The Halsingland is a bit funky and old-fashioned, but it does fit in well with its old Fort Seward setting and it is comfortable. The rooms are spacious, the beds firm (and I slept well), the bath clean, the water...
The hotel is quaint and historical and we would’ve liked it more but we arrived on a very hot day and there is no a/c in the rooms. Our room was so hot and no screens on the windows so couldn’t open them without...
We were motorcycle camping and loved our night in Haines. Awesome seaside tenting spot and super clean facility. Top notch run operation. We had access to a very nice lounge area, very clean washroom facility with a small fee shower. Free WIFI as well. The on site manager is very friendly and accommodating.
This RV park is basically a parking lot on the waterfront. A beautiful waterfront. New or remodeled, but not 100% complete when we stayed in Sept 2021. It's a 10 minute walk to everything that Haines has to offer, and about a 15 minute walk to the old army base. Spotless bathrooms and lounge area but no internet connectivity at the time. It was about 25% full and all of our neighbors left in the morning, maybe, like us, to take the ferry, which is just a few miles down the road. If an internet connection is important (it wasn't to us), check first. Otherwise, it's a great place for a few days in Haines.
The recently remodeled facilities are clean, bright, and comfortable. The view was picture perfect, as it looked directly out over the water. The lot has been paved, and new landscaping was planted late in the summer. The RV park is within easy walking distance of the downtown area, including restaurants, museums (don't miss the hammer museum), and grocery stores.
