My wife and I stayed here on their Park Collectors package to be able to set foot on the ground at Gates of the Arctic NP and Kobuk Valley NP. Other than hiking or rafting into these 2 parks, this was the best and most convenient way of getting into these parks that I could find. I thoroughly checked out... More

We recently visited Bettles as a launching pad to see Gates of the Arctic and Kobuk Valley National Parks. We were pleasantly surprised to find such wonderful and hospitable people working there- from the front desk staff (Grace and Kate were so fun!) to the owners (Eric and Heather- we loved the tour of both new and old Bettles-so amazing),... I went to Bettles to go above the Arctic Circle. Learned a lot about the Arctic in the nearby Park Office. Great people. Although we were there for an afternoon snack the staf made up a lunch for us and gave us our Arctic Circle Certificates. Very nice folks just taken over the place. Worth a stay.

My wife and I loved this place Everything was just fantastic and we totally agree with all the previous "positive" comments. A couple of things to add; - the staff create a real "warm" environment - if you are considering dog sledding we strongly suggest you do it at Bettles - the whole set up seems a lot better than... Unique and unusual. Accommodations not luxurious, but for God's sake, this is the Arctic Circle!! Food was superb; fellow travelers incredibly interesting; lodge keepers (not natives) fun and entertaining. Dog sledding experience was wonderful!!! Don't miss it!This place has a laid-back family ambience. Book it now!

Bettles Lodge was the highlight of our 4week holiday, we stayed for 5days 4nights and we still didn't want to go. We felt welcomed as soon as we got off of the plane on the air strip, all the staff were welcoming and friendly for our whole stay. We had planned only to do the Aurora viewing which was UNBELIEVABLE... More

I want to give a shout out for a job well done to all the staff at the lodge but especially to Chris. Chris was the designated staff member to stay awake with us until 2am to take us back and forth to view the Aurora. I stayed for three nights, and let's just say the weather didn't cooperate a... Unexpectedly needed a room at Bettles Lodge, and fortunately for me they had one available in the old lodge. It's a neat place, normally off the road system but for a couple of months a year in winter you can get there on the ice road. The room in the old lodge is basic. Two twin beds, one nightstand. Bathroom... More

Bettles Lodge is clean and rustic with comfortable beds. The food was tasty and plentiful. The owners and staff were very friendly, accommodating and cheerful. Enjoyed seeing a marvelous display of the aurora at the viewing hut. We saw green, yellow, orange and a little bit of bluish purple. It was dramatic and everything I dreamed of. We also went... Bettles is truly a unique experience: further north than the Arctic circle, bye bye cell phone and city life, welcome crisp air, amazing night sky, Aurora Borealis and shooting stars... The Bettles Lodge owners and their staff are great and they will make every effort to make your stay enjoyable -and memorable in my case-. You can see that they... More
