I went to Haines for the weekend for business. I stayed there for the weekend and had a great stay. The room was comfortable, the mattress was soft and comfortable. Angela at the front desk was very accommodating. They are very convenient to town, the fair grounds and there was plenty of parking. They have spruced up the interior including new tile floors in one of the rooms, and a new front desk. The heat was easy to regulate and there were plenty of pillows and blankets to be comfortable. Wireless internet was available with a subscription to the local internet provider with a short 1, or 3 day subscription it was very convenient. I was able to stream movies on my iPad with my cellular service as well. Cell service is sketchy in some areas of Haines, but didn't have good reception, but it was excellent in the Motel. I loved the water pressure in the shower, and never ran out of hot water.…
This is a nice locally owned Motel that offers grounded beds. For those not familiar with this search “grounding” or “earthing”. Or you can flip through the book about earthing that is provided in your room. Room was clean and the staff was very nice. Their breakfast is a small assortment but nobody eats at their motels in Haines anyway.
We stayed a week while photographing eagles at the nearby Eagle Sanctuary. The room was basic but clean and with the most comfortable bed, an Earth bed I believe is how it was described. Wonderful, sound sleep. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. Very convenient to the Chilkat River and a short drive to the Eagle Council Grounds. Muffins, tea, and coffee provided in the mornings
This location is known for grounded sleep. If you read about "grounding" you will learn of the health benefits and want to try this place. I found it very relaxing and the room was very comfortable and I slept very well.
Nice budget motel by alaska standards. they only have a wifi hot spot so all you little streaming thieves are out of luck. the staff are very helpful. there's coffee juice and muffins in the morning don't stay by the back door cause it bangs when folks come through it
