We spent tonight’s at this RV campground. Beautiful spot near the waterfront. A bit crowded but a beautiful view over the water true the mountains. Shower great, clean washrooms. Very friendly helpful people. Haines is a very nice Little town to visit, all in walking distance. We loved it to spent a view nights.

We booked ahead or time during our Alaskan trip and spoke to JANET on the phone. We arrive in Haines to find the campground was perfectly located on the shore and the best location in town for camping - no more then a few miles from the ferry. As you step off the site you’re pretty much on Main Street. Predominantly for RVs with a smaller grassed area for tents. If you wish you can pitch you tent on the gravel to enjoy the view (best to check first). The shower, laundry and office area has all you need for a very powerful shower, and friendly chat with others. Joyce and Hanet can be found around here ready to answer a question or help in any way We stayed 2 nights and shared plenty of laughs with Joyce and Janet, they were very funny and an awesome source of local information. The highlight on July 4th was Joyce’s very American Stars and Stripes suit. Thank for a great stay, and the most powerful shower on our Alaskan trip yet.

Set right on the gorgeous waterfront just at the foot of the hill on the South end of town. Was beautiful when it was sunny and not raining but our second day there it was cloudy, rainy and VERY windy. We feared our truck camper (which we'd taken off the truck) might actually blow over as the winds were so strong & noisy during our second night there. The RV park is basically a gravel parking lot, not that unusual for AK. Waterfront lots have an extremely steep dropoff at the edge very close behind the sites, so probably not suitable for anyone with small children. There were hardly any picnic tables and we were told we would need to share one with the people in the next site to us :( even though the park was half empty and we could have easily snagged one from an empty spot, as our RV is small and we like to be outside whenever possible, and we have a dog who is friendly but not everyone wants to deal w/someone else's dog around when eating. Waterfront spots are all dry camping but still pricey (same as spots with full hookups) considering no utilities at all. They do have a dump station to use when arriving/leaving. Also, showers are NOT included. They have one shower for the entire park and it is nice but comes with an extra charge and a sign telling you to clean it (with cleaning instructions & supplies provided) after you are done using it. Seriously?? I paid nearly $50 per night to "camp" in a gravel parking lot, with no utilities, no free shower, no picnic table, no internet and they want ME to clean the shower too!! That's asking a bit much, in my opinion. The campground hosts were very nice, albeit a bit intrusive when directing us exactly where and how to park our very small rig. The one good thing was that they did have a reasonably priced laundry room (only one washer) and it was open 24 hours, which is nice when you don't want to waste your daylight vacation hours doing laundry. If you want a glorious view (assuming you get lucky enough to get good weather) then this is the place but know that this is basically what you are paying for.

Oceanside RV Park was the perfect place to begin and end our amazing trip through Alaska!! Joyce and Fiona as well as Kerry (Joyce's husband) and Kerry (Fiona's parrot) really made this place so very Special!! They go above and beyond to make your stay great in so many ways. The facility was great as well as the view but Joyce and Fiona really put so much of themselves into making their visitors welcome and taken care of!! We feel so blessed to have been able to stay here and to get to know these Special ladies!!

We stayed 2 nights with our two children. Spontaneously we were able to participate in a potluck. All the people were very friendly and the crabs were excellent. Our children fell in love with Carrie the parrot. the bear family was the culmination of our stay. Unfortunately, some people do not respect the rules when dealing with wildlife :(
