After spending a pleasant 6 nights at this resort I find the 'terrible' ratings on trip advisor for this place hard to reconcile. The location is amazing with sublime views over the world-famous Aitutaki lagoon, something which is unique to this hotel on the island. I thought the service was cordial and professional. There were only 1 or 2 wait... More

My wife and I stayed for several nights as part of our honeymoon. The serenity was absolutely stunning, staff were friendly and accommodating. I am a little concerned of the free snorkeling gear as we were advised to go in and help ourselves but some gear was returned and lead to confusion of what was just used and what was... More

My wife and I honeymooned here at the end of October 2015 and stayed for a week in over-the-water bungalow #35. The customer service was always top-notch. Everyone was really friendly. There were only two options for food at the resort and we pre-paid for breakfast, two course lunch and three course dinner every day that we were there which... More

Wow. Some of the previous reviews of this place were very harsh! I can understand why they were written, but I still think they were overly harsh. We stayed 6 nights in a deluxe beachfront villa and had a very relaxing time. The room was big and comfortable, the food (though a bit expensive for what you get) was good... More

The Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa was advertised a the top accommodation on the island and although it is certainly good there is a quite a lot that could be improved. The good: Location right on the lagoon is beautiful, swimming perfect, resort is reasonably well kept, bed was very comfortable, room clean The bad: Can't snorkel, nothing to see... More

Have to agree mostly with 1Scarlett1. Absolutely needing maintenance and attention, for example the transport (Transit van) had numerous mechanical problems and the ferry was also in need of maintenance. On our final day it had given up the ghost and we were taken one by one on the outrigger canoe. (Quite enjoyed that actually). However, we sympathise with the... More

The most beautiful place I have ever been. Overwater bungalow gorgeous. Back deck over water. People fantastic. Recommend aromatherapy massage. Meals beautiful. This is paradise at its best. Thoroughly recommend, didn't want to leave. Crystal waters, white sands. Romantic.

Our room was right on the lagoon beach. So walk 2 metres from door to beach and less wind than the other side. Room was spacious with an open roof shower. Restricted to resort for food options. If you want to do nothing, this is the place. Degustation breakfast was good but a conventional breakfast should be an option. Staff... More

We returned this week from a 7-night stay at this resort. We experienced two room types, premium beachfront and the over-water bungalow. It was our choice to move to the over-water as there is more privacy and we wanted to experience staying in this style of accommodation. We had read the TA reviews prior and were aware of the problems;... More

Stayed on a 5 day package we saw in the NZ Sunday Escape mag. The location is idyllic right on the sand, the units were great, well set up ad clean. After that it all fell to pieces. Our package "extras" included a bottle of wine(undrinkable), a hydrotherapy spa treatment for two (this consisted of a dubious looking portable spa... More
