I called the fly shop 6 months before my trip to Alaska. I talked to Rob and told him where I was fishing. He then sent me some flies that will work where I would be fishing. I told him I tie my own flies and had no idea what to tie. He sent me about 12 different flies and... More

We loved fishing on the Kenai. It was a beautiful river and our guide helped us find trout and salmon. It was a great day! We stayed in one of their cabins and really enjoyed our stay. They outfitted us with waders and poles before the trip.

I enjoyed a day of fishing on the Kenai River guided by Cameron and with one fellow angler. Unfortunately, the larger fish, especially the salmon, had not yet made their way to this portion of the river. But Cameron took us to some spots where we caught a combined total of about twenty smaller fish, either rainbow trout or dolly... More

Spent 3 nights at AKTroutfitters. Took a full day drift trip through the canyon with Jeff and a 1/2 day Russian River trip with Patrick. Can't get two smarter or better experienced guys. Fun, educational and breathtaking. As an experienced fly fisherman, my best advice is check your ego, because you don't want to miss what these guys have to... More

I booked a 1/2 day walk-in guided fly fishing trip on the Russian with Patrick for trout over the 4th of July weekend. Patrick is a very professional guide that knows the river well and was very helpful when it came to casting, technique, and reading the river - very helpful stuff for the beginner to intermediate angler. He put... More

Alaska Troutfitters is an excellent outfit, whether you stay with them or just take a guided drift trip on the Kenai. From Clint who took my reservation and answered all my questions about being a novice fly fisherwoman to Adam who singlehandedly powered us through the upper and gave me encouraging and expert advice on how to hone my cast,... Recently, 3 friends and I were lucky enough to spend 5 days with Billy, Dusty and the Alaska Troutfitters crew. Their hospitality was just amazing. Our cabin sat right on the bank of the Kenai River and was the perfect retreat after long days fishing on the river. The accommodations are great, comfortable beds and all the amenities you could... Where do I even start? The fly shop is outfitted with top quality gear and extremely knowledgeable staff. I hate to even call them "staff" considering they treated us like long lost friends from the moment we arrived. They have everything you need and more. Simms rental gear? Way to go Troutfitters! We stayed in "The Trout House" and couldn't... More

They were fully booked to spend the night but we did a half-day trout fishing float and the guide was great! My husband caught 3 dollys and 2 rainbows. We've booked again for August and are taking my Grandpa and his friend. Again, the lodging was booked; but still worth it to float! Friendly staff, clean place.
