While the other reviews pretty much cover the comfort of staying in one of Raphael's houses, I would like to add that this island and this location makes for a truly different kind of vacation. A relaxing one. As a family (we were 2 parents, 3 children and a grandmother) it would cost us quite a bit to stay in... More

We stayed at Villas Bougainville for almost three weeks and were able to get a discounted price for staying at least 16 days. We feel like we made the best choice as we were able to drive around and see the island. The Villas are on a paved road which has a car go by once in a great while.... More

We have just returned from the Villas Bougainville. What a treat! The house is spotless and in a quiet, lovely, well-kept neighborhood. Anything one would need is provided in the house, such as a toaster, washing machine, dishes, etc. The yard is maintained by a gardener. As everyone else has said, having the boat and a car provided the freedom... More

Once again we stayed at the Villas Bougainville. Raphael has added more plantings so there are more fruits availabke when in season, Lemons which can be used for so many things and pamplemousse, a type of very large sweet grapefruit, seem to be available quite often. There Are large bags of fresh ginger in town at the market for a... More

We wanted a non-touristy, quiet and soothing vacation, and that is exactly what we had. We loved our villa, the expansive lawns, the birds, flowering trees, fruit trees, palm trees etc. though it could be called comfortably glamorous "roughing it"! We were there for 12 days in the rainy season, but only had one real rain-out day. Americans: You might... More

The villa was clean and comfortable. the kitchen well equiped. the grounds beautiful and private and well maintained. the fact that the price includes a car and boat make it a real bargain. The Owner was helpful and pleasant. though his english was limited. Will stay here again if I come back to Huahine. The location is not beach side... More

I have reviewed this before, but this year have found more to add for this wonderful place. First of all, we like to walk. We walk several miles a day on the road and rarely see a car. It is flat with a small hill on the route that would take one to Fare. We have also walked up the... More

Stayed for six nights at Villas Bougainville in October 2012. Choosing which islands to visit in French Polynesia apart from Tahiti, is not easy if one doesn’t have previous knowledge. Bora Bora immediately comes to mind, but having read David Stanley’s excellent guide to the South Pacific, we chose Huahine as being more laid back, and not burdened with too... More

Let’s make it clear that this is not directly related to villas Bougainville. The villas are well located and in good condition the issue for us was the owner Raphael... Things started not very well because Raphael English was really poor which made communication very difficult... but again not the reason for this review... Things just went from bad to... More
