We stayed 3 nights in the Bear Paw studio in September 2019 and we loved it!... from the welcome snack, to the view, the well-stocked fridge, the bear decor, Alaskan furniture, comfy bed, to the feeling of relaxation & comfort. We had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again. TIP: There is GOOD REASON for the Bear Paw Studio to get such excellent ratings!

My honey and I loved our stay here. Marcella was so relaxed and easy to deal with, super friendly. She offered to let us wash our clothes which was SO nice as we had been in Alaska for a week and were running out of fresh items. The Bear Paw studio is where we stayed and we loved it. The "room" was quite large with a TV, kitchen, table nice bed and really nice shower. This house and studio were quite large, very clean and really nice people. Highly impressed with Homer overall and loved all of the glaciers, views and wonderful food. Can't wait to go back to Homer in the future and stay with Marcella. I believe she rents the entire house out as well which would be awesome with the entire family. Great time and super nice host!!!

Near the end of a long road tour of Alaska, we stayed four nights at this delightful place. We booked the second floor "Bear Paw." It featured everything we could want for our stay. Marcella had breakfast items stocked in the refrigerator, plenty of variety. The room overlooks the bay, though nearby fires (a scourge we'd faced during all three weeks in our travels) kept us from getting the panoramic views we'd hoped for. However, seeing the beautiful flowers, getting a view of a moose and her calf were good consolation. During our stay we hiked some of the suggested sites that Marcella made, including the Carl Wynn Nature Center. Took a trip to Seldovia where we walked the Otterbahn Trail through the coastal forest to a beach where we lunched. Spent some time in Seldovia visiting the harbor and the historic district. The highlight of the trip was flying to Katmai with Alaska Bear Adventures (KBay Air). The tour was the best we have ever done with any vendor anywhere! We had opportunity to do all this because we had such a beautiful, comfortable place to spend each evening. The location of this place up the hill and away from the "city" of Homer added to its charm. We felt like we had our own bit of paradise.

Beautiful spacious home away from home. This is a great rental. Extremely clean, wonderful amenities, comfortable beds, and breathtaking views. Marcella, the owner was great to work with. We’ve stayed in several rentals & this is by far one of the nicest!
