Here you are paying for the location and nothing else. The cabins are extremely tiny. Like unless everybody is in bed you’re stumbling over each other. Location is amazing though. Fishing in the lake isn’t really great either. You need to get down to the river to be able to find fish stacked up.
We stayed in the Eagle's Nest. It was clean, comfortable and convenient. My only caution is that it is right off the road so the road noise can be loud. We could not open the windows at night due to the noise and I slept with ear plugs. I think the cabins on the river would be more peaceful. Other than that everything was perfect. Check in was easy, the porch was nice (but loud) and the kitchen was useful.
We had reservations for Trapper Cabin and couple weeks before our trip received an email message that we were being moved to a lodge room in the basement area. We specifically wanted a cabin so called and was given no clear reason just that it was no longer available. We had no option to find other accommodations and it was within the 30 day cancellation. When we checked in was told the group in there wanted to extend their stay. Was also told others had to be moved. Room was ok, had what we needed but was really looking forward to Cabin setting with porch to sit out on for the view and grill. No option for us to sit out or go down by river without infringing on other guests area. Truly disappointed at how this was handled!!
We rented the upstairs apartment with 2 beds and 2 baths. It was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. It’s close to the Sterling Highway and was pretty noisy over the weekend but much quieter on Monday and Tuesday.
We were a group of 10, including kids, parents, and seniors. We stayed in the lodge in the rooms on the first floor. Everything was like new, clean, and very comfortable. The beds were comfortable, and though we didn't cook, everything we would have needed was provided.
