it was cozy but I thought it was quite small and over priced for what we were getting. There was a long list of both major and minor issues with this individually owned condo. For starters the bed made a ton of noise by just sitting on the edge. When you laid in the bed it had a huge sag to the middle and definitely needs to have its mattress replaced.
The kitchenette which is a good idea did not have a garbage disposal which doesn’t make any sense if you plan on making a meal of any sort in the room. Also there were just a couple of small plates but no bowls anywhere to have something as simple as cereal. When I started noticing that things were not right I picked up the phone and noticed that the phone didn’t even work and it wasn’t reasonable for me to get in the car and drive to the entire end of the property because it was too far to walk for a two minute conversation and not knowing if anybody was even there. Every time I tried to get a hold of the front desk even from my cell phone it just rang forever and nobody ever answered the phone.
The second night that we were there one of the two lighting banks in the ceiling went out and I told the front desk that they should have electrician look at it to make sure that it was not a fire hazard.
Then there were little things that were nice to have but if they don’t work then why bother: the flashlight in the room had a dead battery; the clock on the wall had a dead battery and did not work.
I stopped by the front desk a couple times during our stay and both times I was given the same excuse that we’ve been given at every property the last three years which is they are understaffed. We were told that there were no rooms available in the hotel section however every time we drove by the hotel either early in the morning or late at night there were many open parking places that led me to believe that it was nowhere close to being sold out.
In the end, I talked with one of the managers who gave me a bit of a discount and made me feel better about the property than I had the previous three days I had stayed there.
The property itself is in a great location and we walked out onto the beach several times along Kachemak Bay with the Kachemak State Park mountains in the background.
If we make it back to Homer, we would stay in the hotel section only and not in one of the condos that are all individually owned and therefore unpredictable as to exactly what you’re going to get.

Thank you for your thorough review. We are glad you were able to settle your issues with a Manager during your stay. Since your stay, the mattress was replaced in this unit. It's guest reviews like yours and the descriptions provided that allow us to fix the areas that need addressing. Also, we understand how frustrating it is that for the past few years everyone has used the statement "we are understaffed." However, it is an unfortunate struggle for the entire hospitality industry and we ourselves do not understand where all these missing workers have gone. We have done our best to make sure we go above and beyond with the staff we do have to provide a quality experience. Please try one of our amazing hotel rooms during your next visit!

Not at the Lands End itself. There is a facility in town, not too far from there.
Check out is 11:00, not Noon.
Lands End Resort is the hotel. All the way to the end of the road.
Thank you for asking! We do have an on site Spa, their menu is available on our website.
