This property had step which continuously cause me to trip. The room had live mold on the wall, the room smelled of mold and other human smells. The breakfast here was basic white bread tea or coffee and a bit of fruit. Not much of a view in my opinion.

3 different amenities listed in my reservation were not in the room they gave me. Refused a refund, I went to a different place to stay. I have the documentation and pictures to prove it. I have stayed there twice before but not that it has changed hands I will not stay there again

Selina and all the crew at Las Cumbres were wonderful. They took special care of my allergies and made sure I made it to all of my appointments. Very caring and wonderful. The room 11 was fantastic. I would like to thank Xinia and her excellent staff for providing me during my very first visit to Costa Rica with a warm, safe and nurturing environment for my recent medical stay. I planned my inaugural trip to San Jose area several months in advance.while researching Dentists for Dental Implants. After researching and reviewing medical stay hotels, I really was drawn to this Inn for its location and small friendly style. My room, #12 had a gorgeous view with a small balcony, walk-in shower along with sink and refrigerator. Uncluttered and simple, it was perfect for my needs. Please don't expect boutique "hotel" rooms. Each room has it's own personality which in my opinion makes the visit more authentic. A nurse is on the property and is readily available to answer any questions or concerns about medications and appointments. A true benefit is the offering of three meals a day. All are offered at certain times and one may feel free to show up at their leisure. Christian, is a wonderful chef with a personality to match. He will ask you any dietary needs or food allergies. Everything is creatively prepared with a touch of Costa Rican accents. The papaya and pineapple offered at breakfast are a treat. You might even experience some Gallo Pinto, a traditional breakfast dish. The location is very special with views of mountains from most all rooms.Taxi and Uber are easily available and almost appear in minutes. Downtown San Jose is close as well as the clinics of Escazu and Cima hospital. I was very satisfied with a truly successful five day stay. My Dentist, Dr. Vargas performed an excellent job at America Dental. Solo Travelers will feel very much at home with a natural camaraderie among the guests. Don't hesitate to experience a unique alternative to mainstream hotels in a comfortable, caring place in beautiful Costa Rica!

Having visited Las Cumbres about 6 years and being treated very well in a comfortable "homey" atmosphere, with home cooked meals, albeit local recipes ,most of which were unfamiliar to me, they were tasty and generous. This visit, from August 22nd to September 1st,blew me away. New ownership and staff ,under the direction of Xinnia , far surpasses the previous owners and staff. We had gone directly from the airport to the Dental Cosmetics CR clinic for a rather painful procedure for my wife.(More on that ,with my review of the clinic). We were taken from the clinic to the Inn where we were greeted by Xinnia and Chris (I soon learned that Chris is a brilliant Chef) and we were ushered into the dining room ,where my wife was treated to ,what she described, as a really great smoothie and I was given a very tender and lightly seasoned pork steak and a generous slice of spinach quiche. Our luggage had been taken to our suite by staff. We were told not to worry about checking in, that could done the next day or whenever we were settled in. A really different first day from our last visit ,already. The next 9 days we enjoyed ,prearranged transportation, to and from appointments, delicious meals, frequent checks on my wife's well being as well as mine , and I wasn't even a patient. On a couple of occasions I asked to visit the local Mercado and in the drop of a hat, xinnia, picked her car keys and we were off. The suite was very comfortable and airy, the bed welcomed long hours of rest for my wife. Chris prepared food, especially for her and several other gests ,with special dietary needs, all were delicious and recognizable. All the meals were included in the cost of the stay. In spite of the reasons for being there, it was most enjoyable and as comfortable as it could be if we were at home. Thanks to Zinnia, Chris and Faviola. Faviola ,by the way, wears many hats , She is a great breakfast cook, a superior server, and a very fastidious housekeeper. We have already reserved our next stay and excited to see all the new changes that are in the works
