We visited Le Taha'a last February as a "once in a lifetime" trip. The problem, we fell head over heels in love. Since that visit, we could not stop talking / thinking about Le Taha'a. We travel quite frequently and this locale / resort is that perfect combination of Robinson

We stayed here for only one night before a catamaran trip. We want to go back and stay longer - everything was perfect from meeting us at the airport, greeting at the dock, room service, breakfast and check in and out. We had an OTW bungalow at the end of a pontoon overlooking

This was one of the most difficult places to rate of all our travels. I rated it as I did because ultimately, I was ready to leave when it was time to go, rather than wishing for a bit more time, and this is rare for us. The Plusses: - Beautiful room - we chose the beachfront

My wife and I had planned to honeymoon in the French Polynesian.  I never would have guessed that this resort would take the cake until after this trip. This was the best spot we could have booked. We did months of research to figure out the best place for us to stay.  It is

This is one of my favourite places and I have travelled all over the world. The overwater bungalows are lovely and the whole resort is charming. It’s just the right balance of people, nature and service. The coral gardens are beautiful for snorkeling though I think the resort

Take a tour of the island of Taha'a (we loved Arii Moana Tours. You can find them here in TripAdvisor). Also, the drift snorkeling in the coral garden right off Le Taha'a resort is a major attraction in itself. You can also do what we did and spend a day on the island of Raiatea, which is where the airport is anyway. You can rent a car for just a half day and drive down to Marae Taputapuatea, the most sacred site in the entire Polynesian triangle. If you get bored easily, spend a few days on Bora Bora first, then fly from there to Raiatea and get picked up by Le Taha'a and spend just 3 nights there. There is no boat or ferry that runs between the two islands, though.

They have a beautiful sand beach where you can just lay back and enjoy the amazing views. The water is about knee high so you could wade in the water for a distance. There is also a reef for snorkeling a short distance from the beach which is a M U S T , the most amazing fish crystal clear water and the current simply takes you for a swim Enjoy

Hotel staff told us it’s not that of a difference. We stayed 3 nights, only had time for breakfast on the last day, otherwise too busy with snorkeling / excursions. We also ate at the restaurant for dinner only once - rest of the time we ordered room delivery. I’m often exhausted and sleepy at the end of the day, so I would prefer waiting for my food to arrive in my bathrobe than having to dress to go to a restaurant. An appetizer is between 2300-3000XPF, a main is between 3500-6000XPF, a dessert is around 1900xpf. Lunch at La Plage is great, about 2300-3000xpf for appetizer, 3000xpf for sandwich, 4000 for main. However, they have lobster / whole fish for grill on Monday and Thursday noon. A whole lobster at 1.45kg for 2 was around 12500XPF. A fresh coconut from the beach bar was 1500xpf - must be the most expensive coconut I’ve ever had in my travels around the world. about water - bottled sparkling water was 890xpf per bottle. We don’t drink alcohol so I don’t remember wine cost.

What is the best way to get from PPT to Le Taha'a Resort
Book a flight to Raitea, and the hotel can arrange a transfer from Raitea airport to the hotel via boat.

It probably depends on if you are going during the rainy season (which I've been told can be bad after it rains) or dry. We were there at the end of May (dry season) and they were not bad near the bungalow but we saw some at the restaurant which is open air. I wore Repel (sold on Amazon) which is a natural repellent and I didn't get bit. I didn't see any at the beach / pool.
