We absolutely loved our stay at Joe Jo's! We felt like we were family during our stay on the island. They are so accommodating and friendly. Our trip was wonderful and anything we wanted to do or needed, it happened! Wonderful food from Carmen, Cynthia was just wonderful and took care of so many things, Dave was helpful in every way! We loved roaming the island, snorkeling, Scuba, and everything the island had to offer. We can't wait to plan our next trip!
This was a trip to remember! We were in a cabin on the lagoon, identified as the "honeymoon suite". It was just the right size for the occasion. I got rid of my shoes almost immediately, still can't find them. The staff was the best!!! The meals were to die for! Ms. Carmen just could not miss with any of the food she, and her daughter prepared... We swam, splashed and drank our favorite cocktails. We had the pleasure of the owners arriving later the day we arrived, and it was like one big happy family gathering.. They were as much into having fun and enjoying the experience as much as us. I have so many great things to say about this visit.. I am ready to go back today if I had the opportunity. It was THE BEST TIME, EVER!
We had a cabin overlooking the lagoon, mangroves and the reef. It was spotless when we arrived, clean sheets and comfy beds! The front porch to each of the stand-alone cabins have 2 deck chairs (either plastic or wooden muskoka-type) and a hammock. Inside the cabin had a single and a double bed, a tall floor fan, a chair, a table, and a bookshelf (we used it for clothes), as well as some hooks on the wall for hanging clothes. Each cabin also has a private 3-piece bathroom that was nice and clean, with shower. Meals are included, three/day, served at 8am, noon and 6:30pm, and you are summoned by a bell for mealtime. Carmen (chef) cooked up incredible meals! Mealtime is social, with various guests sitting together family-style. Fresh food, plentiful and cooked so well!! Our days…
Joe Jo’s is for sure the best place on the island. Everything is taken care of for you because life is simple here. The snorkeling is fantastic and my kids loved the family atmosphere thanks to Dave and his grandkids. We are already planning a return trip.
This was my first trip to Tobacco Caye and it was as good as I'd imagined. A tiny island with not too many people. David and his family were excellent hosts and it was a pleasant surprise to have all that gear (kayaks, paddleboards etc.) to use in the water. Snorkelling was great from shore - including lots of rays and nice coral. The accommodation was simple, clean and peaceful. I was blown away by the cooking! I am a vegetarian and I haven't had better meals at the fanciest restaurants. I will be back! this is a must visit place.
My family and I ventured to Jo Jo’s at the end of March for a spring break adventure, little did we know the treat we were in for! Everything was as described on the website, the cute cabins were beyond satisfactory for our week long getaway; Louis, Dave and Carmen aptly responded to ALL our needs ensuring that every day was even better than the last. The kids roamed the island in comfort, enjoyed the use of the kayaks and paddle boards and snorkeled to their hearts content. Each day we looked forward to Ms. Carmen’s delish fried jacks and sweet treats at the end of dinner. Jo jo’s has captured a piece of all our hearts and we will definitely be back soon!!
Joe Jo's is a delightful place, warm and friendly, comfortable and peaceful. David (manager) made sure our every need was met, and his lovely daughters Marielle and Cynthia cooked delicious meals and made us feel like part of the family. Kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkel gear were always available at no extra cost. The reef is a few steps away, so we could pop in out of the water whenever we felt like. It was like having a slope-side condo, with Caribbean seas instead of snow! All in all, it could not be more perfect.
THis hotel is one of the most amazing places we have ever been to. This island is so tiny (you can swim or kayak around the whole island, walk from one end to the other in about 2 minutes...). The man who runs it and all of the staff are so great. They are friendly, kind and helpful. You walk out of your room and can immediately start snorkeling. They have glass bottom kayaks which are so fun, regular kayaks, snorkeling gear, paddle boards.... The food they make is so yummy! If you really want to get away from it all and go relax in a tropical paradise, this is the place to go!!
What an amazing island experience!! The cabins are cute and literally a paradise for peace and quiet. The owner and his staff are very accommodating, professional and goes above and beyond to make you feel at home and welcomed! We spent a week and DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE! The food was delicious - especially Ms Carmen's Fried Jacks for breakfast!!! WOW!! I can't wait to go back! Jeff
I wonder why there are no comments since July 2017.... Great island with beautiful beaches and great for snorkeling. Besides the rented out places are a number of very run down buildings away from the beach, you have to take this into account. People in general are very friendly, we just had a very bad surprise with Joe Jo’s, that a number of rooms we had reserved for a larger party were confirmed by the owner but were not available upon arrival. No apologies offered by the owner, we felt cheated and actually we were. Some of the guests came as far as Europe. The food served at Joe Jo‘s was very average. Some of the group were staying at Reef’s End, they also were great in helping out as we had the room problems at Joe Jo‘s. Reefs End I can highly recommended, the food is…
