We stayed 2 nights at Popoara ocean breeze villas. All Though I had confirmed with reception prior to leaving Australia our transfer pick up from the airport ,we were not met by our pick up and thankfully the airport staff were able to phone our accom place to advise them we were waiting. While our accom was neat and clean we found reception staff somewhat laid back and not overly helpful when we enquired about snorkelling trip options. The lack of tourist information was disappointing and somewhat frustrating. Overall The Boat shed Bar had great meals and service.

We stayed here as a family for 4 days in December. Unfortunately the weather was at it's worst, so we were pretty much cabin bound. The rooms are rather small for a family when you are forced to spend so much time indoors. If we were to have got out more, I am sure they would have been fine. The "Boat Shed" restaurant on the property offers great meals throughout the day. We are hoping to get back there for a longer period, as we were unable to see any of the island.

Friendly staff and good restaurant. My room was tidy with all the amenities. This is a very good location as one can get the view from east to west with very nice swimming spots. However, some maintenance is due.

Aitutaki is a fabulous desitnation but like any remote location, accommodation can be a bit hit and miss, especially when you are looking for value for money. There are some very nice high end resorts but the range of quality in the mid range is quite large. Popoara Villas are a really nice, private property of 4 villas located in a secluded part of the island, very near the coast and a nice beach about 200m away. On site is the Boatshed Bar and Grill, and a significant rental company for cars and scooters operates on the site. The Villas are well appointed, with a double bed and a single bed, air conditioning, kitchenette with toaster, pots, fry pan, elements and fridge. The villas are set up for 2 people but you can cater for 4 with what the kitchen has in it. The Villas are screened, which is necessary, as there are some mosquitoes around Aitutaki. The rooms are service daily except on Sundays and the staff are helpful and friendly. I highly recommend.…

3rd visit to Aitutaki and first time at Popoara. We love this end of the island and Popoara Ocean Breeze Villas are well located and has the added bonus of The Boat Shed Bar & Grill (just remember to book!). Good facilities and we noted that they have upgraded one of the villas so presume others will follow. Clean and tidy and nice to have the cooking facilities. Great location with an easy walk to Ootu Beach and other bar/restaurant and cafe. The staff were friendly & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. This is a quiet, relaxing place to stay & relatively private.

This was our second stay at Popoara , we stayed last year for few weeks and this year as well for 2 weeks and we enjoyed our stay as usual. The villas are clean, tidy, well equipped, good value for money and on a good location, on the breeze side of the island. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the owner is very friendly and helpful too. Highly recommend this villas

6 wonderful nights on restfull Aitutaki. Enjoyed the food and drink at the boat shed next door and appreciated the cooking facility when we needed a light dinner and being able to cook the Mahi Mahi we caught. If you stay here just don't try and visit the Island resort across the estuary. We popped over for a look and the offered to "escort" us to the bar then they would "escort" us back to the boat. Just go some where else that makes visitors welcome. Thanks to the boat shed crew for the service and pleasure of your company. Ken & Jacqui

Great spot, clean, affordable, easy access to the lagoon. Next to good restaurant with basic good food and cool reasonably priced drinks at the bar. Friendly staff, most hospitable, very safe. I would return in a heartbeat.

We live in Rarotonga but my husband had work to do at he Aituaki Airport for 3 days so we ideally stayed at Popoara villa which is located at the end of the runway. My widowed mother followed us and had the villa right next door to us. It was very practical for us as we had villa 1 & 2, a few steps away from the parking and from the restaurant. My 75 year old Mum did not have to walk far. Villa had A/C which I believe is a must for Aitutaki because it can get quite hot. Enjoyed the sun and sea during the day and came back to a cool room in the evening for a good sleep. Staff was friendly from young man Atai who pick us up at the airport, his twin brother Fabio who attended to us in office, Vaine who served us our food, Teina who cleaned our room and Maria, the owner who chatted with us at dinner time. Thanks to all.…
