Having arrived at airport 10:35am, went to King Eider Inn to sit around lobby til check-in at 3pm. However, Jack greeted me and checked me in early.  Being my first trip here I had a lot of questions and Jack answered them all. He also volunteered to summon taxis as needed; overall very friendly and helpful. Hotel nicely located diagonally across the street from airport, room was everything I expected and bathroom was nice with large shower.  Really a homey feel to the place. Also first hotel I've ever been in that you can wear socks all day and they're still clean at the end of the day.

Stayed at the King Eider Inn while in Barrow for business in August 2018. The inn is almost directly across the street from the airport, making it very convenient. The hotel is simple and rustic and you will be required to take your boots/shoes off after entering. Limited front desk hours. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are not luxurious but adequate for a short stay. Walls are a bit thin but the hotel is generally quiet. The TV remote was not working well and the space heater would have to be periodically restarted. There was a small kitchenette in the room which was convenient. There is no restaurant available in or immediately around the hotel, Subway is within walking distance however. There are several restaurants that will deliver to the hotel, food is very expensive in Barrow. I walked to Osaka the first night I was there, but recommend you take a cab for anything further than Subway, there are no paved streets or sidewalks

Located the other side of the road from the airport entrance, we found this place to be extremely comfortable and welcoming. Rooms are surprisingly spacious, with a small kitchenette and dining table. The place is immaculate, great shower and daily room cleaning. There are no meals at all, but free coffee and tea as well as drinking water. It is 15 minute walk to the so-called center of town, and most convenient when you arrive and leave town. the management is accommodating and courteous. Highly recommended.

Trip Advisor has incorrectly spelled the new name of Barrow in your listing. Trip advisor has it as Ukpiaġvik - that is the name of an ancient Inupiat village on the west edge of town near the airport. The correct new name is spelled Utqiagvik. Now about the King Eider. This was my second visit to Utqaigvik. On my first trip I stayed at a nice nearby hotel but decided to try the Eider for my next visit. After this trip I will never look at another hotel in Utqaigvik! This is by far the nicest, most reasonably priced hotel in town. On exiting the airport turn right, walk about 100 yards, and there is the Eider on your left. Walk in, take off your shoes!, and enjoy luxurious surroundings like you can't imagine in Barrow. The entrance is dominated by couches and a large fireplace. There is ample information about local attractions, a computer for guest use, and an ultra friendly and helpful staff at the front counter eager to help you. Behind the counter is a small gift shop where you can purchase the necessary local t shirts and a baseball cap. Rooms at the Eider are on two levels. The view out the windows aren't that inspiring but the rooms are ultra comfortable. A large queen bed, a small refrigerator, a flat screen tv and the all important blackout shades cover the windows so you can block out the midnight sun. The restroom is large with a walk in shower, and the bathroom counter contains the usual amenities you would expect in a hotel.
