This was my 3rd trip to Barrow for business and my first stay at King Eider Inn. I will be back! So conveniently located right across the street from the airport. Allowed early check in. Was very comfortable, wi-fi service was perfect, slept well. Checked out about an hour before I needed to head to airport and relaxed in comfort in the lobby with a cup of hot tea! Appreciated the free slippers to wear when removing boots at the door. A very quaint place, and taking appropriate precautions for COVID travel.

Our first visit to Utqiagvik (Barrow). We had originally booked at another hotel but they cancelled due to covid-19. This was a blessing in disguise. This hotel was a short walk from the airport. Staff was friendly & very helpful. I loved the fact you had to leave your outside shoes up front & use their slippers. That helps keep this hotel clean. Utgiagvik is very dusty during the summer. With all of the challenges of traveling during covid-19 our stay here had no obstacles or hiccups. The sun did not set and has a different trajectory obviously than places further south. We could see the Arctic Ocean from our room even though it was about a half mile away. We were allowed to check out about an hour before our flight departure which was greatly appreciated! Next trip up here King Eider will be our first choice. You are in remote Alaska, lodging is not cheap, keep that in mind. Lodging up here isn't like many places in the lower 48 states, keep that in mind. Place was clean & staff was great!!!!

Having arrived at airport 10:35am, went to King Eider Inn to sit around lobby til check-in at 3pm. However, Jack greeted me and checked me in early.  Being my first trip here I had a lot of questions and Jack answered them all. He also volunteered to summon taxis as needed; overall very friendly and helpful. Hotel nicely located diagonally across the street from airport, room was everything I expected and bathroom was nice with large shower.  Really a homey feel to the place. Also first hotel I've ever been in that you can wear socks all day and they're still clean at the end of the day.

Stayed at the King Eider Inn while in Barrow for business in August 2018. The inn is almost directly across the street from the airport, making it very convenient. The hotel is simple and rustic and you will be required to take your boots/shoes off after entering. Limited front desk hours. Staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are not luxurious but adequate for a short stay. Walls are a bit thin but the hotel is generally quiet. The TV remote was not working well and the space heater would have to be periodically restarted. There was a small kitchenette in the room which was convenient. There is no restaurant available in or immediately around the hotel, Subway is within walking distance however. There are several restaurants that will deliver to the hotel, food is very expensive in Barrow. I walked to Osaka the first night I was there, but recommend you take a cab for anything further than Subway, there are no paved streets or sidewalks

Located the other side of the road from the airport entrance, we found this place to be extremely comfortable and welcoming. Rooms are surprisingly spacious, with a small kitchenette and dining table. The place is immaculate, great shower and daily room cleaning. There are no meals at all, but free coffee and tea as well as drinking water. It is 15 minute walk to the so-called center of town, and most convenient when you arrive and leave town. the management is accommodating and courteous. Highly recommended.
