My wife and I stayed at The Hutch for a couple days before going on a cruise. The owners are very hospitable and the evening camp fire is a great way to end the day, regardless of the weather. The rooms are cozy and the common areas are a nice addition. We even liked the stairs to the top, but that could be a challenge for some, so be aware that there are no elevators.
Bring your coolers of food and grill your dinner or your Salmon from the Russian River. George and Shirley are the best host and hostess. We have been coming here for years every August. Very affordable. They have made improvement to the property since we first started coming. The fire pit at night for socializing is the best. Have a smore or a beer and a cigar. I/We look forward to or stay and visit every year. Plan early because they do sell out in the summer early. Continental Breakfast which is sufficient before going on the river to fish. There are small refrigerators on every floor to store your lunch items for the river and dinner for the barbeque for later. You are here on vacation so no TV in the rooms, but you can watch a video in the common areas.
I have my guests stay at the Hutch every year. It has great price point. I place to connect with other travelers and wonderful owners. The have an outdoor grilling area that is nice to cook your catch on.
Our party of 3 couples stayed in 3 rooms for 4 nights. We used The Hutch B&B as our headquarters to explore the Kenai peninsula. We went to Seward, Homer, and fished on the Kenai River. The Hutch is not a 5 star hotel but it is a 5 star value. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Beautiful place to stay. Comfortable, clean, friendly. The owners hava a wealth of knowledge of the area and things to do. They light a campfire every night behind the B & B. Would definitely return. Kenai river is across the road.
