The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. We had a water view and it was very quiet. We had dinner in the bar restaurant which was very good. It appears to be the meeting place for everyone.

The hotel consists of the officers' homes from historic Fort Seward (early 20th century). It has lots of character and charm. The rooms are large with comfortable beds and updated bathrooms. The staff is helpful. We walked around the area and enjoyed learning the local history. We had sunny weather and the scenery was spectacular. It would have been helpful... More

What a great place! The rooms were large, bright and comfortable. Our only complaint was, being that the hotel is so old, the walls were very thin. We could hear the person in the adjoining room cough every 45 seconds all night. We know the hotel would have moved us, but we also had bad coughs and did not want... More

Historic inn in the setting of Fort Seward. The hotel is located in the former officers' housing. Fabulous staff and comfortable, reasonably priced hotel. Each room was slightly different; fun to explore! Homemade pastries served with coffee and tea each morning.... yum!

The hotel is somewhat old and past its prime but had a certain charm that we enjoyed very much. The room was reasonably comfortable and the bathroom quite small. You can feel a sense of history here and its nice to walk around the nearby area to look for artwork.

Nice historic building and rooms. Great sea view from the room we had.Very small bathroom and toilet. Poor WIFI only at the reception. Very nice upscale restaurant. Also possibility to have burgers and similar at the bar. Easy parking facilities in front of the hotel. Only bad point is that there is no breakfast (only some cookies and coffee) .... More

I cannot believe how poor the washroom facilities are at the attached campground to this hotel. I would have expected that for the outrageous price we paid to camp here (32 USD per night) at least the washroom facilities would get cleaned on a semi regular basis. Nope guess not; dirty, disgusting and filthy come to mind. If this how... More

We love this old beauty and always stay here when in Haines. It's old and can be somewhat faded, but, to us, that's part of the charm. They've opened a second building, and the rooms are nice with small bathrooms. The hotel needs constant care: peeling paint in places, some windows won't open. Still, I love it and wouldn't think...
